My husband and I stayed overnight at The Stone Lion Inn on our way to a reunion. I HAD to stay there having seen the place on many ghost hunting shows. We arrived and were greeted by Becky the owner. She immediately made us feel right at home! She gave us a brief rundown of the details of our stay. Becky is host to murder mystery events that she conducts on the weekends. We stayed during the week so unfortunately did not get to take part in one. We did, however have access to the entire Inn to explore and ghost hunt! No one else was staying at the Inn that night. This was BEYOND what we expected and so accommodating of her. We were able to capture some activity during our ghost hunt! Nothing to keep you awake at night though! We stayed in the honeymoon suite. It is a nice large room with a couch. The bed was very comfortable. The furnishings go well with the time period of the house. No detail was overlooked. Something interesting everywhere you look. Especially the embalming table in the front hall! We also had company while we were there. A very sweet little kitty and a prairie dog! (yes, you read that right!) There are 5 rooms to choose from. All with adjoining bathrooms. Each decorated in a unique style. Breakfast was delicious. Becky sat with us while we ate and amused us with stories and folklore about the Inn. Her own history as the owner is quite interesting as well! We truly appreciated the time she spent with us. We could have listened for hours! If you are looking for a unique and wonderful place to stay near Guthrie this is a MUST! Becky made our stay far beyond our expectations.

I went here for my cousin's bachelorette party and it was a really fun experience! It will definitely be one of the more memorable bachelorette parties that I've attended! Here's a breakdown of my experience: -A week before, you get emailed the character you will play. The email tells you the time frame and what kind of clothes would be good to wear. Side note... I was emailed a guy's part. I think any girl interested in doing this should be aware of this. If you work full-time, a week is NOT a lot of time to get an impressive outfit together - especially if it's with clothing for the opposite sex. Fortunately, I had a guy friend whose clothes I was able to fit into. So, maybe have some outfits in mind when you sign up for this so you're not scrambling at the last minute. -Arrival: Get a clue card telling you something your character needs to do or should know -7ish p.m. - The cocktail party starts (BYOB btw) and the characters start mingling. -7:30ish p.m. - A 4-course dinner is served. We had salad, soup, and an entree. The entree was chicken, rice & veggies. Then someone got "murdered!" Dun dun dunnnnn. After that, coffee and cheesecake were served. All of the food was pretty good. -After dinner & the "murder,"' everyone is given another clue card. Then you go around the room and everyone is reading their clues and trying to piece the murder together. (**For me, this lost my attention. I'm very easily distracted and it was just information overload for me. There were A LOT of clues and I think it would've been better to have a little less. Most people have short attention spans anyway these days.) After all the clues were read, we grouped up to try to figure out who did it. I would say the whole thing ended around 11 p.m. During the process, they took pictures of us which was nice. Although, I haven't received the pics yet and it's been like 10 days so I'm not sure when we'll get them. In the morning, we were served breakfast and they told us about ghost stories from the hotel. If you are looking for something unique and fun to do, I would gather some friends together and try this!

The Stone Lion Inn was a lot of fun. We stayed overnight on a Friday night, and took part in the dinner murder mystery. First about the murder mystery... everything was very well organized. We received general character bio information a couple weeks prior to the evening, so we had a good chance to learn about the (many) characters involved with our mystery. We also learned who our characters were, which allowed us to look for our outfits/costumes which was nice - we didn't have to rush around at the last minute. The hour d'oeuvres were served first, and then after a bit we moved into the dining room (assigned seats due to character/story) - but couples were kept together... for the dinner. The dinner was pretty good, salad, soup, chicken and vegetables, and then cheesecake bites for dessert. The dinner was good, not spectacular - but we were there primarily for the mystery anyway. The mystery was interesting, a little hard to follow if you missed a clue, and I think the group of people that you had with you would make a big difference in the level of fun for sure. We were fortunate to have a few real characters in our group - so it was a blast. There was one couple there (I'll call them "stick in the mud couple") that must've received the evening as a gift, because they were shy and didn't want to participate... especially the husband. He would only speak when spoken to, and then gave the shortest possible reply that he could give. So if you're a "stick in the mud couple" - please know this isn't for you! Why come to something like this if you're not ready for some fun? I wouldn't... anyway, the wife ended up getting offended apparently, and they both left after it was over -without spending the night like we did. The only issue that I had with this was they were both playing main characters in the mystery, so the rest of the group had to pull them along the whole evening. My suggestion would be for the staff to ask people who they are giving main character parts to - to make sure that they are outgoing, and will have fun with it - so that doesn't happen to another group. Overall it had a little effect (parts of it were funny, actually) because they were so out of character. We stayed in the Inn with 4 other couples. There are 6 bedrooms, I believe in the Inn. You can stay in one of those rooms, or at a different property of the same owner, or you can come to the mystery and then leave afterward. If you stay overnight, then the next morning the owner comes in and tells the history of the home, and lets you explore the attic, basement, and all of the guest rooms so you can see them all. The breakfast was entertaining, and the food was good, so I would recommend both! There are three larger rooms, I would recommend the wedding suite or the one that connects to the sunroom over the carport. The third suite on the front of the house was much warmer than the others, and not very comfortable. The bed is also not as good. We stayed in the room adjoined to the sunroom, and it was great. Overall it was a fun experience, and we would visit again. The home is a neat pace to see, it does need some TLC though. There were issues with the ceilings, walls, and bathrooms needing some attention for sure. Light fixtures with exposed wiring and so forth. Nothing that would hurt you, and it was clean, just as I said needs some minor repairs here and there. As for the ghosts in the house? Well you'll have to see for yourself! HAHA! Ok, seriously I slept like a baby in our room! I wish breakfast was at 11 instead of 10 AM! We didn't experience any paranormal activity, maybe next time! Check the house out on YouTube, just search stone lion inn and you'll find several videos there. We didn't know about that until we got there, so when we finally hit the sack that Friday night, we laid in bed and watched the videos, ha-ha... seeing stuff that supposedly happened right outside of our bedroom door was really funny! PS - they really do need to fix the door locks, several of the bedroom doors don't lock, and with strangers in the home - that is really needed. The room we stayed in had a lock that worked, but the others didn't. PS#2 - check out Groupon, we found a discount coupon there that saved a good bit! Enjoy!

The murder mystery had about 40 character and backstories, which was a large amount of information to remember in a short time. Everyone dressed the part, so it was easy to get into the right era mind set, along with the ancient house decor. It had a few long lulls where I feel like we didn't know what we were supposed to be doing, before the show started, so some people were just talking as their real selves and others were being characters. All in all it was fun to piece it together in smaller groups and solve the complex mystery. Dinner-said 7 courses, but it was 5. Appetizers were great, meatballs, skewers of olives, cheese and fresh meats, a cold ravioli salad bite, and cracker and cheese with jalapeños. Salad was a simple chopped salad of Italian dressing, croutons, fresh Parmesan along with an onion cheese loaf. Soup was a green chili potato soup and it was quite scrumptious. It had a bit of a bite, but was savory and creamy as well. Main course included a roasted chicken thigh quarter that was juicy on the inside, but lacked any extraordinary flavor. The rice mixture was very much overly salted or seasoned for my taste. It had good flavor, but it made my mouth purse from the high salt, so didn't finish it all. The side of mixed vegetables were cooked to perfection, soft enough that they could melt in your mouth, but not mushy. It was an array of carrots, broccoli florets, baby corn and more. For the final course, French pressed coffee and an assortment of cheesecake bites. The cheesecakes were thawed from frozen, as they were still very cold. They appeared to be a variety tray similar that you could get at Sam's Club. There were 3 flavors, turtle, plain, and strawberry. They were actually quite creamy and delicious. Overall, it was a fun experience and we were quite delighted at the level of the culinary side of the evening.

I've wanted to attend a murder mystery for a while now. My husband was game too; he just wanted to make sure I didn't figure out "Who done it" too early. I tend to ruin a lot of TV shows and films by guessing, usually correctly, who did what and why. I also skip to the end of books after reading the first chapter. But that's on me. The Stone Lion had a Groupon and we figured why not. Tip #1: book early. Weekends fill up fast, especially if you want to stay in the Stone Lion or the Peacock. When you call to make reservations, make sure you can stay in the Stone Lion; this is where all the action happens Tip #2: get into character/do a bit of research... if you dare. The Stone Lion Inn has been featured on Ghost Hunters. Get into the mood, if you can handle it, and watch the episode. We stated in the Kentucky Suite, which is supposed to have a lot of activity. Personally, I think if there were any spirits, our late night/early morning partying scared them off. As for character... read your character information and everyone else's. Keep a cheat sheet with you for the dinner so you can remember what your character is and does. Get your costume together and try to get all the pieces. The hubby's character had a cane... which was odd... but memorable to everyone else. Tip #3: loosen up/just go with it. The first 20 minutes are really awkward. Just own your character and go with it. Remember, everyone else is just as afraid of looking like an idiot as you are. You will likely never see anyone from here again. So be eccentric. Commit to the role and go for Oscar. Tip #4: enjoy the after party. While at the Stone Lion, long after the body was carried away and the doors shut, the after party started. The group that stayed was fun: lots of music, libations and silliness. Again, go with it. Tip #5: explore the grounds. This is an old house with lots of history and maybe a few long time tenants. The bedrooms are filled with odd knick-knacks and décor. The library is amazing. And the upstairs is quite creepy. The basement seals the deal with the body chute. Tip #6: thank the hosts. Everyone that puts this together works really hard. The owner writes the scripts. The evening hostess is so believable you have a hard time breaking character. The chef creates some really nice dishes. They work in harmony to give the guests an experience to remember. It really saddens me that this place and experience has such a low rating. But if you follow the above, and just go with it, you will have a five star experience.

This was our first time to experience the murder mystery. We will be back!!! We arrived early and settled into our comfortable room We stayed in the Bordello room Clean, comfortable bed, perfect temperature- what you'd expect for a room. Meals were delicious. The green chili soup was really tasty. The mystery was facilitated artfully. She kept things moving and seemed everyone felt at ease with their parts. There were several families that this was their third and forth times. We will be back!

My fiance booked a getaway trip for us for one night in Feb. A few days prior to our reservation, he receives a call that they had a broken pipe and no water in the home and would need to reschedule. Understandable. So, they rescheduled us for a month later when the room was available again. The day before, my fiance called to confirm our reservation was still good, since they never called a few days prior like they had stated they would, and was told we were good to go for the next day. We packed, took our dogs to the dog sitter and we're about to head out, when hrs before our check in time he received a text that they had pest control services happening and were unable to make the upstairs beds so they would need to again reschedule the reservation. How can this even be true when he spoke to the lady the day prior?!?! You didn't know pest control was coming the next day?!?! Was told once again they would need to reschedule but didn't know when the room was available till Monday. Here it is Thursday, and no call to reschedule. Absolutely horrible service!!!! Sorry we didn't care to do the money maker murder mystery, I assume this is why we keep getting excuses as to why we have to be rescheduled, but we still deserved better service than what we have received. Do better!!!! read more

My husband and a couple of friends attended a 1920s themed murder mystery at the stone lion. This was our 1st time doing anything like this and we really enjoyed it and look forward to doing it again. The home is very old which is part of the charm, But still in need of some renovation. The only real negative i have is the mattress. It felt like it was as old as the house. Little did I know that it is also haunted. So if you like that kind of stuff you'll really enjoy spending the night in one of the rooms. We had a wonderful dinner during the mystery and another wonderful meal at breakfast. At that time the owner came and told us the haunted history of the home. She is a wonderful story teller and fun to listen to. We Look forward to attending more Murder mystery dinners parties at the stone lion. read more

Apparently these people do not need or want the business. I understand they have been close from July 4th and are supposed to be open today July 16th and according to the note on the door you can still call for reservations or make them online...Neither is true. The website says to call .. we've been calling for several days with no way to make a reservation not a callback....Big Zero for this place. Very unprofessional read more

My boyfriend took me to stone lion inn to celebrate my birthday getaway. The beautiful city of Guthrie was just one of the many beautiful memories I have to cherish of my time here. We got a little late in to town due to traffic but miss Becky welcomed us like family and we instantly felt at home. Our room was beautifully furnished, well kept, and very inviting. We had the whole house to ourselves along with our wonderful hosts, so we got to experience this wonderful inn so intimately. We experienced activity but nothing malicious or as heavy as some of the most notable encounters we've heard/seen. When I woke up in the middle of my first night in, I looked over at my boyfriend and saw what I now know is named as a coffin spray; flowers all over him! It was at 3:59 am when I nudged my partner and was adamant that he had flowers all over him and suddenly they had fallen off, only to have him check his side of the floor and see nothing but his slippers. Other experiences I had was smelling jasmine oil in our room, floral wafts throughout the house. We got to check out the local town and take in the vintage antique stores and the beautiful downtown area and its amazing architecture that is still being preserved. We stayed 2 nights and had the complimentary breakfast. Grant, miss Becky's oldest son was the wonderful chef who made us delicious breakfast that kept us energized and full! Overall it's definitely a place I will go back to when I want an escape and travel back to simpler times and enjoy the bones of this beautiful home. While we didn't have the pleasure to experience the murder mystery this time around, it's a reason to return! Miss Becky and Mr. Grant, thank you so much for your hospitality and for welcoming us into your beautiful home. Until next time! read more

I reserved the Cora Diehl Suite (for its 2nd bed) for my dear friend Michele A. who was visiting from CA. and I for an overnight At the Stone Lion Inn for Sunday, March 19, 2023. I was very familiar from seeing the Ghost Adventures episode (many times) and Stone Lion Inn's web site. I didn't tell Michele where we were going so she would be surprised. She was so pleased and surprised...she had also seen the episode on GA of course. As we parked the owner... Becky, came out the back door to greet us. Such a lovely lady. I am walking and climbing challenged so Becky kindly assisted me to make my way to and up the outside front stairs. The staircase that greets you as you enter and the interior is fabulous. Becky gave us a tour of the ground floor and we settled into the living room (or parlor) which is filled with beautiful "time period furnishings ". We were greeted by one of her "tiny pets"... a Prairie Dog named Tyler (the one with the boo boo on his nose). The cutest thing ever who got busy nibbling on my shoe laces to show he liked me. His pal Toby was in the cellar...I think we saw him later. As Becky explained all about Prairie Dogs and other things about the house and how she became the owner Michele kept hearing sounds of feet on the staircase. She even went out to look once but no one was there... of course. To chatted for at least an hour. As it was after 3:00 we went for late lunch/dinner at Stables. Michele loved the memorabilia and the food but I'm afraid some of the chairs and tables are quite tattered and torn. The owners may call this "ambiance" but I hope they will be to repair things that could tear patron's clothes in good time . We took a drive around the town for the architecture which we loved. Too bad it was Sunday or we would have gone to antique stores, etc. Maybe next time. After about an hour we headed back to the Inn. Back at the Inn, Becky and her son Grant (who is also were nice) greeted us at the door and showed us where the soda and water were kept and told us when breakfast would be served. Then they bid us good night retreated to the kitchen. We looked around the ground floor some more then settled into the parlor again which was very restful for two old friends to catch up. After about an hour (as there is no tv) we decided to just go to our room. It was quite a trip up the staircase for me but I made it. Our room was at the top of the landing. The rooms walls were covered with boas, hats, fans and a tall rack of men's and ladies shoes for the Murder Mystery guests. Michele had the double bed and I took the single bed in the other room. Everything was very clean and ready for guests. As there was no one else in the house Michele used a separate bathroom off the hall. We visited for a while and retired around 10:00 PM. Sometime around 3:00 AM I bolted upright in bed! I softly called out "Was that you Michele"? I didn't think I heard a reply (and I didn't know what had awakened me) so I pulled the covers up over my eyes and went back to sleep. In the morning Michele told me she had actually come to my room and seen that I had the covers pulled up so didn't think I was awake. She asked me what I had heard last night. I told her I didn't really know but something had jolted me awake for sure. She said she was reading for several hours and had heard repeated sounds of light foot steps, ball rolling, and possible jump roping over her head from the room above us which I knew was the children's playroom. Michele was awakened by something falling over (like boxes) she thought from above. That must have been what had awakened me too. When we went down to breakfast Becky greeted us and Grant entered the dining room with very tasty French pressed coffee with real cream and told us the menu we would be having which sounded lovely and certainly was. A large pitcher of fresh orange juice and a half cantaloupe each was waiting for us. YUMMY! Grant served us each a large slice of fabulous Quiche...Becky's recipe (which she shared). Slices of great apricot covered sausage. Melted cheese and tomato in a small flour tortilla, and an apple crumble cake. Everything was just delicious! We felt really bad but just couldn't finish it all. As breakfast went on Becky came in to chat about this and that which was so interesting and fun. Grant also came into and see that breakfast and our stay was perfect. We told them it was! They asked how our night was and we told them what had happened. Becky told us that the room we had was under the playroom and what Michele ( and I guess myself) had heard was what is reported from other guests. She said the playroom was the most active in the house. I didn't know that when I booked the room. I wish we could have attended the Murder Mystery but time did not allow and I believe it was already booked. Maybe next time she visits we will be able to. From all the pictures I've see it looks like it is a GREAT TIME FOR ALL! Thank you Becky and Grant read more

Took my top sales people there for an overnight and mystery dinner. We had so much fun! The food was good- big portions. The house is full of history and intrigue. Becky and her crew did everything to make sure it was a success. My favorite part was breakfast- Becky shared some stories and history of the house. She is an amazing storyteller. Price was very fair. read more

But if you follow the above, and just go with it, you will have a five star experience. read more
I am here to tell my story of my visit to Stone Lion Inn, which was an awesome experience! I was with a group of 4 and we checked in at 6:00 PM or so. We were greeted right off, paid our bill, given our clues that we were to read during the mystery and shown to our rooms. We wandered around the 2nd floor looking at all the rooms and enjoying a few beers in the sitting area of one of our rooms. We dressed in our 'period' costumes and went down to the front room to join the rest of the people for drinks and hordourves around 7 PM. Some of the clues have you mingling with the other 'characters' and trying to get information early on. We were then given instructions on how the evening would progress. We went into one of two dining rooms for our dinner. At the table all conversation is to be 'in period' and we conversed as if we were the character we were given. We started with a wonderful chopped salad with cheese bread. It was really good and we all cleaned our plates! Next course was a creamy soup that was very creamy and delicious! Getting pretty full after this course! Next they served us Cornish hen, seasoned vegetables, and a rice pilaf. This course was great! Everything was cooked just perfectly and we all enjoyed it very much! I was too full to finish the entire plate. However, the men at the table seemed to be able to eat it all! LOL. At this point the Murder Mystery began and it was a bit startling at first. We were given instructions and then proceed to the front room. On the way we picked up a cup of coffee and a very small square of cheesecake. I managed to eat two of the cheesecakes! Very good dessert too! The Murder Mystery began in earnest and it was a blast! While none of us figured out who was the murderer, the entire group had a great time and we all hung around afterwards talking to our new friends! The whole evening was a great adventure! We retired to our rooms quite late and slept very well. No ghosts were in our rooms that night, even though we were hoping to get a 'visit', LOL! At breakfast the next morning we enjoyed a beautifully prepared meal that was scrumptious! Thank you Michelle! You will not go hungry at this place! The owner, Becky Luker, arrived as we started our meal and she gave us the history of the house, Guthrie, and Oklahoma in general. It was all very interesting and Becky was very warm and friendly. She is a great story teller with a great story to tell. I highly recommend this exciting adventure to all! My group had already decided to return in a year and do this all over again, even before we left the house! Please remember this place was built in 1907 and was restored to 'period'. Meaning not many amenities. This is not the Marriott and they are not trying to be a Marriott property either. This is a B&B. They are not like 5 star hotels. Thank you Becky for a wonderful adventure! You are the best hostess! We had a wonderful time! read more

We will be back! read more

This was the best murder mystery dinner weekend Ever! The food was so good the experience was extremely fun everyone dressed in costume and everyone participated. The hosts waited on you hand and foot. We didn't experience any ghosts but the excitement of seeing one was there. I reccomend this to everyone! Oh and the breakfast was extremely delicious. I do not understand all the bad reviews for this place. I went with my boyfriend and another couple, and we all had a blast and said we'd love to do it again. We all used Groupons and the process went very smoothly. Yes, we had to book a couple months in advance, but when I bought the Groupon it didn't expire for about a year and a half, so we had plenty of time even though the dinners fill up quickly. We all stayed in the White Peacock, which was about a mile away from the Stone Lion. It was further than we thought (we thought everything was on the same property and walking distance), but no big deal. We thought both the White Peacock and Stone Lion houses were awesome - very old, historic and unlike anything I'd seen before. I will say the dinner was not "gourmet" - it was fine, but nothing special. It was a bit confusing with so many people and so many clues in solving the mystery, but we still had a lot of fun. The facilitator (Robin?) was great. She was great at her character and kept everyone laughing and engaged. Afterward, we went out to a wine bar that the owner suggested to us with about 10 others from our dinner. It was a pretty quiet place and we were all hyped up from dinner, but we sat outside so we didn't feel so intrusive. Breakfast the next morning was again - nothing amazing or gourmet, but decent food. I liked hearing about the history of the house, but would have liked more of the ghost story-type stuff than the history of Guthrie. All in all though, we had a great time! I hope we'll be back. As for people complaining about the conditions of the rooms and not having blow dryers and amenities...what did you expect? The houses are at least 100 years old. The point is for them to be historic. We didn't expect a five star hotel experience with room service and amenities, and it surprises me that anyone would. I showered before I came and got ready in our room, which did have outlets both in the room and bathroom. The furniture and such was old (obviously), but it was still very clean, tidy and comfortable. We loved the atmosphere of the room and thought it added to the whole old-timey experience. read more

We did the Murder Mystery. It was fun. The food was OK at best, not great. They don't serve alcohol, so you have to bring your own. Why is it getting one star? Well, the pricing for one, and the customer service for another. We were alerted to the Murder Mystery via GroupOn. We, along with some friends and family, all purchased the GroupOn for $30 per person in July - half of the normally $60 per person fee. When we called to book the evening, we were told that the earliest opening was in December, and even though the GroupOn expired in September (they did the GroupOn knowing they were booked through the expiration period, something we're discussing with GroupOn), they would still honor the GroupOn. Once we finished the evening - which included spending an additional $100+ for "period appropriate" clothing, my wife told me that they didn't 'honor it" - they gave us the value of the GroupOn as a discount, but we still had to pay the difference. So on top of the $30 per person GroupOn, we paid an additional $30 per person onsite. In addition, we brought two bottles of wine from our cellar as well. Needless to say, this is the first and last time we'll ever do this at the Stone Lion Inn. The sad part is that during the evening, I was thinking that this would be a great "team building" event for retreats. Basic customer service could have made this place much more money just in onsite traffic, plus I was planning on talking with their management about licensing the program to be used in out-of-Oklahoma retreats. Instead, I can't even get the "management" to address their business tactics. The fact that they did the GroupOn knowing they were booked during the "valid period" is unethical at best. read more

I was a little skeptical about a murder mystery going into this. But we did a private group on a Sunday afternoon, so most of the people knew each other. However for over $50, I was shocked for how disappointing the food was, and incomplete the story was for the actual murder mystery. The food is more like rice a roni from one of those packages at walmart. It is all food I wouldn't even serve guests in my home. It probably cost them $50 total to feed 20 people. The story cards we all received were just random information about our characters that actually didn't even come into play in the story! We just sat in a circle, read about 20-30 "clues" and then were separated to solve the mystery. SPOILER: it was so backstory accidental murder that no one ever gets right. Seriously, she told us no one got it right. What fun is that? I'll never go back. What a waste of $50+ read more

This was our second stay here and we had my Bachelorette party here on a Friday night. We had a ton of fun but the reason we only gave four stars was a few minor things. Dinner was served very very fast and I felt a little rushed and didn't even really get to eat my salad or my meal. Also this script was the 40s and I was so confused by the end i was so lost. The last one we did was different it was the 20s and I felt like I followed that better but this was just too much info. I also had an issue with my part. I was someone's "lover" and had to invite them to my apartment and when I did they had no idea we were lovers???? So that didn't make too much sense but that's ok. We rented out the inn and their sister property white peacock and as soon as the murder mystery was done we couldn't find any employees. We had no access to water except for our facets or unless we left to go get some which I thought was odd because they offered soda. Then they had a wine opener for us to barrow and before we could use it they locked it up in the kitchen and we didn't even know the employees had left. We left to go to the store and I wasn't sure how we were supposed to lock the door or anything so we had to leave people there and they weren't able to come with. I just felt a little awkward about all that. Other than that it was really fun and nice and different. I thought the price was pretty good for all of us. Breakfast was fun and included in our stay and it wasn't a typical breakfast. It was like quiche, some pastry and sausage. I probably needed some biscuits lol or more bread after the drinking hahaha. I would stay here and do this again I just wish there had been more communication and concern for our needs before we have no one to contact. read more

I stayed at the Stone Lion Inn this past weekend. Upon arrival the neighborhood looked sketchy including the Stone Lion Inn. The property was unkept, there was a large building, later identified as a gazebo, collapsed in the back, visible from the street and front yard. The patio was covered in spiders webs, lumber and work equipment. Once inside the inn, it was notably warm. We got checked in and went to our room. The toilet was running as though a faucet was on full blast. The room was dark and small with a shower awkwardly in the corner. Wall paper was peeling on the ceiling and near the shower. The bed was visibly tilted toward the headboard, the slope was significant. Later the bed was leaned against and fell to the floor because the box springs didn't fit the frame. The door to the room didn't have a handle or knob to exit. There was a door "thumb press" release that is normally companied with a handle we awkwardly pressed and pulled to exit the room. There wasn't a lock on the door. Despite all the immediately noticeable, less than acceptable issues, we maintained a positive attitude and remained excited about the murder mystery and dinner. The dinner was so-so. The bread was the best part. Because the house was so hot there were fans scattered everywhere. During a candle lit dinner the candles were blown out by the wind of the fans. It would have been to miserably hot without the fans and several people tucked in the small dining room. Additionally, the dimly lit dining area didn't provide enough light to see the bone riddled chicken. I ended up not eating the chicken because the bones were so tiny and I had to remove them from my mouth. The dinner was disappointing at best. Breakfast was "fancy" quiche and some other odd food. Also a disappointment. After dinner the group went to the parlor where the furniture was terribly tattered, worn and torn. The room was dimly lit and we were served cheesecake bite dessert, the frozen kind from Sams. The group sat in a circle and took turns reading our mystery clues. It was terribly hot and difficult to concentrate on the mystery. After an hour and a half we were separated into a women's and men's group to see which group could figure out who the murderer was first. To keep the bar low, the staff had to tell us who it was. The person playing the murderer wasn't even aware he was the murderer. It was very convoluted with information and a handful of participants had to play the part of 2 people since there weren't enough people in attendance. In the end my couples friends that attended with us, made the event fun. I can't imagine how much more disappointing it would have been had they not been there. The house is not ADA compliant in any way. There are wires hanging from the ceiling in the parlor, pretty sure there wasn't any lighting in the dining area, the smoke detector in our room had the battery out. There was only one entry and exit for guest, the back door and side door were locked by staff when they left for the night. Did I mention that getting ready in costume was very difficult because of the heat and there was only one outlet for fixing hair which was located on the floor behind the bed??? I could go on. The only mystery is why code enforcement hasn't shut down the Stone Lion Inn and how this place stays in business. read more

Who done it? Everyone was having to much fun, it almost seemed like it didn't matter if we guessed who the murderer was. Our 2nd time to the Stone Lion brought high expectations of another evening of mystery and fun at the Stone Lion Inn in Guthrie. With about 6 different themes they rotate, we got to experience the Elmer Mccurdy theme. Make sure to show up at your start time which is usually around 6. They send you a cast of characters ahead of time with a brief background for each. You should spend a little time reading the synopsis and can literally spend hours laying out which person is related( I have) or connected to which person or even try to chart it out as there are usually 30 or so different characters. If all the parts aren't filled, they will ask some folks to take on multiple parts that evening. Always pay attention to the host especially at the very start of the evening because she tells you things that will be important later. After time to socialize and have some appetizers. the group made a "funeral" procession to the site of the Mccurdy graveside Memorial where the host explained the fascinating history of the man. Everyone stayed in character. Then we returned for dinner during which it was announced that a dead body had been found. The fun really begins when we meet and everyone reads a clue that had been given to them plus secret information only they know and are not to reveal. There's about 50 clues and little by little, the drama unfolds with twists and turns til the final reveal. Folks really got into their characters in attitude and dress. Dinner was pleasant with Cornish game hen, a house rice and a cooked vegetable mix. The pizza bread and Green Chile Bisque was really good. A small salad preceded the meal. We didn't stay the night but most folks were staying at the Inn or other nearby B&Bs.I got to be a Catholic Priest and did my thing at the graveside memorial service. It was about 4 hours of fun and look forward to doing it again, we are hooked. Oh yeah, and if you stay overnight, the Inn is supposed to be haunted... read more

We went off site to a cemetery, ( in true traditional fashion ) to visit the main character of our murder mystery, who was REALLY buried there. I loved it! I cancelled my reservation for April 25th back on April 8th (within the 15 day window ) and it's now May 12th and I STILL haven't gotten my refund of $295. My wife and I went to the Murder Mystery Dinner last night, and we had a great time. The time period was the 1920's which was a really fun time period for choosing attire. The evening began with hors-d'oeuvres and a nice dinner followed by coffee and dessert. Afterward the murder mystery began, and it was a lot of fun. The Stone Lion Inn is a fantastic setting for the event. It was worth every penny. Definitely check it out. read more

It's a shame to only give this place one star, but some things just really rubbed me the wrong way. ... I went to Stone Lion Inn for the murder mystery dinner, then stayed the night at hotel, then did the breakfast the next morning. I've got to say first that the murder mystery dinner was a lot of fun! The actress who led the event was really funny and in character the whole night, and she did a great job keeping everything together. The food was not the best I've ever had, but there was plenty of it, and it was good overall. No complaints there. The way the murder mystery was solved was suspenseful and entertaining, and I met some fun people that night, which made things even better. ... As for the lodging, the rooms were lacking (only one floor outlet, no blow dryers or irons or other amenities, and not super clean) considering the high price of the stay, but the room was survivable. The owner needs to work on the rooms, but this isn't my primary complaint. My biggest issue is with the breakfast, and in particular, the owner. The breakfast is advertised as a time when guests hear ghost stories and get information about the history of the hotel. But it's not, there was VERY little information about these things. Instead, the owner completely dominated the entire breakfast with narcissistic, selfish talk about herself. It was the most self-indulgent, arrogant display of about .5oz of power I've ever seen. It started with some blatantly racist remarks - she pulled in the cook (who happens to be Black), and started joking with her in front of everyone about how racist the cook is, how the cook "plays the race card," and how the Black cook's comments are "the origin of racism" (ignoring the whole legacy of oppressing, raping, murdering, and enslaving an entire race). This was IMMENSELY insulting and uncomfortable for me. And she wouldn't stop. Even after the cook was dismissed, the owner kept calling the cook "racist." The power differential that was present, and the way this was being exploited, was sickening to me. After this, the owner proceeded to tell the group story after story about how she saved, or came to the rescue, of all sorts of people in small towns. She saves immoral carpenters by bailing them out of jail ("you know how those carpenters are...")... She plays White Savior by hiring black people (who she then acts buddy-buddy with and humiliates)... She plays Rich White Savior by describing how she buys bed and breakfasts in small towns that are only known for whore houses, and turning the entire town around... Meanwhile, she inserts subtle slights here and there about all the married men in the town being lazy and unfaithful to their wives, etc. ... And the examples continue. The theme: She demands a captive audience to listen to her endless rambling about how she has single-handedly saved minorities and poor, uneducated people with her money (which she then uses and publicly embarrasses). Very insulting. After making a comment to her, publicly, about racism (which she conveniently ignored completely), I eventually walked out. But I should have done it sooner. She should be ashamed, because she tainted an otherwise unique and great experience. read more

I went to Stone Lion Inn over 20 years ago and was excited to return. The directions are best using GPS. The dinner was great. The host was knowledge, kind, funny and knew her part very well. The room was full of eager people to hear of one murder and witness another. Bring a flashlight to read your parts. The room was very dim. I would do it again. I was shocked by how bad the food was. We went in a group of six (two had to back out hours before because their 3-month old baby was admitted to the emergency room and the owner offered no condolences, refund, or reschedule options - though, after hearing our experience, they wouldn't have wanted to reschedule). When we arrived, we eventually found the inn-keeper - it's not that she wasn't nice, it's just that she wasn't warm -she just seemed "over this whole thing". I was shocked because the owner says she moved from Santa Fe and seemed classy and has money, but she skimps too much on this inn trying to have too high of a profit margin. Our "gourmet seven course dinner" started with appetizers (LITERALLY frozen taquitos, breaded cheese sticks, and mini quiches from Sam's - I'm ABSOLUTELY not exaggerating a bit!) I haven't seen or eaten a taquito in over twenty years and would have hoped to never again. I just checked Sam's Club's website and a 4 lb box of taquitos costs less than $12 and we didn't even eat an entire box. A 60-count box of mini-quiche costs less than $11 and there were probably 20 put out for the entire group (which didn't even get eaten!) A box of 55-65 cheese sticks costs less than $10, so the entire appetizer for 20 people cost about $12 and was disgusting. Dinner was salad, prepared/boxed soup, cornish game hen (4 hens for less than $13), frozen veggies (5 lb bag for less than $6) that were soggy when prepared, and rice. IF the game hen had better accompaniements, it would have been "OK", but as is, it was no less than inedible. Dessert was cheesecake - not bad, but not great. I understand that homemade cheesecake is difficult to make and look pretty, so understand that this was purchased already made - a 12-portion frozen cheesecake at Sam's costs less than $11, so that's less than $20 to feed all 19 of us. Remember that we bring our own alcohol so that's now where the upcharge is. Breakfast the next morning did start with coffee and OJ. Then, we had two pieces of bacon, a slice of quiche, one orange slice, a mini cinnamon roll, and a serving of an apple crumble/streusel. Throughout our entire stay (cocktail/appetizer, dinner and breakfast), the ONLY food item that was not frozen, pre-made, packaged or preserved was our one orange slice each. Don't misunderstand that we each got an orange (one whole piece of fresh fruit), we each got one orange SLICE!. In researching these prices, I've learned where she got her inspiration for the lie on the website of "gourmet" food - the boxes of mini cinnamon rolls at Sam's are "gourmet" and a box of $16 costs less than $6.00. The rooms were not nice - one of the rooms that is downstairs and has been converted to a room clearly took a closet and turned it into a shower stall as the "shower" is not even in the bathroom, but in the bedroom. The honeymoon/wedding suite was spacious, but not prettily done. It's a shame - I LOVE historic buildings, good food, unique entertainment. This idea was fabulous, but I literally wouldn't go back if it was free. I know that this has been written up and my in-laws have been years ago and said the food was better. My mom has read past articles that praising the inn. I think the likely cause is that the owner has likely grown tired after 20+ years of owning this house and entertaining. I do assume that the quality at one time was better, but I'm totally embarrassed that this is a landmark/tour spot/representation of Oklahoma. We have come so far in our 100 years and are so pleased to have friends and family come visit our state and OKC and witness their great shock with pleasure at what a great "gem" we have here that is so contrary to anyone's expectations of Oklahoma. I hope that her standing as an Oklahoma landmark is reconsidered because it literally is embarrassing. As far as the mystery, I'm sure it's creative, but she needs to have multiple stories to accommodate various group sizes because our story had 40+ characters and we were 20, so every one of us read two parts and many read three. It was too hard to follow, and the killers were not even present (the players didn't show up, so another character read a brief clue about them that no one picked up on), so we didn't get many clues, etc from them. I don't want to take away from her creativity as a writer/creator, because I think the stories could be neat. I just think that she needs a refresher to excite her about this whole gig again. Maybe it's a fluke that we happened to book a weekend that was all Sam's frozen food, but I just can't imagine that when we have no recent extreme weather that would preclude her from grocery shopping and cooking. read more

It's too bad I couldn't give zero stars to the Stone Lion Inn. I had prepared my costume and dialogue for the character I was going to be for the murder mystery. However, just a few days before the event, the mystery was changed. The reason given was that some of the people in attendance had already performed the other mystery. This was disappointing because as I said, I had already prepared and had my costume. My friends and I stayed at the inn and the only amenity in the room was a box of Kleenex. No hair dryer, no glasses, no outlet in the bathroom to plug a hairdryer into, no coffee, etc. The place was filthy. The curtains were so old they were rotting off the rods. The water from the tap was not drinkable. Good thing we brought wine and glasses from home. The furniture was stained, the sheets weren't clean. We stayed in the honeymoon suite so we could get a bigger space and there was an old baby nursery in the suite??? In the light fixture, there were burned out bulbs, there were dirty, wadded up sweaters and other clothing items in the wardrobe, paint cans in the closet - where do I stop?? It was as if someone were playing a joke on us! Do yourself a favor and skip this place. I am surprised they can be licensed at all with all of the crazy electrical issues and no emergency exits. Maybe the owner is related to a city employee. Just gross!!!! read more

Wow, read the other reviews.. And have to say, what are these people expecting!? The house in its self is over 100 years old, so of course there will be no hair dryers, USB outlets & plugs everywhere. Jeez, people unplug for once & enjoy something out of the ordinary! I did the mystery dinner with my GF & stayed in the Egyptian room. Overall we both thought it was a fun experience & enjoyed the stay. The Dinner - once you walk in, your basically in character as you put your name tag on.. It was interesting to play [your] part & talk with others as their part describes them. I wasn't sure how everything was going to happen but essentially an actress that will narrate & let you know when it's your turn speak your part (which is given to you when you arrive). Anyways; it was fun, dinner was good & yes we brought 2 bottles of wine. Whoever complained that they don't sell alcohol, well what do you expect, otherwise they would have to have a liquor license! I like that you can bring whatever to drink & heck if you think about it, it's much cheaper that way! You can bring a 20 dollar bottle of wine that doesn't cost 35 dollars at a restaurant. Breakfast, others have commented on this. The owner did talk a lot but it was about the history of the house & even a little bit of history about the State. I have no idea what Pat F's problem is/was on a previous review but the guy or girl has no business sense as to he grabs 2 of his bottles of wine out of his cellar & then tries to buy-in her idea in licensing the mystery dinner for other places. Also when you decide what date/time dinner you pick you are emailed the details & it clearly states to NOT go out & buy expensive items. Yes I would recommend spending a few bucks a thrift store so you can play your part. Yes, I will recommend this to friends & family.. read more

I definitely suggest staying the night after the murder mystery to get the full experience. The rooms were very comfortable and the staff was great! read more

We went, as a group of 6 (3 couples), and stayed at the White Peacock. We found all of the lodging to be awesome- it was all very authentic, clean, and put us in the 'scary' spirit for the murder mystery. Lots of great decor, and everyone was extremely accommodating. No complaints whatsoever on the bed and breakfast. The murder mystery was pretty disappointing. My character card told me to 'interrupt frequently, ask people to repeat themselves often, etc', in order to take notes. Whenever I did those things, the staff moderator would give me nasty looks and even shushed me. I was not intoxicated, and a stranger in the group told me she thought I was actually a paid actor because I was playing my assigned role so well. It seemed the rude moderator was just trying to rush through the evening and go home. The other members of my group experienced the same thing. It was actually a pretty boring evening- we just sat in a circle and took turns reading off a card. There was no interaction with others in the group, and we were bummed out that we all studied the plot and character lines they sent out before the mystery since it was all for nothing. Everyone was assigned a 'fear', but when someone expressed it she moderator would shut it down. I think with a different moderator who encouraged everyone to be in character and interact with others (I read there use to be a cocktail hour? That would be helpful), it could be a lot more fun. The dinner was great. If you don't like green chilies, you're in trouble, because it's in both the dinner and breakfast. Wish there had been another breakfast option since I hate chilies, but everything at dinner was phenomenal (we had a vegetarian in the group and hers was great too). Overall, I would highly suggest going to the Bed and Breakfast portion, but to heavily consider spending the money on the murder mystery. Great facility. read more

First I have to compliment Michele she was wonderful and the food was fabulous that is the only reason why I am giving this a star also the quaintness of the house and all the antiques was nice even though the house was in disrepair. So let me start with our hostess, not very friendly, very fake friendly and seemed to want to rush through everything. We did not get a tour of the house or the history of the house she just seemed to want to get everything over so she could go home. She was rude to several of the guest and just had an I don't give a shit attitude. The story line did not stay with the time period and throwing in porn movies, cross dressing and 1-900 calls in the story was just stupid. After it was over the hostess left. The front door was not locked or secured all night. Remember the neighborhood was in a not very good area hell the house across the street was condemned and the roof was caving in. The air conditioner was turned off and the beds were hard and horribly uncomfortable and the pillows were old and flat. They locked the kitchen so we had no water or ice but they left Pepsi in a small fridge. As I said if not for Michele who was an amazing cook and very sweet this place would have gotten 0 stars. read more

We did the murder mystery and stayed in the Cora Diehl suite on 1/17/15. I'm going to give my overall review but want to ask and answer a few questions first. 1. Would I recommend this place to friends and family? Absolutely!! as a matter of fact I did recommend the Stone Lion Inn prior to even getting home. 2. Would I do the murder mystery again? You bet your ass!!! I had a blast and had a part which made me nervous but once we checked in and got dressed I really enjoyed every single moment. No spoiler alert here!!!! 3. Should you do the murder mystery and stay the night at the Inn? Of course you should!!! DON'T HALF ASS A GREAT TIME!!! Now for the overall review... This house is over 100 years old and the feeling once you're inside is something only you can experience for yourself. If you don't like going into older buildings or you think its going to be or should look like a brand new building then you just need to stay at home. ITS OVER 100 YEARS OLD!! Its hard to say if I owned the Inn how would I make updates without changing the overall appearance and structure. When we received our characters and a small explanation of every character going to be there we were like "holy crap, I won't remember all of this information there's just no freaking way". So we worked trying to remember and even tried to review them on the drive there. We were still like "how the hell am I going to remember everything".. then when we sat down for dinner the small talk was a little difficult because I just didn't remember everything. So I cheated and took my phone out and would review the names of everyone in the room. I still had issues with everyone but when we went to the living room and the mystery actually began I could look around and remember everyone and even remembered their parts. Don't ask me how I just remembered!!! Even the next morning I remember them as the characters names not their real names. The narrator was awesome she played a character and kept us on track and then would fill in just enough for us to stay on track. The overall murder mystery was so much fun I would go again next weekend just to have a different story and a different part. Now buying the outfits... We went to party places to order and found Halloween type outfits.. blah.. A friend of my wife said got to name brand clothing to get what you need. I spent around $15 for a suit and she spent $18 and then we found a 20's hat for her at the costume place.. think outside the box.. The only disappointment to me (not my wife) was in the room we stayed in was (by reviews) one of the most ghostly active room at the stone lion inn. I have ghost hunting equipment and set it up in the room. However, I never had anything happen or did I see anything.. So we will try again on another trip and see if we can stir up some ghost. If you are thinking about going then just make plans and go!!!! Don't listen to these crybabies who think they were going to The Ritz-Carlton!!! Its a bed and Breakfast in Guthrie. Go out and find costumes from thrift stores, name brand clothing or where ever else you can and then enjoy by actually playing the parts.. Its worth the time and money if you want it to be!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

Love this place! My husband and I first went by ourselves through a Groupon and had a wonderful time! We stayed at the White Peacock (which is also the Owners actual home) and the amenities were great for such an old place. There was a fridge in the room with drinks and very nice surroundings. I think it was pretty well maintained for such an old house! We have been since and requested the same room because we knew it was nice. I had the chance to visit the other rooms on that property and was very impressed with those as well. The Staff at the White Peacock was so kind and open. Wonderful! The Dinner was great both times and we were more than full. We really like that we can bring our own wine and liquor (as purchasing from restaurants is EXSPENSIVE!) The chat at the dinner table with the other guest flowed really smoothly (even though no one knows each other.. we all have parts to act out!) The hostess during the Murder Mystery portion is delightful! Both times we went she was a hoot! She is great at staying in character and keeping everyone focused. My husband and I were so impressed the first time we went that we booked a second trip for my birthday and brought several friends with us who also had an excellent time. This is a GREAT place for family events or parties like mine! They were very accommodating with cake and drinks after the Murder Mystery too! I just love coming here! I highly recommend that if you HAVE attended an evening here before that you let the Staff know RIGHT AWAY so that they can plan a Murder that is different from one you have already attended. And DO NOT buy expensive stuff for one night people... its a fun evening not a fashion show. They say this in the email too. Thank you Becky and Staff for a great time! read more

I do not understand all the bad reviews either.. I just surprised my wife with this & 3 other couples went with us. We all had a blast and the dressing up was just as good. My wife and I had to wait till the last minute to get our costumes and just got them at a costume shop. This added to the experiance getting to try on all kind of different costumes was a BLAST. People complaining about the rooms, I don't understand . All 4 couples in our group loved there themed rooms at the white peacock. We where running right on time (for late check in) & Becky did a excellent job hurrying us back in our limo and back over to the stone lion so we did not delay activities(she even made time for some group photos for us) .. Dinner we thought was great and possibly the best salad I have ever had. As far as the entertainment, we ALL had a blast. When we returned to the white peacock, Becky stayed up with us telling stories and her history behind all of it...my wife and I had talked about doing this for many years so my only complaint is that we didn't do it sooner. We will be back as well as are guests I would expect... For the $$$$ I thought it was well worth it when you consider it's dinner, entertainment, lodging and breakfast , story telling and memories are just a BONUS. Thanks you Becky and your staff for entertaining us and our guests... Tell the hostess that wasn't really my ex wife with my friend, I was just in part as soon as I walked in, lol read more

We just love the Stone Lion Inn. I have to say our second trip was just as fun if not more fun then the first time. You will receive you character information about 2 weeks before the date you are going. The murder mystery's are a lot of fun! During the event you will have appetizers prior to dinner. Dinner is delicious starting out with salad and bread, then on to soup, and a main course of chicken, veggies and rice. later on you will have desert, cheesecake bites, yum... I would recommend spending the night at the Haunted, Historic, Stone Lion Inn or one of its sister properties (The White Peacock, Red Brick and Roses, or The Cottage across the street) it will give you the full experience and you'll enjoy a delectable breakfast along with hearing the history of the property the following morning. Awesome weekend get away. Don't forget to visit the shops downtown in Guthrie, you will not leave empty handed. Fun Fact: Guthrie was the capitol of Oklahoma during statehood! read more

Hauntingly Good Time. It's an understatement to say that we really like the the Murder Mysteries at Stone Lion Inn in Guthrie because we LOVE THEM. The gourmet dinner is spot on delicious. I love the bisque, it is so flavorful. The french pressed coffee and cheesecake is truly sinful. And the brunch the next morning is amazing. But the experience of the murder mystery is the best part of the entire evening. How often do we adults get the opportunity to "just play"? This experience allowed us to dress up, be someone else and get to try to solve the murder mystery as opposed to other so called murder mysteries where you sit back in the audience. In ten years my husband and I have come back ten times. Yes, we love it that much!!! . We have already planned for murder mystery #11. I guess we're addicted!! read more

I went with my best friend to the stone lion for the murder mystery. We had a blast. We thought the dinner and breakfast were done so well and tasted great. We met some wonderful people that weekend. There were no 2 rooms alike , I liked that. I loved Learning the history of the house and the town at breakfast. The owner was very funny and a great story teller. The way she told the history made you visualize the events. I think one of the reasons we all had so much fun was because no one took themselves to seriously, we got out of the weekend what we put into the experience. I can't wait to go back. read more

It is always a pleasure to visit the Stone Lion Inn B&B in Guthrie, OK. The Murder Mysteries are so much fun and you get to meet a group of fun loving people. A great outing for friends, couples or a mother/daughter, father/son "let's do something fun" night. Step out of your everyday and become a character in the 20's, 30's, 40's... you might even get to meet the spirits that haunt the house. Can you guess who did it? It's not as easy as you might think, but it is fun trying! Give the Stone Lion Inn Murder Mystery a try and see for yourself. Teresa K read more

My husband and I stayed Friday night March 14, 2014. This was our second stay at the Stone Lion Inn and as we did the first time we loved it. The period mystery was fun and the dinner was okay but since I am a very picky eater this is a good rating for me. My husband loved it. We stayed the night in the Cora Diehl room which is adorable and is rumored to have the most ghost activity. The breakfast was fabulous even for this picky eater. One thing to remember is that this is an old house so appreciate it for that. We plan on going again. read more

Seriously had a blast for my friend's birthday party. I loved the character I got and had a lot of fun with it. The dinner was great. They had no problems accommodating dietary restrictions (vegetarian and refined sugar free). I had done this before a long time ago and dream about the potato soup. It's that good! At the end of the night my ride was late and even though I insisted she go about her other duties, the hostess refused to let me wait alone. Looking forward to when I get to go again. read more

Awesome experience! My wife and I did a murder mystery there and stayed the night. The service was great and freindly. The food was amazing, especially thier soup and game pheasant. The hostess was entertaining. They really made us feel at home. The house has a lot of history and they encouraged us to go through the house and see some of the history. I would highly recommend the Stone Lion Inn to everyone. The wife and I are planning our next trip there already. read more

I had been planning to surprise my wife so I tried looking for something that we have not done before but is just nearby. That's how I found the murder mystery dinner at Stone Lion Inn. It was different. Acting and dressing up is not my thing, but I enjoyed it with my wife. I also like the room that we got. It was the Egyptian room. It was painted beautifully, but had no shower. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and I'm glad we tried doing it. read more

My husband and I went with a group of friends and it was so much fun! The dinner was well prepared, all of the guests were friendly and entertaining, and the host was hysterical! It was a perfect date night and group activity. We stayed at the sister house, the White Peacock in the library room and was really satisfied with our room. Both houses were very interesting and the ghost stories were a perfect ending to a great weekend! read more

We had a blast at the Murder Mystery. The house is beautiful. You get to tour all of it (even the 4th floor and the basement). The story plots are great and well written. It's great for outgoing or shy people. You can be involved as you want. It was fun to get dressed up. The food is wonderful (7 course meal). Definitely stay the night at the main house if you can! We had a lot of friends go and we loved it! read more

We had so much fun. These people sure know how to put on a show and write a script. Not sure if I was dreaming but I am pretty sure I saw a ghost in the middle of the night, right beside my bed too!! Dinner was probably the best I have had in a long time and breakfast was delicious. We will be back for sure. read more
