last week I returned 3 items at customer service with receipts. I was asked to show my ID. So presented my Drivers license and the lady started to write down in a book all my personal information. I asked why, and she replied because I returned something in the past. I find this a security issue with all my personal information in a book where everyone can look at my information. Additionally, I called Stop & Shop's HQ and explained to the Representative in the consumer affairs department that it's a security and a harassment issue. I was informed that someone will call me back and thus far i heard no feedback. I shop all over and return many items and never experienced such a horrible event like this. This is a very bad Store illegal policy and have to see what the Suffolk's legislature the NY Attorney General have to say about this. Big disappointment! read more

I want to give a review on the pick up section of Stop and Shop Rocky Point. I pick my groceries up every Friday after work. The young people that I deal with on a weekly basis are AMAXING!!! It doesn't matter who answers the call or bring my groceries out. They are all courteous and polite and friendly. In fact I work in Coram but go out of my way to go to the Rocky Point store just for the great employees you have in your pick up department. This location is OK at best. Produce goes bad very quickly. No longer buy my produce here, after bringing back things numerous times for mold. Cold cuts also..slimy within couple of days. Prices ehhh. You can get better Boars Head sales at Cow Palace or Handy Pantry nearby. It's a shame. Was excited to get one closer to home, but the Miller Place location blows this one away. They finally updated this grocery stores bakery section which is why I gave it five stars. I always loved stop & shop line of stores because their bakery is the best I have found fo a grocery store. However, when this store first turned into one the bakery section was terrible. Now they have unique cakes and unusual items. Stopped in for a couple of last minute Thanksgiving items. Picked up a box of 4 muffins which rung up at $2.99 each. I thought it had to be a mistake and asked the "helper" at the self checkout. I was told "prices have gone up"!? No kidding! Tell me something new! I was then told if I had selected a box of all the same muffins it would be cheaper? Why? Isn't a muffin a muffin? Plus I packed them saving you time and $! Ripoff. Go to Dunkin and save some $ for much better muffins. Prices here are out of control. The staff at this particular Stop N Shop are top notch! Whether you need help in the deli area or vegetables. Meat or dairy and even in self check out! Every single person that I encountered not was knowledgeable about their department they went above and beyond to help, look at back stock , help with a scanner that went haywire to even looking up options for a vegetable that was rare and had many more options than I knew about from looking on the website. The managers should be commended for training their staff not only on stocking product but knowing their department and how to give superior customer service to their customers! I frequent this supermarket and today ( 5/1) I was in the self checkout aisle. I needed some help with putting in produce and asked for some assistance and the teenager/college student walked over and had a certain look on her face. She didn't say anything as I asked her for help and proceeded to just type in something and I said, " Thank you" and she just looked at me and walked away. As I saw her walk away she muttered something under her breath and covered her face. Now, I can think of this situation in many different ways and as an educator of public schools for the past 20 years, I needed to write this review and will continue to do so, as needed. As an Asian American and being very vigilant about what is occurring currently within the states #stopasianhate, I felt deep in my gut, that ( and nobody can argue my experience and how I felt) it was because of my race. I saw her helping other people and it was not the same. This is just a suggestion to shoppers in this store. Wait until the cashier completes your order, check the receipt carefully and then bag. You have to bring bags anyway which is a good thing. Why not take your time. The heck with the lines. I was charged for several items NOT purchased and did not notice these errors until I got home and unpacked the order. For example a very little fresh cabbage rang up as broccoli and was $4.95 a pound! A box of spaghetti was entered as a type of gourmet sauce and became $5.69 for a 1 pound box. The way I see it I was ripped off for $10.00. Just watch the register carefully and don't be in a hurry. I miss Food Town. So far have had to bring back fruit that spoiled in one day, cheese with mold when open package at home. The check outs with turn styles you can't group your food ie: diary/frozen/meats cashier puts it in bags hap hazard. I'm leaving my review on Yelp because their survey website takes me all over the place EXCEPT to a legitimate survey (I wonder how many real people are actually "winning" that $500?). I totally agree with the majority of reviewers who state that they've been overcharged, produce and deli are disgusting, and customer service is non-existent. After my last trip to this S & S, which is closer to my home, I will, from now on, only shop at the Miller Place location. I wonder how much longer the Rocky Point location will remain open, given the fact that it's being run the same way as the former Foodtown and Waldbaum's. The only thing that's changed is the name, but it's still the same poorly managed store. In addition to my above complaints, I want to inform everyone that they allow PETS in this store. I've complained on numerous occasions, to many different managers, about the unsanitary conditions in allowing animals in a food establishment, not to mention that it's against the law. Their responses run the gamut of "I'm not aware of any such law", to "If we don't let them in the store, we'll lose their business and they'll go somewhere else". ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? Yes this stop and shop has nasty customer service and the fruits and vegetables don't last very long and you need to make a loan to buy them and the "organic" items have taken up the store with useless garbage that's high priced but this is in all Stop & Shops.
