She had a skin issue that was making her gnaw at her fur and it got very matted within literally three days and with infected sores. The doctor pointed out that I couldn't prove that the matting didn't come first- insinuating that it was because she is due for a grooming.... which is why we are here in the first place to be seen to make a grooming appointment.....they basically didn't believe me that she had been experiencing a skin irritation prior to this that made her hair extremely matted in that spot. I would be willing to remove this review if my next visit proves to be better- they also tried to make me muzzle her myself and I had to go back to get them to put on the cone collar when I couldn't get it on her... meaning this is something they should already be doing for the price of the visit. There was just a sort of negative energy all around and I really hope it can be improved. It's not just about serving the dogs- it's customer service. The best part was when the girl shoved my dog's shaved off fur into my face rudely to show as proof of my maltreatment of my dog, seemingly. Steve- what specifically was said? It was the way she said it and her tone - was nasty. Hope that makes sense. The appointment setter said nothing I had experienced had happened and hung up on me. Steve- more specific things- the girl from the start mentioned it had been six months since she'd been seen and so she'd need to restart one vaccine. She then mentioned it again a few times and seemed angry. She also seemed annoyed because she asked if I wanted an estimate- I said I think it's 250 right? And she said no it's not that's why I asked if you wanted an estimate in kind of a rude way...I said ok sure ( in my mind I was like why not just have the estimate ready and hand it to me lol?). I said my dog needed dental surgery bc my last doc called it that-plaque removal- and she argued that no it's not surgery in a very pissed off way it felt to me. Then she brought the fur as a trophy and seemed to be shoving it in my face and seemed mad about it- she kept saying it was matted do you see? As if I can't see it.... I don't think this is great customer service do you? When I said she needed to back off basically and get out my face lol she angrily slammed a book/ laptop (it was startling so I wasn't paying attention to what it was) on the desk. Edit- these people are lying. Look at all the negative reviews they have. They are the ones who are inappropriate and rude- don't ever go here- I will never take this down. Years ago, I initially brought Sinatra in because he was urinating outside the litter box and showing clear signs that something was wrong. The practice owner evaluated him, but kidney disease was not diagnosed at that visit. Months later, after his symptoms continued and worsened, I returned and another veterinarian performed more thorough bloodwork and acknowledged that the kidney disease had been missed previously. Fast forward to the last several weeks of his life: I contacted the office repeatedly over approximately three weeks because his condition was declining and I was trying to get him seen before things became critical. Despite this, the only appointment option ever offered was a last-minute opening with roughly one hour notice. That was it. I understand emergency hospitals and Tufts exist, but the entire reason I kept calling his regular veterinary office was because I was trying to avoid putting a chronically ill cat through the stress and expense of emergency care while his condition steadily deteriorated. Ultimately, we had to euthanize Sinatra elsewhere over the holiday weekend. Maybe the outcome would not have changed. But between the missed diagnosis earlier in his disease progression and the lack of meaningful support or effort during his decline, I cannot honestly say I felt this office provided the level of care, urgency, or communication that a sick animal and grieving owner deserved. She went in for s dental cleaning that could not be done because her blood pressure dropped to unsafe levels. I was told that her teeth could be treated with antibiotics. I called 3 times and went there twice. Never got a call back so i decided to change vets and was seen the same day. A week later Dr Masuco called but it was a week to late. My dog is towards the end of life and not what i expected from them. Some (not all) of the girls at the desk are rude and dont care about the animals just a paycheck and apparently the vets dont check messages. I really didn't want to change but they left me no choice. If your pet is close to end if life be careful. Very disappointed
