Recently visiting out of state from Napa California and was starting to feel a little homesick…read more Pleasant Valley Farm and Vineyard came highly recommended by my partners parents. We loaded up and headed out! The property is stunning and very picturesque, with plenty of seating for small & larger parties both inside and outside; including shaded patio seating. The staff was absolutely friendly and a delight. Helen and Janet were phenomenal. They gave us a history of the property, answered any questions we had about the process of the wine making, and checked in on us multiple times. Keeping the good vibes going! They have 12 drinks to try; 10 wines and two ciders, and sampling can be done various ways. You can purchase three tastings for $8, purchase by the glass or by the bottle. Additionally they have both a nonalcoholic and slushes with alcohol. Which was pretty sweet and refreshing on a hot day and already has us craving another one. Oh can't forget they also have some delectable ice cream bar flavors like strawberry lemon cake! I sampled all of the wines and two ciders. My favorite wines were the Itasca, Petite Peal, and Chambourcin. The Chambourcin reminds me of a flat version of the sparkling red they serve at Domaine Chandon, so I picked up a bottle to bring back home to a friend in California. I recommend paying for the charcuterie board as well as it pairs nicely with the wines. The cheeses, fruit and olives were all fresh and tasted great. Big thank you to Helen and Janet, for making our first trip up so special. Will be back for sure when in the area and will start recommending to all of our friends & family.

We arrived with a larger group of 9 from a conference and it was already fairly busy, but the bartender was a pro and explained the process quickly and took everyone's orders easily. By the time we waited in line to our purchase our items, the tastings were ready - it was fast! I tried the blueberry wine (perfectly persuasive copy!) and the two ciders. For me it was the ideal tasting experience. The salty nuts were just the right complement to the flavors of the wine and cider. The live music guitar player created a lovely ambiance. The views of the winery are gorgeous. Go. Enjoy. Highly recommend!

As soon as we walked in, it was a large barn and had a very rustic feel. We were instantly greeted by a very friendly gentleman who told us all about the winery. We then went and sat done to order a flight of wine each. I had their Diamond '47, Ruby Red Sipper, Cherry and Peach wines. The first two were very nice dry red wines. They would go great with a meal. The last two were very good relaxing wines on a hot day. Overall, the wines were good. There is also a large outdoor area for seating and signs stated they had live music ever Friday with a $5 cover charge. I would like to go back and enjoy those nights. I enjoyed the stop at the winery. The staff was very friendly and the wine was good. They have a large variety available, including wine slushes. I will definitely stop back next time I am in town.

It was Friday night and probably right around dinnertime, so the place was packed! We had a hard time even finding seats available in the courtyard that was facing the stage, but eventually found some for our party of 5. The layout of this market & winery is right off the side of the road, you enter through the barn where there's a whole gift shop up front, then a few bars stationed throughout the barn where you can order from. Since there was the live entertainment, there were a ton of servers in the courtyard milling about taking your orders once you found a spot, so we ordered that way once we sat down and then as we left, came back into the barn to close out our tabs and whatnot. Given that I don't drink due to being allergic to alcohol, I can't speak to how good the drinks were, but I judge these wineries on their ability to provide for non-alcoholic customers given that surely all wineries have seen their fair share of DDs and whatnot! I'm pleased to report that this winery makes SLUSHIES (both wine slushies and non-alcoholic ones - they had blue raspberry in the mixer going while we were here) and that was an absolutely delightful surprise! That's definitely a huge plus knowing that this winery went above and beyond to provide for their non-drinkers and I seriously appreciated that! Normally, that would be more than enough for me to award this establishment with 5 stars, but unfortunately I had to remove a star for the quality of the live entertainment provided. The lead singer of the band was spouting a lot of very uncomfortable rhetoric between his songs that really ruined the otherwise jovial mood and ambiance that Fox Barn has to offer. This made us want to leave as soon as we finished all our drinks, so we honestly left within the same hour that we arrived, which was disappointing. I would highly recommend that Fox Barn better vet their live performers before putting them on stage so as not to alienate their customers in any which way. My friends did pick up a few bottles of wine to take to-go though and bought a wine opener from the gift shop right at the entrance as we were getting ready to go as well. The drinks were enjoyed throughout the rest of our evening back at our campground and throughout the rest of our weekend, which is probably a testament to the drinks at Fox Barn. This is somewhere we would definitely stop by again, provided there is no live entertainment when we're stopping by!

Being from SW Michigan where we can get to about 50 wineries in less than 40 minutes, I wasn't expecting Cascade Winery to be in an industrial type complex. But I was pleasantly surprised that the tasting room was pretty nice and quite large. They have lots of seating in the tasting room and another room for private events. Our pourer was the son of the owner. He was very knowledgeable and fun to speak with. We tried all the reds, a few whites, and a specialty wine. They were all very good. Cascade Winery doesn't grow their own grapes. A good portion come from Michigan and others come from California. The winery is also known as the Jaden James Brewery. We did not taste any of their beers or their mead. We came home with three bottles - Raspberry Chocolate Silk, Symphony Blush, and a Cabernet Sauvignon. I'm excited to share them with my friends.

I'm gluten free, so the beers were a no-go, but I did enjoy a nice selection of wine (the red blend was my favorite) and hard ciders (a mix of raspberry and strawberry was nice and mellow, but the blueberry hard cider was great as well). We also were able to try the jalapeño wine. Not what I was expecting, but a great experience and a new taste! The atmosphere here is nice and down to earth. I felt very comfortable and the people behind the counter are really friendly, and eager to help. I'll come back here for some relaxing time to enjoy a nice glass of wine or cider.
