But the result was much more, the variety of flowers, shrubs and trees, (some bearing berries for birds) is the envy of the entire neighborhood. The plants have matured into a planned "painting" of contrasting foliage. My experience is that money spent outside of the house goes further than remodel money spent inside...maybe it is the "alive" thing that plants have. I got a business card, called him up, and started trying to explain my DIY project to him on the phone. He cut me off after a couple of minutes, and suggested that I might be interested in hiring him to do a consultation at my house. His price seemed fair, so I had him come and look at my yard. He showed me what plants to keep, where to put my compost pile, and how keep my house foundation safe when putting in a new garden bed. When I needed more compost than I could make, he delivered me some. Over the years, I've recommended him to several friends, and they've all ended up happy.

We ordered a few yards of black dirt at 9am on Saturday morning and it was piled neatly at our location of choice 40 minutes later. Super clean dirt too. No debris or rubbish that you typically find in a bag of cheap black dirt. Pricing is excellent and their delivery fee is the most reasonable in town. We will be using them again for our next bulk purchase.
