Lived in the 1000 building for roughly 1.5 years and defiantly had a good experience. Compared to other apartment complexes in Cartersville, the rent was slightly steep but it compensated for it with the quietness, cleanliness, amenities, privacy, and good neighbors. Some reviews may mention some bug problems, I have had a few in my sink towards the end of my stay but that was resolved within a few days without me having to speak out. In March of 2019 they have changed the pest control to come out monthly instead of quarterly so this may help with the issues. Staff was great, went out of their way to help me out with setting up my autopay on my rent even though it was not their responsibility. I have nothing to complain about my stay here, all I really needed was a place to sleep and the fitness center was a nice bonus. Would recommend to a friend if they were looking for a place in town. read more

I lived here for 11 months in the 600 building. It was okay, glad it was gated and the apartment was so big and cozy. But in the summer time... They're infested with bugs. When they told me my lease was ending soon I really thought about staying another year but the bugs got to be too much. I got a house and moved out. Sadly, the bugs came with me. I find them in places where I have unpacked things. Of course I called to let them know I had bugs and not once did they come up. But when my refrigerator was leaking, they were there within the hour. RAID has no effect on these bugs. I loved my time in Stone Mill, things were quiet, never any complaints or problems besides their big issue. I would recommend considering stone mill over other apartment places like the Vineyards and Somerset in Cartersville but be prepared for the bugs in the summer. read more

BEWARE DO NOT LIVE IN STONE MILL APARTMENTS IN CARTERSVILLE GEORGIA!!  Let me first start off by saying that your landlord/property manager is RESPONSIBLE for keeping your apartment/rental property in a habitable condition. Let me also state that I practice strict cleanliness in my house. There is never a dirty dish in the sink and I dedicate every Sunday in my week to cleaning and laundry and I have NEVER had a problem with bugs until I began residing here. The apartment I am currently residing in is cock roach infested. I am currently at the end my 6 month lease in which I have reached out to the leasing office over 8 times during this time span. During this 6 month term the leasing office has changed leasing agents 3 times and NOONE has been responsive to my pest problem. I moved into Stone Mill apartments on 4/6/2018 and about two weeks into the lease I noticed the cock roach infestation. I immediately notified the leasing manger and she assured me that she would have pest control come out and spray my apartment. As promised the pest control came out but then they HALFWAY sprayed my apartment and then left. I even offered to move furniture and stuff to allow the pest control to reach ever area efficiently and they denied my offers and left. After 3 weeks I still had a cock roach infestation and I returned to the leasing office to request that pest control be sent out AGAIN. I then continually requested pest control about 5 times over a 3 month period in which NOBODY showed up. I finally had to walk into the leasing office with a written formal letter requesting pest control in which I had the leasing manager sign. The leasing manager then agreed on MONDAY to have pest control come out to my apartment EVERY FRIDAY FOR A MONTH. That following Friday NOONE came to my apartment to treat the infestation!!!!! When I went to the leasing office the NEXT following week the leasing manager stated that she just simply forget to communicate with the pest control to let them know to treat my apartment!! IM PAYING 900$ A MONTH, LIVING WITH COCK ROACHES AND SHE SIMPLY FORGOT TO HAVE PEST CONTROL COME OUT!!!  That following Friday the pest control came out and HALF SPRAYED, AGAIN!!! On the third week of our agreement the pest control never showed up, AGAIN! THEREFORE, THE AGREEMENT TO HAVE PEST CONTROL TREAT MY APARTMENT EVERY FRIDAY FOR A MONTH HAS NOT EVEN BEEN FULFILLED!!! But then it gets WORSE. Now I am at the end of my 6 month lease in which the leasing office has the audacity to send me a letter stating that if I wanted to stay for another 6 months they will increase my rent by 50$ or I could sign a year lease with no increase. OFCOURSE I DON'T WANT TO SIGN A YEAR LEASE IN A BUG INFESTED APARTMENT! But I did however want to sign another 6 month lease to allow me ample time to find another place to live. WHICH MEANS I WOULD HAVE TO PAY AN EXTRA 50 DOLLARS A MONTH TO LIVE WITH FREAKING ROACHES!! I made this known to the leasing office in which the leasing manager agreed with me and told me she would talk to her boss and get back to me. At this time, I also requested that her boss call me personally because I was tired of playing telephone to get solutions and just wanted to talk to the source myself. She assured me that property manager would give me a call that following Friday afternoon. But as you already guessed, SHE NEVER CALLED!! But she did manage to tell the leasing agent that if she waived my 50$ monthly rent increase that it would not be fair to other tenants and she would end up having to waive other tenants fees as well. WHICH IS COMPLETE BULLCRAP!! ARE THOSE OTHER TENANTS LIVING WITH ROACHES? I COULD UNDERSTAND THIS LOGIC OF "FAIRNESS" IF I WAS NOT LIVING IN A COCK ROACH INFESTED APARTMENT. What the proper manager should have done was taken a "make it right approach" and waive the fee. Then, maybe I wouldn't be here writing this review. DO NOT MOVE HERE. THE MORAL TO THE STORY HERE IS THAT THE APARTMENTS (as I have seen other reviews with the same problem) ARE INFESTED WITH COCK ROACHES, THE PROPERTY MANAGEMENT AND LEASING OFFICE DOES NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR HEALTH AND SAFETY, AND THE WILL TRY TO SCREW YOU OUT OF YOUR MONEY IN ANY WHICH WAY THE CAN. Lived here for a month so far and Laura and Jimmye have been absolutely fantastic. Anytime I have had a question (regarding rent, services, packages etc) they have always been available to help with a smile on their faces. The apartment itself is a HUGE upgrade from my last place (which had the exact same monthly rate). Excellent wooden floors, brand new stainless steel appliances, great view and spacious living room and kitchen. I would recommend this complex to my closest of friends. read more

I have lived here since mid July 2016. The apartments themselves look so nice but small with very little storage available inside. The grounds attractive. Then however I moved in and the experience is not the HOME type experience I had hoped for. And I have lived happily in apartments before. Each month and each experience with management proves I can't find a new home of my own fast enough. Though I will add that the maintenance staff does go out of their way to please and does a pretty good job when they do repairs. You certainly want to think twice before choosing this as your neighborhood, especially if you are a single woman. I will be glad to explain. I have facts to back up my opinion. Current resident- Moved in with FLEA infestation and i had no pets! The apartment complex grounds are clean and the maintenance/office are very responsive. There are only two complaints: 1) The carpeting is the nastiest carpet that i have had in an apartment, EVER!. When i moved here from out of state the carpet looked decent enough, very matted down but i thought it was clean. We quickly realized that we had a flea problem that took a few months to get rid of. This meant several times being sprayed, vacuuming my carpet relentlessly twice a day for over 100 days straight, storing my vacuum cleaner on the deck, and endless loads of laundry for bedding, etc. The office offered no discount on rent for my trouble and flea bites for my kid and I-just an apology and an appointment for spraying. It's 10 months later and i am still vacuuming up an entire cat each time I vacuum. It's gross. Worst carpet ever. Insist on new carpet if you plan to move in. 2) There is no guest parking inside the complex. In fact, there aren't enough spots for residents to park in if you come in late at night when the buildings are full capacity. You are given parking stickers. Guests are towed if they park don't park in the 6 spots provided near the office. The apartments are overall okay. If you don't plan on having guests and don't mind a walk when parking at night they aren't bad. No crime issues at all. Definitely insist on new carpet. This carpet is vile. My 18 yr old refuses to walk on it bare footed. Super nasty. I move out soon so i will check back in and let you know if this review impacted me getting my deposit back or not. I just want people to know that they will keep carpet as long as possible to the point of basically the feel of no padding underneath. For $990 (which includes a flat $90/month water fee) you can do so much better. read more

Off first appearance the place seems nice. I received the first power bill at over $250 for a small 2 bedroom apartment that I hadnt fully moved into yet. It was January and I had the hvac checked where I heard several excuses. I have lived in the apartments for 6 months and have yet to have a bill under 250. The sad part is when you look at the thermostat the temperature is set in 68 the actual temperature is 84. The pool area is often so filled with people drinking out of glass bottles, smoking, and cursing I was never able to utilize it. The gated entry was often stuck open and the nearby cracker barrel was in the paper for having 10k plus dollars of car break ins. I would strongly reconsider other options. The kicker to all this, when I let them know the reasons I wanted to move they seemed glad to break the lease (I never received) as they charge 90 days rent and loss of Deposit totalling nearly 3k. read more

My time at Stone Mill was fairly uneventful until it was time to move out. Sure, I had my share of maintenance issues but for the most part my issues were taken care of promptly. Upon receipt of the apartment, I did my inspection. I was in a bit of a time crunch to get the apartment so the previous tenant moved out only days before. I was told that was (used resident by name)'s apartment so it should be clean. The only thing management had cleaned in the apartment were the carpets. I did my inspection and everything did seem clean enough. I noticed later that the last person to paint the apartment was a huge amateur with paint sprayer. The bathtub seemed satisfactory to me. It definitely looked used but nothing I didn't expect at an apartment. I lived there for a little over year with only a few issues with noise. My neighbor was a smoker and it never failed to seep into my apartment somehow under the sink. If you opened the cabinet doors under the sink, the smell would just about knock you down. I complained about it a few times but there wasn't much that could be done. My issues with Stone Mill did not arise until I moved out. On move out day, my mother spent the entire day cleaning that apartment. Everything was back to the way I received it, if not cleaner. Almost two months past and I finally remember I never received my deposit in the mail. I called and spoke with Deborah, she said she would have to look into it and call me back. I waited a few days and never received a phone call. So I call her again. She says that she pulled my file and unfortunately the tub had to be reglazed because it was too dirty for the cleaning professionals. I tell her that is impossible because I made sure everything was as clean as when I received it. There is no way that after only a year worth of use that a tub requires reglazing. She basically told me the tub was never cleaned which is false. I explained that this is some mistake because I inspected everything myself after my mother was on her hands and knees cleaning every inch. She said that it was on her inspection report and even the professional cleaners remarked at how dirty the entire apartment was. I am not in the habit of showering or bathing in a tub that is so filthy it cannot be professionally cleaned. I was appalled by the lies. I read the reviews for this place before selecting it. All around positive except there were a few reviews mentioning the scams at move out. I just figured those people may have been a little messier than they realized. I am here to reiterate what others have said before me. YOU WILL NOT GET YOUR DEPOSIT BACK. Fortunately for me, my deposit was only $150 because I have excellent credit. However, for those that don't and must pay a higher deposit amount, beware! The reglazing fee and my deposit just happen to be the exact same amount. I have a few pictures of the apartment on the day I moved out but unfortunately I took these for only memories sake. I did not take any of the bathroom. So IF you have to live here. TAKE PICTURES OF EVERY DETAIL BEFORE YOU MOVE OUT FOR PROOF. read more
