I'm that girl who thinks that my hair is my best feature, its long thick and wavy blonde. It used to be that I would go all the way to San Francisco for a great cut and color at least twice a year... until, one day, I took a leap of faith. I canceled my appointment in the city and called Stony Point Studio to make an appointment with Salym. Okay, it wasn't a total leap of faith. It's a long story but fate brought us together, I'll leave it at that. Salym is a woman who loves what she does and it comes out in her work. She's a true artist with hair and she has a gift with people too. I love visiting her at the salon and I love the way my hair looks when I leave. She's extremely knowledgeable and skilled and she can do almost anything I ask her to do with my hair. I'm so happy to have found a local salon and hairdresser who I feel confident in and who I am excited to visit. I often make appointments before I even need them just to visit this salon and Salym. The whole feel of this salon is pretty wonderful considering it's a larger salon. I can't vouch for the skill level of any of the other stylists, but everyone is always helpful, fun and kind. read more

I've had my hair cut by other people but I just can't find anyone better than Irene. She is so sweet and of course, talkative. I usually like to wait a week before I decide I like or hate a haircut, but this time I didn't need a week. I have struggled with my curly hair for as long as I can remember and have never been able to wash and wear it- even after paying 100$ for Deva Cuts. For the first time ever, the day after my haircut with Erica Anderson, I was able to wash, put my products in, air dry and go. I was floored. The cut she gave me has given life to my curls in a way I've never seen before. They are no longer weighted down without a shape , but bouncy and full of perfect layers that give lots of volume. Do NOT go to Irene at stony point. I came here with an open mind to get red and brown hair color removed from the bottom of my hair. I have naturally Lon bling hair that comes below my chest and down my lower back. When asked how much I'm willing to remove, I said no more than 3". And when she showed my hair to me, pulling it to the side, it was about 3". However, after cutting it behind my back, it was below my shoulders but at least 4-5". Now, hair is a woman's pride, and once mine was gone, and $190 later, I was not happy. Please take my advice. If you are unsatisfied with your service here, you will not get a refund or any sense of compromise. :( read more

My hair is very curly and has a mind of it's own and she can cut it so it looks great with minimal effort on my part. The color she mixes is custom and fits me perfectly. For as long as I can remember I have gone to super cuts or great clips. Sometimes the haircuts from these places wouldn't come out very well, to put it nicely. Since I have been seeing Marlica at Stony Point Studio I have had no problems what so ever with my haircuts. In fact, I get compliment after compliment regarding my hair. Erica is beyond fabulous. She takes (and successfully untangles) my junglely mane and transforms it into something manageable and equally stylish. Andrea is awesome! The first time I came here was about 3.5 years ago and it was very last minute. My girlfriend had a hair appointment with Andrea and I knew I needed a cut, so I popped by and while my friend had her color setting, Andrea cut my hair and I loved it. I'm terrible at getting regular trims so the next time I came in was several months later to cut off and donate 14 inches. Andrea took her time and did it right and I loved my cut. I also mailed off tidy little ponytails of hair to Locks of Love and felt confident that nothing had been wasted. Fast forward maybe 2+ years (we both had babies in the time that had gone by), I returned and Andrea trimmed my hair nicely and opened my eyes to the fact that I could curl my hair and it'd be easier, faster, and better for my hair. Duh! I got so used to flat ironing my hair everyday, that I never even thought about curling it and using the natural wave in my hair to my benefit. I've since figured this whole curling thing out, got a Hot Tools Marcel iron, and love my hair in a whole new way. I plan to be better about regular trims and I plan to only get them from Andrea. :) read more

I have been getting my hair done by Erica for years - and I love her! She does a fabulous job. My color always turns out just the way I want it, and I never leave crying because I don't like my haircut (before Erica that happened on more than one occasion). She recently moved to Stony Point Studios and the place has such a wonderful feeling. Everyone there is so friendly and professional. There is plenty of parking right out in front of the salon. There are not enough stars to rate the talent of Salym, she is amazing. I have been her customer for about 3 years, she keeps me looking so good I get compliments all the time. Lately I have wanted to stop coloring my hair for several reasons but I did not want the roots to show or the gray that is permanently around my face and Salym made that possible. She told me she had a dream about doing my hair in foils and when she was finished high and low lighting my hair I had not signs of roots, I was amazed.
