There was an impressive array of Portuguese sausages and New England-focused seafood like scup and steamers. I couldn't partake in these cooking-focused offerings but I did pick up Portuguese chocolates and Little Rhody and Granny Squibb's iced teas. The cheese ends appeared to be a great deal at $1.73 but realistically I wasn't up for eating 0.87 of a pound of cheese at the hotel. I came here by bus and offer no opinion about the parking lot but regret the minutes of my life reading about terrible drivers who downgraded the store primarily because of other bad drivers. It's great to see actual friendly cashiers instead of self-checkout. All or nearly all of the aisles were in use.

I lived here for over a year before I discovered this store; I can't believe it took me so long. It has become a ritual to stop in here every Saturday with one of the girls from work. I enjoy their produce and am always finding something interesting to buy and try. It's not a huge store but it's not in a huge town either. Prices are a little up there but I find that is normal when you are shopping at an organic store and I think it is worth it. Plus I like the idea of supporting a local business. I also like buying gifts here when I take a trip back to the west coast for my patents. Last time I visited I took them cranberry honey, cinnamon honey and maple butter (so yummy on French toast). I definitely recommend stopping by whether you live in the area or just visiting for the summer.

From my basic understanding of the New Bedford area, this embodied the definition of the locale. Small grocery with a great deli. Smells like a fresh butcher shop immediately upon entry. I pieced it together they were fisherman and their cards were short on funds and they couldn't pay for lunch. The owner told the lady at the counter to take their name, phone number, and name of the boat they were on, and to come back tomorrow with the cash. Thumbs up to you good sir.
