The first thing that will strike you about this place is how cool it looks! There is seating inside which also fits in with the trendy look. The menu is one of the best things about this place. It's huge! There's breakfasts, sandwiches, wraps and much more. There is plenty of option for vegetarians too. On this occasion I decided to try the halloumi and mushroom wrap. It was a hot wrap and mushroom has been freshly fried. The ingredients tasted fresh and not over powering. Great balance with a hint of sweet chilli sauce and some sort of mayonnaise too! The pricing here is also great! I paid £3.50 for my wrap and it sure was filling! If your looking for a quick lunch fix this in the jewellery quarter I recommend this place!

It is simply not open on weekends, and is not on my short walk to work! I went in this morning and was quickly welcomed by the owner, he was chatty and polite making me my coffee while I had a look around. I have to say the coffee was average, but how friendly the staff are makes up for that. If you want some friendly chat and a warm welcome to start your day, this place is worth a try.

This great cafe offers such a large and appealing selection, from hot and cold, your spoilt for choice! They do great tailor made breakfasts, sandwiches, salad boxes, corporate and business lunches, omelette's, jacket potatoes, homemade samosas and pakoras, to homemade milkshakes, soups, pasties and also have a nice but small selection of cakes. I like the fact that they cater for business's too covering office parties, Hot Roasts and also offer a delivery service. This place is amazing because of the great exceptional food and flavour combinations that you can have, which I think are unique for our city! If you want fresh avocados in your salad you can, or Mexican Tuna, sauteed mushrooms, or why not try their beetroot with falafel ( only an extra 25p each ) in your baguette! They're open 7am-3pm, Monday to Friday, you can eat inside on the stools, or take away. I guarantee that you'll be back, I love coming here and you'll be glad of supporting a wonderful and exceptional business in the heart of our city.

The decoration here is excellent, mismatched furniture gives a really cozy and friendly feel to the restaurant area and a great selection of light background music creates and laid back feel...perfect for Sunday! I decided to have the scrambled eggs and smoked salmon. The eggs and salmon were excellent but were sadly let down by sliced white bread with no option to change to brown or granary when ordering. I came in here for lunch and made the mistake of not grabbing a table and looking at the menu before ordering so I was faced with the blackboard over the serving counter which is chock-full of all-day breakfast options, sandwiches and salads. In a slight panic and a bit overwhelmed, I decided on a "croque monsieur (or as we Brummies know it - ham & cheese toastie)" - that is actually what it's called! Although I just said 'croque monsieur' myself. Oh and I ordered an americano too. It all came to under £5 so that in itself was a pleasant surprise. My order taken, I was told to take a seat and the food would be right over. I took that opportunity to visit the toilet, which was clean if a little basic and unisex, not that I have a problem with that. That taken care of, I didn't have to wait long for my drink to arrive and my food followed shortly after - it looked delicious! I took a quick snap for Yelp but I couldn't wait to dig in. I wasn't disappointed either - the cheese was nicely melted and the ham tasted like it was good quality. I appreciated the choice of white or brown bread too as I'm a big fan of brown bread. My americano was also tasty - not bitter and nice and strong, just like it should be. I would definitely come back here for coffee. As I'm sitting here working and Yelp!ing, the smell wafting over is divine - this may be the only down side as I'm getting hungry again! To top it all off, there's free wifi and power points, the atmosphere is homely and the decor is eclectic. In short, I love it. [EDIT] Unfortunately I've had to remove a star from my review because the Wi-Fi wasn't suitable for Skype meetings. It was servicable for other, less intensive work but stear clear otherwise!

The store was really understaffed when I came in, it felt like they were ready to shut in the middle of the day with no manned tills or counters, the store was even really dark to get around (perhaps a power outage in part of the store), yet there was no staff members apologising or offering assistance. Other reviews suggest it isn't even a lighting issue and it has been going on for weeks and months, which surely makes no sense: as someone who visits Sainsbury's stores across England and Wales, I've not seen anything like it. I couldn't get any of the items I came in for which strangely were on sale in a smaller Sainsbury's store on Colmore Row, it is a large supermarket but I just wasn't impressed with the selection. The ramped enterance into the store remains dangerous and is an accident waiting to happen as it involves a sharp and narrow corner blocked by a wall, I really don't know how health and safety approved it as it is too narrow to have two lanes and all it takes is to people coming up at the same time (and then unable to go back) and BANG. The store really does need to review their staffing levels, ramped enterance and lighting as a matter of urgency.

For £2.95 you can have yourself a medium salad bowl packed full of bean, beetroot, red pepper, chickpea and other salads which I have to say tastes great! Big shouts to the pea and mint salad which gives the whole bowl freshness and a whole load of extra flavour....I strongly recommend going in on that scoop for a lunchtime win! I know you are thinking.....supermarket salad bowl.....it's going to be rubbish.....but this one shames other supermarkets. I need to say that compared to Morrisons dried out salads this is on another level. If you want a cheap lunch on the move and want to be healthy in a savage world of burger temptation.....give this a go.

There is not seats in this bakery so expects it to be a grab your food and eat else where kind of place. It doesn't bother me at all because I am usually taking the food away. Looking for an excuse to feel like a sophisticated vintage connoisseur, without actually knowing…read moreanything about wine? Then Loki is the place to be. Hidden away in the charmingly historic Great Western Arcade in the centre of Birmingham, this spot is a gem--like a treasure chest full of wine, with little tasting notes as the map. The magic happens with the tasting machines, where you can try up to 40 wines by the glass--not all at once, you rascal! Want to sample a few without committing to a whole bottle? You can try sips for around £1. It's a great way to find your new favorite drop without the commitment anxiety. Plus, they have these super cool self-service Loki cards, or you can (as I did) trade your credit card for a temp. Get guidance from the lovely staff if you're overwhelmed by all the choices (I was). The selection is as diverse as it is vibrant, with wines from all over the world, and the best part? They're all served at the exact temperature the makers intended--no warm, sad wine here. Looking for sweet wines, my partner and I enjoyed an airy Gewürztraminer, a super fantastic vintage port from Warre, and a delightful coffee-noted port from Penfolds. I also sampled a yummy, peppery and full-bodied Shiraz. While I didn't try the food, the menu looks like it would be the perfect pairing with any glass you pick. Cheese boards, meat boards, olives, focaccia, you know the stuff. Whether you're an aficionado or a casual enthusiast (like me), Loki Wine is a great spot for a laid-back yet luxurious experience. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in Brum.

If you have a question about wine or need a recommendation he will help you! 2. The beautiful location in Great Western Arcade. The store itself is exceptionally stylish too, all wood shelves, tables made from barrels and a lovely upstairs seating area. 3. It's not just a shop- you can try wines too. You can pick up a card, load it with money, pop the card into the amazing wine dispenser (!) select a small or large taster or a whole glass, and the wine is dispensed into the wine glass you have taken from the rack above. There's a variety of decent reds and whites available. These are good quality wines so a full bottle isn't a cheap option. So having the option to have a good sized sample for anything from 90p-£2 means you can feel more confident buying the whole bottle. So when you've picked a glass of wine you like, you can take it upstairs, sit on the seats, order a cheese or meat board (from Anderson and Hill across the way) and have a completely relaxing afternoon. Even the olive oil is amazing. Highly recommended.
