I had ordered a food delivery from the Wayland, Ma store, unfortunately, the driver forgot many items, (I believe it was Instacart.) I was contacted before the driver even came by a gentleman at the store Bryan, he explained to me what had happened on the phone, he immediately fixed my order with the substitute the bagged items left at the store and drove everything to my house , he was beyond courteous and gave me a sense of completion that this issue was resolved, it would be nice if the be duties that Bryan accomplishes Each and every day go noticed to someone management, he is beyond professional.I do know that I will be ordering from the store again. . Often smells of rotten fish when you enter. Prices terribly inflated with greedflation. I only shop here because it's close. Many bare shelves, very poor selection in produce section, especially vegetables. Prices $1-5 more for many items compared to trader joes and market basket. $8 for cereal?! Also, woefully behind the times in still having a separate section for natural items. instead of integrating them with everything else. The cherry on the top is how understaffed this place is, and how poorly trained the employees are. Literally one of the worst locations of a poorly run grocery chain. read more

The managers in this store are super helpful. The employees are great. Very helpful if you want to find something. It's a smallish store for stop and shop. The problem is sometimes they run out of sale items. I shop here 3-4 times a week and usually smallish shopping trips. The produce needs more variety and more turnover to make sure it's fresh. I love the butcher and seafood section cuz you can choose which piece of meat or fish. The guy who works the butcher and seafood is great. He is very helpful. read more

The Stop&Shop has no character in comparison with other grocery Stores such as Market Baskets or Whole Foods and its uncharacharacterisfic carries through this Stop&Shop also; their customer services is non Existent, their prices are quite expensive, and there is no quick-grab-and-go instant foods. I desperately want to like this place because it is relatively new, almost never too crowded, and close by. But its service has consistently fell short of what a basic grocery store ought to strike for, time after time. There is often no one at the seafood counter. And no mechanism to call for help. The pricing is often incorrect as the store doesn't update weekly promotions in a timely manner, creating all kinds of confusion. read more

Overall a good store. They usually have everything I need and tend not to be out of a lot of items. It's not super busy like a lot of other stores in the area so I can get in and out fairly quickly. The reason for 3 stars is the produce is hit or miss. read more

Beware of expired items. I sent hubby out for gripe water for our infant on 12/27/2019 and he came back with one that expired on 12/26/2019. There doesn't seem to be a system to check and make sure items are not expiring soon/ discard of expired. read more

This location has some great advantages and features. It's green, has a place to plug in electric cars, it's rarely busy, and the employees are very customer service oriented. On the downside, the selection is somewhat limited. No beer or wine. Really minor things since there is a nice liquor store in the same town center and the limited selection can be worked with. The really nice thing is that they will help you load your groceries if you ask. I don't need anybody to load mine, but it's nice that they offer that. Prices are slightly higher on some things, but are generally pretty reasonable. My biggest complaint is no fault of the store, but something about the customer base here makes it too difficult to walk 10 feet to return a cart. How rude and lazy is that? I always see some poor employee out there trying to gather carts from all over the lot. The store does try to keep it under control. It's not hard people! This place is nice because it's new and clean, but I have never ever seen a grocery store with so many expired items on the shelves. I've gotten home several times before realizing I bought an expired item, and I've seen additional expired items COUNTLESS times on the shelves. Please, staff, I beg of you. I love it there. The staff are super nice and are more than willing to help locate an item. S&S has never been known for great produce but this location is better than most. The kale is always fresh and meat market has good prices; something is always on sale. The design of the store, from the parking lot to the floor and flowers above the refrigerators really adds to the premium feel of the location. One thing: it is always empty. I have been there many times and I am always wondering where everyone is! I hope it stays around! read more

This grocery store is in a great location, it has a great variety and if you peapod they now offer a pick up service where you can pull up and have the groceries put in your car! I also love it because they have FREE PLUG IN STATIONS!!!! I haven't seen anyone else use them but myself, but it makes it so that I can travel roundtrip from my house on electric! read more

They do not handle food in sanitary ways. I went there at 8:15am nothing was put out on the shelves then the person behind the counter proceeded to take 3 frozen donuts out of the fridge from cardboard boxes, put them on the filthy trays the boxes were transported on, then put them in a bag and handed them to me! Location is great but Deli service is painfully slow. It takes no less than 30 minutes to order a total of 3 pounds of meat.

The newest, most reasonable grocery store in Wayland. Used to be JUST Whole Foods and Donelan's. Now, as this new, large, "downtown" shopping center opened, Stop&Shop decided to open an ordinary grocery store in wonderful Wayland. Very useful as Stop&Shop is my favorite grocery store, and before this, there wasn't a Stop&Shop close to this area. Being in Wayland, the store exterior is very pretty and the interior has that "remodeled" look all stores hope and beg for over time. This location is a Super Stop&Shop, but it MUCH smaller than my local store (18 aisles here and 25 in my local store). Some of the staff seemed knowledgeable, but some didn't (everyone who works at Stop&Shop should know where everything is, especially a broad topic like bottled water!). At checkout there wasn't nearly enough staff and management thought it would be more important to put up a display than go open up some more registers. The guy at self checkout was friendly, and they had a ton of those cool scanners I love. The store was very busy, affecting in my experience not being nearly as pleasant as I would have hoped for. But the selection is the best for Wayland at the best prices. . . .I guess (the prices were a good amount more than my local, but still being less than Whole Foods). For example, saltines are one of my favorite snacks, I eat them daily and buy them often. In my local (amazing) Stop&Shop in Walpole, they are precisely $1.89, for the Stop&Shop brand at regular price. At the Wayland Stop&Shop the same product was priced for $2.49 at regular price. Whatever, not too big of a deal, but I won't being doing a full grocery shopping here any time soon. Plus, with the wait I can understand why an average person (or anyone that has been to the Walpole Stop&Shop, and experience the service there) would be disappointed with the Wayland Stop&Shop. My suggestions for this store: add more checkout staff, keep less displays in the aisles so 2-way traffic is possible, get rid of the high prices, and try to make sure all of the staff are knowledgable. Overall, it's fine for convenience and a good stop in the Wayland Town Center development and fine for some groceries for residents in the area. For me, it's not as amazing. 3 stars. read more

Awesome grocery store that is now closer to my house and has good produce. The only downside? They don't sell wine or beer.

Great customer service experience. On Sat 4/26, I could not find a meat item (bone marrow) in the usual spot. I went to the counter and the individual (person 1) thought is was being shipped the next day and then checked (person 2) and told me it was coming later that day. About 15 minutes later when I was getting ready to check-out, (person 1) found me and said that it just arrived and there'd be some ready soon. When I went back to the meat counter (person 2) saw me and switched what he was doing to cut and package my item. I was very impressed.......Not to mention that this purchase was just for slightly more than $2. read more

New design "green" grocery store utilizing 600 solar panels; separate parking for charging electric cars ( a bonus so that other cars don't park in those spaces); 45% energy saved in special energy efficient lighting and thermal refrigerated doors. Many great design features. Aisles are a bit more narrow, allowing space for more shelving with merchandise and the selection seems more expansive. No on site coffee; no onsite bank at this time; no on site pharmacy. Floral department is one of the best in chain and well staffed. This store does not have a specific aisle for weekly specials and no aisle devoted to books and magazines. Some design flaws: difficulty finding carriages and hand baskets at one of the entrances. There are two entrances that are not far apart yet customers seem lost and unable to find the exit. I have to think they are disoriented by the design. The bakery and deli departments do not allow for enough room for foot traffic and already bottle neck develops with shoppers. Compounding the problem is that juice and dairy items are by the bakery and if one or two shoppers stop and linger there is a disruption of foot traffic. The parking lot is new and flat so no rolling carts to be expected and unlikely to have puddles of ice forming with bad drainage. The store has been open only 6 days so far so will see how things work out. The five cent credit for each reusable bag brought in is being discontinued and I don't know if it is just at this location or for the entire chain. So far the employees are responsive and cheerful with many inexperienced new hires. Worth a visit. Prices are consistent with entire chain. Interior decorations are warm and designed to provide a small town grocer image, but it is still a box store. This is a good suburban shopping alternative to what has existed for years in the town. read more

We were very excited to have a grocery store option. When it first opened, this Stop and Shop was great. Some items were limited but we figured it was because it was new. Now, the quality and selection have decreased markedly. Produce is poor quality. Product selection is far more limited than it was. It is a shame as they have the opportunity to draw many from the other grocery stores in the area. read more

Service is awful. Tried to pay in self pay but didn't have a card and didn't see the "forgot card" button. A lady that looked like a manager gave me grief in a rude manner for it. Once I was at the register, Shirley, a very rude woman just threw the boxes of food I was buying, once i told her "you might break the crackers when You throw them like that" she just grabbed the next box and threw it.
