The server was friendly and helpful pouring our various orders. We enjoyed our samples outside on their picnic tables On property they had apple trees, some raspberries and a small vineyards. The server said the fruit was used in their product. What a wonderful layout. On tap they offered an IPA, a raspberry shanty, a cream ale and hard cider. I sampled both the cream ale and the cider. The Sandbar Cream Ale was a very enjoyable light ale. Golden in color with a nice foamy head. Nice aroma with a wonderful taste. I will be sure to get a pint in the future. I ordered a pint of the hard cider. Clean, light golden in color. Very slight carbonation. Nice apple aroma and taste. Made with Honey Crisp apples. Semi sweet. Very nice cider We will be sure to come back here. Hey, you need a name for that nice cider. Returned back Aug 2018. Still love the place. My wife shared the Sangria with her friend and loved it, made fresh daily with fruit. I tried The Cabin. Good nose, fruity. Low on tannins. Very smooth flavor. Easy drinking wine. We will be back next year

They have some outdoor activities for the summertime, which is cool. My only beef is that it's cash only. I'm not wanting to carry a lot of cash, I tend to use a credit card so it's always a little bit of a pain when I go there just for that reason.

They have three choices at the fish fry (perch, cod or shrimp) and you can choose a wet or dry batter (basically either a beer batter or a thinner bread batter) along with a variety of sides. Now, I've been to fish places all over the country, and I'm not saying this dining hall is akin to any high end seafood experience you could find in Miami, New York or Los Angeles, but for a very small town fish dinner, this is definitely a must. Our party of 4 truly enjoyed our meal, but watching all of the locals welcome each other, along with visitors like us, was what made this night special. The long dinning tables allow people to meet new friends, and the volunteer staff does a great job making everyone feel at home. So, if you're lucky enough to be visiting Hale, Michigan and you need so food on a Friday night, this is your spot!
