Do not go to Stonebridge Kennels if you want to not worry about getting a call in the middle of your vacation to come pick up your dog. I confirmed with booking that he was all good and nothing needed to be done. In the middle of my vacation out of country, they called to say they were wrong and that his rabies vaccine expired. I immediately starting making calls to family members to figure out how to take care of him while I was gone. While i was on vacation. There was no apology. And they refused to give any compensation on my $400 bill. And when they called me after I was home from vacation, it wasn't to apologize or discuss the matter, she said "I'm calling for payment". It was then blamed on the employee that booked me because she was new and no longer works there. I know they take good care of Emma because they quickly learned her temperament and quirks and she happily follows them to the play room when I drop her off. My sister boarded her sweet fur baby for 12 days. When she picked him up he was so hoarse he no longer had a voice. He had limber tail syndrome and a sore on his elbow. To top that off she left 10 chew bones to help keep him occupied. She was given all ten back when she picked up her baby. She is unable to contact anyone to discuss this matter. 7/10/16 We brought our dog here out of necessity because it was short notice and our normal kennel was booked. Our usual kennel is 6 out of 5 stars. We asked that our dogs nails be clipped while he was there and they said they would do it. I hadn't dropped him off, only picked him up, but all I could notice was it stunk like dog (yes... I know it's a dog kennel. But our other place smells wonderful in the waiting area) and all I could hear was tons of dogs barking. Again, not at the other place. It just seemed more like a humane society than a kennel. Brought him out he was happy as a clam and we went home. As soon as we were home I noticed his nails weren't clipped, and noticed his collar was twisted and his tag was missing. So someone must have taken his collar off and put it back on when there was no reason it should be taken off. They claim "experienced pet staff" but I prefer the adults at my usual kennel to teenagers. Overall just wasn't impressed with the place. Lost tag, didn't clip nails, stunk, and was loud . Certainly don't need to be private messages by the owner / management asking me to delete the negative review. read more

Great kennel just feel the policy for picking up your pets by 10am or you get charged an additional day on a Sunday when they have 2-4 slot is a bit non customer centric . With so many Choices in the area it would seem the kennel would want to be more customer friendly . read more

We have been taking our dog to Stonebridge Kennels for about 3 years & the staff is very loving to him. They work w/ me on my schedule as far as helping me out if I need it & they always tell us if our pup has a scratch from playing w/ another doggie friend. They clean it out also. All staff members seem to truly love our little guy & the manager has been on staff for several years- knows the dogs, their likes, dislikes- even takes pics of them & sends to me sometimes during my work day. They are very strict w/ the vet paperwork to be sure all dogs are properly vaccinated. I am very comfortable w/ the care my doggie receives! read more

I used Stonebridge as the kennel for my dogs for several years and was extremely disappointed in the service that I received, but the last visit was the worst and it is why I am writing this review to warn others. When I would travel, I always made sure to keep an exceptional budget for my expenses, including the cost of the kennel. I would discuss this fact with the employees at Stonebridge and would request to either pay the kennel cost up front or I would have an exact amount at the end of my trip when I picked my dogs up. Except for one time, Stonebridge would miscalculate my fees and always in their favor. I would literally count on the fact that each time I picked up my dogs, I would have a prolonged discussion with the staff as to why they were overcharging me and each time, I was correct. One particular time involved a telephone call from a Stonebridge employee advising me that I had overpaid and they were going to give me a credit for one day for my dogs' next visit. At my next visit, I was then advised by the employee that they were "mistaken" and that I owed them for an extra day! I disputed it and advised the employee that I wanted to speak with the owners, which of course, never occurred because the owners do not talk to their customers. My last visit was the worst. I went in to pick up my dogs and, per the norm, was told an incorrect amount for the kennel fees. When I disputed it, the employee brought out their kennel record book and went through the stays with me. During that time, she advised that they moved my dogs from a large kennel, which I requested, to a smaller kennel. I have two larger sized dogs and they need the extra space, thus why I requested the larger kennel and WAS CHARGED FOR THE LARGER KENNEL. No discount was given when they moved my dogs to a smaller kennel and they NEVER requested my permission to move my dogs to a smaller kennel. The employee informed me of it and acted as if they had done nothing wrong. So, apparently they will move your animals to a more crowded living condition, but still charge you for the larger kennel. That was the last straw for me and I have never brought my dogs back. I do not recommend this kennel to anyone. read more

We take both our dogs to Stonebridge for doggie daycare and the "dogs" love it. The key to what I said was that the dogs love it. Also, the people that work there truly love dogs. I know there are days that your dogs and my dogs probably misbehave but we don't hear about it. They just do their jobs without complaining and pick up a lot of dog poo. read more

All I can say is I'm very disappointed in this place. I travel for my job, which means I need a kennel a couple of times per month, which also means I spend a couple thousand dollars per year on kennel and grooming services. To date, services from Stonebridge have been perfectly fine. Well, today I had a reservation to drop off my dog on Sunday morning, in order to make it to O'Hare for a 2:00pm flight. Two night stay. When I arrived during the 8-10am window to drop off my dog, the girl at the front desk (blue hair, facial piercings) informed me that Stonebridge would not accept my dog due to his "bordatella expiring." That's right...he was due for the shot two weeks ago. Now...nobody informed me of this...but as your employee pointed out...this is 100% my fault. Yet...by refusing to take my dog and informing me of the non-compliance at 9:45am on a Sunday...you cut off my options. Where was I supposed to take my dog for a vaccine on Sunday morning? Did you expect me to cancel my trip and thus my livelihood? It would have been far more pleasant and constructive if your employee had just yelled "f-you" across the counter...because effectively you put me in a situation of being f******. The efficacy of the bordatella vaccine, which you even question in your response to a different posting above, doesn't wear off the second the shot is due. There was no way to isolate him? You have no access to a vet for the dogs you're boarding? There was absolutely no other option than for you to throw away a loyal customer??? Again, you've established it's my FAULT...I get it...but I'm the one with a wallet and you're the one running a business... It must be super-luxurious to run a business that doesn't require money, doesn't require customers, that doesn't require repeat business, and that doesn't require word-of-mouth... Customer loyalty clearly means absolutely nothing to these folks. They had not one thought regarding putting me in a very serious bind... These people are unreliable, untrustworthy...after today, I will use this kennel only if desperate. read more

We have had several dogs over the years boarded, groomed, and generally loved and pampered at Stonebridge, and couldn't be happier. Never have had a problem, and our current puppy, Carly, is always excited to go for "doggy day care" to play for the day. This place stinks. This is the second time we took our dog there and it always results in a visit to the vet. Once for boarding. Came home stinking like urine, infection in her eye and fever of 102. Next we thought we would try daycare and she came home with raw paws - bleeding and puss coming out - lump near her mouth and scratches. I get dogs play rough but then to have a "what do you want me to do about it attitude" was over the top. Severely need customer service training and paying attention to the animals like you would when you drop your child off to daycare. Expect them to be taken care of "DOGGIE DAY CARE". It's like they throw them outside and do not watch for signs of distress. Will never use these services again because they are doing us NO SERVICE! We boarded our dog with Stonebridge for 5 days. I love my big great dane very much and was very apprehensive about boarding him, however it turned out great. He was well taken care of and in good health & very happy when we picked him up. The staff was very nice and seemed to genuinely care about my pet. Well, we had the worst experience ever at STONEBRIDGE KENNELS IN ROSCOE. Their neglect (didnt feed our dog) and their lack of remorse about it was completely unprofessional. Speaking with the owner, asking him questions about how this could happen, led to him being irate with me to the point to where I hung up on him. He called back, being belligerent to my husband. There story changed several times. I am completely amazed at the terrible experience we've had. Most of all, I feel bad for our dog. My wife and I had been taking our dog here for daycare for several months. We usually took her 2-3 times per week and most everything was going good, aside from picking up some bad habits from the other dogs. Nothing horrible, just a bit of jumping. My main concern first happened about a month ago. My wife brought home our dog and I had noticed she had a different collar. My wife explained that her old collar had been gnawed off by other dogs and the staff told her this was commonplace. Needless to say I was pretty p!$$ed. We began taking her less and less, in an attempt to regain faith in this place. Again, things seemed to be going ok, until last week. Her collar had been chewed off again! My wife consulted with our dog's previous trainer, whom helped us and our dog get her AKC Canine Good Citizen Certification, and she confirmed that this is not only NOT normal, but incredibly dangerous for both dogs involved. For one my dog could obviously be strangled and the other could choke or get teeth caught in the collar. I think it goes without saying that the staff either neglect their duties or are in some manner not inclined to act on unacceptable behavior. read more

I recently toured the stonebridge kennels facility, overall it was quite clean. However I was horrified when I looked inside one of the rooms they had and saw dogs in small crates!!!! when i asked the employee giving me a tour she told me those dogs WERE BEING BOARDED! INSIDE SMALL CRATES!!! Due to her uneasiness when i asked if the owners knew their dogs were being kept there I can only assume that the owners of the dogs DO NOT know. When I asked what the charge was for those dogs to be boarded she explained it was the same as those whom were in regular kennels! As a loving pet owner I am horrified by this,it is unsanitary and just plain cruel!I will never be boarding my dogs (whom both are small so would most likely end up in a CRATE!) at this facility. ALSO NO WHERE IN THE PACKET OF GENERAL INFO THEY GAVE ME DID IT SAY THEY WOULD UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE PLACE ANY DOGS IN SMALL CRATES! I should warn all owners of small dogs to BEWARE because there dog might be the ones placed in a small crate for their stay! I would not recommend this place, I took my dog there to be clipped and the person doing this cut the dog with the clippers. When the dog was picked up they told us just to put neosporin on it. When I checked it closely when I got home it was over and 1in long. I took her to the vet and had them look at it and they stated it needed some stitches. I took the bill of $120.00 to Stone Bridge Kennels for reimbursement. The owner called me the next day told me he didn't think the dog actually needed stitches and i stated he wasn't a vet . This business does not offer any customer service or responsibility for there employees. The owner said he would mail the check when they did checks ( so who knows when) I explained i had put it on my credit card and was being charged interest but that was of no interest to him.
