Everyone communicates so well and really goes above and beyond to treat my mother with respect and in the way that she individually needs. I get a very genuine sense of compassion from everyone on staff, even dietary. They really make sure that they take the best care of my mother possible. I could tell that this was a great place when I noticed that all of the residents seemed infinitely happier here than they did even in the extremely expensive and fancy private pay place my mother had been in before.

We hired Dedicare to help take care of our mother. The first year things were excellent. My mother…read moreloved her care givers and we were very pleased. An RN would arrive once a week for prescription refills and care givers would handle transportation to and from her doctors appointments and other errands she needed to run. After January 2021 until her passing in May of 2023 the quality of her care decreased dramatically. - Caregivers were no longer consistent. - Her medications for the week were no longer organized and filled by a nurse. Not only was this performed by a non-medical professional it was consistently billed as such. - She began to have young care givers, not even 20 years old, accompany her to appointments. Often care givers would be late, not show up, cancel her doctors appointments. - Often received bills for services not rendered. - Received calls from two of her former care givers that were no longer with the company expressing their concern for her wellbeing. They were concerned because they had grown close to my mother and would still visit her on their free time. The last two points about billing and the calls I received expressing concern for the quality of care she was receiving was early 2022 a few months before her passing. At the time we did not pursue those complaints as they had previously been voiced and we were in the process of finding a new care giver service. Sadly my mother passed shortly. 6 months after her passing I received a phone call from their owner Jim demanding that my brother and I pay a bill of $350. I was accused of ignoring his calls (which I never received) and he threatened to sue me because now that my mother has passed it is now "her kids" responsibility. I informed him that this is NOT the way the law works. I also told him that there is a legal process to submit a claim to her estate but this was absolutely not the way. The vile tone and empty threats were shocking and in no way how someone in the health care business should conduct themselves. I can't believe I would need to tell their CEO this. We are now filing official complaints to the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. At best Dedicare is unethical. Stay clear.

New management/new owners this year...seems to be a pretty seamless transition as most of the staff is the same. My mom is comfortable, clean, feels safe...they specialize in brain trauma...from Alzheimers, strokes...and it's a small home - less than 20 residents. The staff are busy...as with many businesses...no idle hands these days. They get all the residents dressed each morning, out to the central living room, showered, into pj's and into their own small private bedrooms in the evening. Physical therapist comes in frequently. These are brain trauma seniors though...catered for their very special needs. Our family is so grateful for their help and kind care. Thank you everyone at Heather Pines...we love you.

Staff complains they are too busy if asked why something was not taken care of. Seems they don't have time for anything. I wonder if any of them actually have a certification to pass medication. Gossip is a big problem here, things are just unprofessional and the Owner is part of it in my opinion. One shower for all residents & no ventable ceiling fan so the bathroom is too hot & does not vent odors because there in no window in that bathroom. It's just old & outdated and just doesn't seem to be a priority. Possibly because it is up for sale. It is less expensive that many places in the area. I was extremely disapointed in the activities. There are a few staff members that really care & are very good. Sadly, they cannot take care of everyone. I would be concerned if my loved one had any altered mental or physical condition. Also pick your own physician, homecare, hospice, etc. Your loved one has rights, do not let anyone take those away. If you are not sure, ask to see background checks, certificates, etc. Contact the state to find out information and/or with any concerns. The truth is, you get what you pay for. It's taken me two months to write this review because I miss my mom so much. She was everything to me. She was in and out of a couple places before ultimately ending up at The Bells. The first place she was at was nightmarish in their treatment. The second place had good front line help, but the management left something to be desired. So I wasn't optimistic about The Bells based on our previous track record. I was pleasantly surprised. Both the management staff and the people who care for the residents were kind, professional and compassionate on a level I didn't think was possible. My mom ended up passing while staying there, but this is why I know, without a doubt, my mom was in good care. Staff members went to my mom's funeral! She was only at The Bells for a little over a month, but in that short period of time, the staff cared so much they went to her funeral. That meant the world to me. They didn't get paid to do that. They did that because they cared. They legitimately cared about my mom. If you're like me and scouring reviews of places trying your best to make sure you put someone you love dearly in a place they'll be cared for, please let me ease your mind with my endorsement of The Bells. Having to do this is never easy, but I hope I can make it easier for someone else. I was there with my mom and saw the kindness and patience the staff had with the residents. They are simply amazing.

I have returned as needed to help those who have trouble getting out. The staff was friendly and helpful in setting up a service area and assisting as needed. The owners have been present as well, also very caring and assisting myself, staff and residents. The house was spacious, clean and they seemed to be enjoying lunch that was served while I was there. I hope to continue to provide services here regularly and would recommend this home if you have a loved one in need.

This one in 30 Mile Rd., in Washington is the closest to my house. The day prior, I called to confirm that my information was in the system and that they had all the information about what I was having done. Needless to say, what I was having done had never been done at this location before. Wow. I was going to be a "first" for them. After the employee checked with her supervisor, it was confirmed that my blood draws could in-fact be done at this location. I was informed to come in when they opened at 8am, as my samples needed to be send out immediately after at the 12pm pick up. I arrived and this is when confusion began. The ladies were very unknowing about what I was having done. Again, my procedures have never been done at this location before and they weren't even sure that could do my draws here. After 30 minutes and many phone calls on their behalf to the Henry Ford in Detroit, all was sorted out. I wasn't upset, by any means or frustrated. I knew this was a big deal and was certain my advocate would sort it out, which she and the Dr. at the Detroit location did. I had a LOT of blood drawn. Jenn, was amazing. She was careful and kind and repeatedly asked if I was ok and/or feeling ill or uncomfortable. I took it like a champ. Everything got taken care of, even if there was a few hiccups I still rate this location very high and would recommend.

I highly recommend Cory Arnold as he is personable and understanding of my pain and explains everything as I do the motions. He is currently training a younger student (I can't remember her name) and she is doing great too. I have had two other ladies Clara and I think Mary was her name. They were fantastic with helping to stretch and massage the muscles for me. I needed that badly. I highly recommend them all.
