FIRST ONE, took 3 weeks to get a quote (I could only imagine how long it would take to get the work done) and the price was shockingly high SECOND and THIRD contractors I reached out to never even returned the calls The FORTH and FIFTH contractors finally came through with quotes and both were fairly priced. I went with Family Shutters over the competitor number based on customer service and not the price (both were about the same cost). Once I received my quote I had questions; I spoke with Rene Mejia (I believe he is the operations manager) who made himself available to answers question or to clarify points I didn't understand. As a contractor myself, I had numerous questions regarding the installation and materials; Rene always took the time to be in contact with me (very helpful and convenient). Once agreed to the terms and ready to do the work, I gave my deposit (a fair, small percentage compared to many contractors out there that require ridiculous deposits). Work was scheduled and the installer showed as promised. Once the installation was completed (by Ray) I had a couple questions for Rene to verify the installation would pass my insurance inspection and he explained everything and even gave reassurance that if I had any issue or problem, then he would stand behind the product and have it taken care of. I was able to get all the needed paperwork/permits completed for my condo association and the county, easily. From the very first phone call, JC was friendly, professional, and genuinely helpful. They scheduled a free in-home consultation within a couple of days, and the consultant arrived right on time, listened carefully to what I wanted, and offered fantastic suggestions without any high-pressure sales tactics. He took precise measurements and helped me choose the perfect style, color, and finish that complements my décor perfectly. The installation crew was just as impressive. They showed up on the exact day promised, laid down drop cloths to protect my floors, and worked efficiently and neatly. The shutters were custom-made and fit every window like a glove--no gaps, no adjustments needed. The quality is outstanding: solid hardwood, smooth operation, and that classic, elegant look that instantly elevated the whole house. What I appreciated most was the attention to detail. They even adjusted the tilt rods exactly how I wanted them and made sure I knew how to clean and maintain everything properly. The pricing was fair and transparent--no hidden fees or surprises on the final bill. Honestly, it felt like a premium service at a very reasonable cost. I've already get compliments from everyone who visits, and the difference in light control, privacy, and insulation is night and day. I recommend Elite Decor to anyone looking for plantation shutters (or any window treatments, really). They're true professionals who take pride in their work, and it shows. If you're on the fence, go with them--you'll be as delighted as I am! Thank you for transforming my home!

Very disappointed with the removal of our Rolladen shutters…read more We hired this company to remove our Rolladen shutters and expected the areas around our windows to be left in a condition that could be properly repaired and refinished. Instead, we were left with a mess around the window openings. Holes were filled with putty after the shutters were removed. This is a total disaster and is not the proper way to seal the holes- can't plaster/stucco directly over it yet. Exterior putty can shrink, stay soft, or separate from the masonry and the repairs can show through. We now have to hire someone to repair this. Would definitely not recommend for this type of project.
