Adina was great! Knowing it was her first ride she sent pictures and videos of the horse she would be riding prior to the lesson so she could get to know the pony. She first taught her how to groom and saddle the pony. Then came lessons in the arena to learn commands and then a guided trail ride. Our granddaughter felt confident and successful and cannot wait to do it again. The horses are well trained and Adina is great with kids. I've been around competitive show barns for almost 20 years and I was so happy riding at Hunter's Run. The lesson horses are sturdy, reliable, and FUN. The staff and boarders are welcoming, friendly, and knowledgeable. The facility is beautiful, her ring has great footing, and the covered area is a godsend with the Washington weather. I personally took lessons with Meghann. She was fantastic to work with. She was easy to communicate with. She listened to me and was able to quickly cater to my learning style. It's been a long time since I've been so confident on a horse and it's absolutely from her guidance (and awesome lesson horses.) Hunter's run quickly became my happy place and I had a huge smile on my face the entire time I was there. Unfortunately, I'm moving out of the area or I would be a lifer here. After four lessons, with zero input, I regretfully let her know that this would be my last lesson with her. Here's what followed: My mother, who's now fully into Alzheimer's, and her partner who's just passed, insisted on coming to see my last riding lesson. I begged them to let me go alone, but noooo. So after this harridan in a ponytail let me embarrass myself to her roaring critique of my admittedly horrible habits, she gets on my sour lesson horse and shows everyone how great SHE can ride!!! So when I purchased Hawk I was so excited to back into horses once again. I thought I had done enough by taking lessons a couple of years before I bought him to prepare myself for having a horse of my own. Although Hawk unfortunately was not as trained as I was told, I still believed he was the horse for me. The timing was really Good for me too. My dad just met Hawk just two days before my dad passed away. Having Hawk in my life at this time was very special and healing. Before I met Ann, Hawk and I while getting to know each other had a bad accident. While out riding early spring some sprinklers came on near us and spooked Hawk which resulted in both of us falling over and my ankle getting was crushed underneath him. After all of this Hawk and I really needed help. I needed to regain my confidence again and Hawk was still pretty green and needed some help as well. Before Ann I had been told by a couple of trainers here in Davis that Hawk may be to much horse for me, and to think of getting a horse more calm, older and experienced. I was devastated. I found Ann searching online in a desperate attempt to find another answer. I found Ann and she really is incredible! She was patient, listened to me and made me feel that with focus, dedication and time Hawk and I were not a wrong match. Ann is so professional. She is honest. Her approach to horse training is kind and assertive. She helped me regain my confidence. Everyday is still work and Hawk and I are doing well, but I feel confident knowing she is always there to help me when I need it. Sense I have been at the barn we're she teaches I have enjoyed watching her train other green horses. She is awesome to watch. Ann has also been giving my daughter riding lessons in hopes one day being able to ride Hawk as well. I take my clients at the Drug and Alcohol Rehab I work at here for Equine Therapy on Monday…read moreafternoon. I'm not too familiar with the whole horse stable/training/riding/etc thing, but this place seems pretty reasonable. It's $70 per client for a one hour Equine Therapy session. They (the client) learns how to take care of a horse, from walking and running it, to cleaning their hooves, to brushing it, to making the horse run laps and eventually riding the horse. It is a pretty cool process and I have learned a lot about horses myself just by showing up. The people that work here are very knowledgeable and helpful. The stables also seem very neat and clean and the horses seem happy enough. Pretty cool place to go if you're into wanting to learn to horseback ride or learn more about horses in general! Cheers!

Booked over a month out, they fill up quickly for the 90 minute rides. If you are used to WA, there is nothing scenic about this trail ride. This stable has been around a long time and now you're basically walking around looking at houses. Still had fun on my horse. The 90 minute ride includes all the time to get setup so really the ride was maybe an hour back and forth. The ride itself is at a slow place. Just a slow walk so I don't know why they say horse riding experience is required all over the description. There were 3 staff on a ride with 6 and were nice. Only strange thing is they kept giving me different directions with my horse lil Captain. The first lady said to leave his reins loose cause he bucks his head another lady said to hold it tighter and this happened a few times.

Terrible Experience with Morris's Shadow Mountains - Gift Gone Wrong - Unprofessional, Dirty, and…read moreDisrespectful Service I am writing this to share a deeply frustrating and upsetting experience I had with Morris's Shadow Mountains, which was supposed to be a joyful Christmas gift for my daughters (ages 6 and 8) from their cousin. She had purchased a Groupon for a 45-minute lesson and a 45-minute trail ride for two. My daughters were thrilled and eagerly looking forward to their adventure. Booking Nightmare- Right after receiving the gift, I tried to schedule the session for spring via Bonnie's website. The booking process was extremely confusing -- the site lacked clear instructions for Groupon users, didn't allow inputting voucher numbers, and required non-refundable booking fees per person, even though the Groupon was already paid for. Despite this, I went ahead and paid two booking fees to reserve a slot. Due to conflicts with my children's spring sports schedule, I had to reschedule, which meant paying another set of non-refundable fees. Expired Voucher, No Compassion- When our July appointment arrived, our schedule again didn't work, so I called Bonnie, who offered a Wednesday slot instead. We showed up on time, only to be greeted by an extremely dirty, chaotic, and unprofessional environment -- an unkempt property with overwhelming odor and neglected animal enclosures including a large dog pen at the entrance filled with poop that hadn't been cleaned. When I mentioned we had a Groupon, Bonnie immediately launched into a tirade about how much she hates Groupon customers, complaining that she "can't afford to run a farm on discounted rates." She claimed she couldn't find our Groupon info and refused to let my kids participate unless we paid full price. I called my cousin (who was dealing with her newborn at the time), and she tried to reach Groupon for a credit, but Bonnie insisted we had to pay upfront or leave. Despite there being only one other child there, she claimed she would lose money. The Groupon had expired since it was now 6 months after purchase. My kids left in tears. Groupon Credit Denied- To make matters worse, when my cousin followed up with Groupon, Bonnie denied the refund request, and we never received a credit -- from her or Groupon. Final Thoughts- The facility is unsanitary and unsafe. The customer service is hostile and unaccommodating. The Groupon process is misleading and full of hidden costs. The treatment of us as customers was rude, unethical, and completely unprofessional. This was supposed to be a special gift, but it turned into a heartbreaking ordeal. I will never return to Morris's Shadow Mountains and strongly advise others -- especially families and Groupon users -- to stay away.

We saw several horses and met a few named Veloce and Teddy an 18 year old mini horse. The horses are well cared for, well-behaved, well-fed and treated as partners. The staff are friendly and dedicated. We also met a horse owner and introduced us to one of his horses named Sunfire. The stable manager and his wife who is a professional horse trainer is very kind and hospitable.
