I've been on a sobriety journey, so I already knew I'd be ordering kombucha after checking the menu online earlier. What I didn't realize was that the other non-alcoholic option listed was actually a wine--and wow, it was good! It reminded me of a Pinot Grigio. Honestly, I could've had another, but without the buzz, I figured one was enough. I'm giving four stars only because I'd love to see a few more non-alcoholic wines or beverage options on the menu. Other than that, I absolutely loved the space and the energy here. I'll definitely be back--this is one of those places you go for the feels.

The reason for the 4 out of 5 rating are for the bathrooms and the back wall desks! They needed more attention. The bathrooms do not have paper towel dispensers but there were toilet tissues. The back wall desks had crumbs from snackers. I would highly suggest being Lysol wipes if you need to study back here. Overall a good library to study and catch up on reading or surf the net.

Its selections of books is outstanding and it is always clean and orderly. The environment is conducive to reading. There are also study rooms. The computers work. It's tidy, but not clean, and the carpet and furniture is ready for replacement. I'd be able to comfortably stop in here briefly to get something quick done, but would not be comfortable here for a full day. For context: I was seeking a place to do some work remotely while my daughter was in day camp in Decatur. This was one of the first places I tried, but I found better locations after this. I'm certain this is a great resource for the local community. There appears to be a community center next door where small children (maybe a day camp) were out playing in the "backyard" area; there was a small gathering of likely unhoused people on the front lawn of the library (likely a welcomed gathering spot for them during the day); inside the back entrance, there was a beautiful display of award-winning artwork and poetry from children across the county; there are clean restroom facilities; and there is ample parking in the rear of the building plus a rear entrance for easy access after parking.

I came to the Hairston Crossing Library on a Monday afternoon for studying, and quite honestly, I…read morehadn't been here in more than a decade, but it looks like several renovations have been done since I last stepped in. Computers are available front and center as you walk in, and there are tables for studying, large ones that can seat 4 people at a time. There's also smaller tables that line the walls that seat two people at a time. Each table has its own outlet if you have your devices that need powering, and while I did hear some beeping noises from time to time, it was pretty quiet. An entire section in the rear of the library houses a children's book area with a table for kids. Of course throughout the library are several rows of books and staff were on hand to help anyone who needed it. The parking lot is decently sized, having no problems finding a parking spot. While the parking lot was easy to find a space, it was a bit challenging to find a table. Library computers were all being used at the time of my visit, and every table had at least one person sitting at it, so sometimes you have to share, which is what I did. Smaller library with limited books, but it does the job for me, especially when i'm just trying to study. I'd happily come back.

There is a strong chance they might have the show or movie on DVD! DeKalb County Public Libraries have now extended their DVD loan period to 3 weeks, same as books, which is much appreciated. I actually came to this Clarkston branch since they had a particular disc that I was looking for; you can check the online catalog to see what's available. The main parking lot is behind the library, and the entrance is to the side. The driveway to the lot is narrow so drive slowly. The building shows its age and it's not the biggest location, but it's still a pleasant library. The restrooms were clean (though there were some empty cigarette packs at the back of the building), and the other patrons were well-behaved. It was easy enough for me to locate the DVD area and find what I needed. The guy at the circulation desk wasn't the friendliest, oh well. Don't forget your mask since they're required. If you are a monster who doesn't like books, periodicals, and multimedia (kidding), you still should stop by the Clarkston Library to admire its enormous stunning hibiscuses! Whoa, gorgeous.

Nice library! I came…read moreto the Dekalb county Public library in Clarkston to study on a Friday afternoon, and this was one of the better libraries i've been to. Nope, it's not as technologically advanced as other locations, but it is clean, there is space for studying and it's actually quiet! If anyone has kept up with my reviews on libraries, my biggest beef has always been someone was loud and disruptive, but on this day, I was relatively undisturbed....outside of the guy next to me who asked me if he could borrow a pen. The library isn't the largest one i've been to, but there's a respectable amount of books and computer stations, both immediately in front of you as you walk in, and to the left of you. The entire right side of the library is the children's area. All the way to the far left there's about 5 cubicles for studying, as well as a few chairs as well. Several Tables are also found while walking to this area. On this day most of the cubicles were empty, so I was able to take a spot in the padded chairs and get to work. One cool thing about the cubicles is they all come with their own individual lamps, for the late night studying ( only mon-wed...they close at 5pm thurs - sat), a nice little touch I haven't seen any other library branch do yet. 30 minutes before the library is to close, they alert you via loud speaker, and continue to do so every 10 minutes until it closes, so you don't have to worry about not being alerted of it's closure. Parking at the library is interesting. There is a parking lot to the left of the library, but the actual "library only" parking is at the rear of the library itself (turn right into the library lot and follow the road around). It's a smallish lot, being able to hold less than 20 cars and likely less than that. Getting in or out of this lot in either direction isn't too tough. I definitely like this library. It's small, not the most technological, but it does what a library should do....keep a quiet atmosphere and for learning. What can I say? I'm a fan!

Let me start off by saying this is nowhere near the largest library I've ever been in but it still is pretty cozy to me. It's bigger than the Sue Kellogg branch in Stone Mountain. Redan-Trotti has more computers, tables, and seating thus making it a comfortable spot to read and study. The bathrooms here are usually clean as well. There's also a copy machine but no fax machine. The only downfall is that I can't bring in any food or drinks... which is understandable because some people are messy and there's carpet, computers, and books that people could mess up. I still wish I could bring in my coffee though for my reading/studying sessions. With Redan-Trotti's humble size yet the right amount of equipment (and furniture,) this will be my go-to library as long as I'm living in DeKalb.

I entered and we both got new cards and bounced. Then someone put me on to a library app called Libby and now I'm checking out books from my iPad and never thought about entering one again. FFWD to 3 days ago when I ran out of ink for my printer at the house and it was faster (and cheaper) to go to the library and print instead of running out for more ink. So I went in this library with that one goal in mind. But... all of that was tossed aside when I was met at the door with a book display that blew my mind!! On my mama I found like 6 books I wanted and they just GAVE THEM TO ME!! Like all I did was show my card and that was it. This *ish seemed criminal!! I forgot how easy it is to get books at the library. I'm shook!! Dead a**!! I'm ready to get more and I don't even know what the limit is!! Got me a library card and became a member and I do not regret it. Librarians are amazing and so sweet and helpful. Felt so welcomed and I loved every minute of studying here. Beautiful calming atmosphere with a nice fall view of trees with leaves changing. After a hectic week and day, perfect way to relax and unwind. Will be here at least once a week and build from there.
