We went here just on a whim. I am glad we did. Not the best looking outside but amazing atmosphere inside. The have 2 outdoor seating areas, one that allows smoking and one that does not. We sat out in the non smoking. Our waitress was great at checking in and making light conversations. She was natural at it and it didn't feel like she was checking in to much. The beers are good pricing and they had some good choices, a variety and a little something for everyone. As for food, I got the black and blue bacon burger and it was amazing. Juicy and not skimpy on the toppings. The fries were crispy and delicious. My husband got the nachos and let me tell you, it's enough for 2-3 people!!! Well, the service was excellent with a super attentive staff. The atmosphere was sports barish, clean and somewhat tidy. We orders the World Famous Cheese Burger (with the title I expected more) -1/2lb Angus beef, with mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, hamburger relish, lettuce, tomato & onion. $14.95. This burger was about as basic as it gets. It would be good for older or younger crowds that like bland food. The burger patty looked pretty but tasted uneventful. We didn't get hamburger relish but we did get a ton onions. This burger could have used a special sauce or something. The only sauce they provided was mayo and not much of it. They have excellent taco salads here, with salsa made in-house. The lettuce is always fresh, and meats are well-seasoned. The service staff is friendly and attentive, and so far have 100% accuracy on our orders. The after-work crowd starts to build around 6pm. We usually try to be done with our meal by then, or get food to go. There are several large-screen TVs if you want to watch sports, and there are lottery games, too. The restaurant and restrooms are clean. Overall, a great place to eat and hang out. read more

I didn't go in for food, but I did go in to catch up with some friends who wanted a cocktail or too. The service was very quick and I was greeted with a smile as soon as I walked through the front door. I took in a sugar-free Red Bull, which was served cold and fresh from the can. To be honest, we only go for the food. We have a ladies group that goes for lunch once a month. We've had two lunches here so far on the covered patio. It was a perfect spot. The burgers are great, no complaints. The salads are fabulous. They have a soup of the day and their potato salad is made in the house, I recommend it. Last time I had fish and chips, I loved the fish, it was battered and crispy just the way I like it. I substituted tots for chips, they are also crispy! It included one extra side, so I tried the potato salad. So good! Since our ladies lunch, a few of the gals have taken their husbands to StoneFront. We don't drink, but the food is very good! Love this place. I wish we had gone sooner! The food was amazing, as was the staff. I loved that I could tell the waitress that I wanted a fruity drink, and she helped me build one with my preferred drink. It was crowded on a 2 pm on a weekday, and that is always an amazing sign for a restaurant/bar. We had the prime rib sandwich with tater tots. It was amazing. The drinks was made to perfection. Service was fast. I ordered a drink within 30 seconds. I think it was there. I love the drinks cuz you could actually taste the liquor in them. A very laid-back bar. Everybody kind of minding their own business, love the sports vibe and then veteran vibe I highly recommend stopping in if you're near it. Overall the place was clean immaculate. I can't believe I have lived in South Salem so long and this was my first time eating at the Stone Front ... the parking lot appeared full, luckily there was a table available and we were delighted with our meals ... We stopped in last night for dinner. I hadn't ever been in and wanted to see what all the hype was about. We'll... we walked in and felt like we were in a good ol' neighborhood bar. The staff were welcoming and the ambiance was perfect for us for a Wednesday night. I ordered the special Teriyaki Burger with steak fries and hubby ordered Chilli Burger with steak fries and a side salad. Everything was prepared great. Our food was served up hot and tasty. Terrible service. The lady and I primarily came here to chill and check out the place, play a little video lottery and to meet up with a friend. We got some drinks to start and our waitress gave us some time to look over the menu. When my buddy arrived about 10 minutes later, she got his order and came back one more time to check if we wanted food. We weren't ready... Well, we didn't see her again for another 30 minutes or so. We were all empty on drinks for awhile as well. Tried to get her attention via eye contact a few times, but that was unsuccessful. She came near us a few times, walking by and looking but didn't acknowledge me as I was sitting at our table (other two were at the machines) toying around with my empty glass. At that point, I no longer wanted food and wanted to leave. I told the lady why and she understood, but my buddy still wanted to grab another drink so he tried to get her attention a few times as well. Finally, he walked up to her while she was ringing up other patrons and asked for another round. She wasn't wearing a mask either. But who am I to say anything The food looked tasty but the lack of attentiveness and service deterred me. To be fair, it started off okay, but quickly shifted. After we left, my buddy and I both agreed it felt awkward in the establishment and we probably won't be back. My lady insisted on giving it another shot, but who knows. My patna and I stopped in here for some grub after watching a couple soccer games in the Salem swamp fields. Service was great. Food was great. Music was at the perfect level for 2 pm. I am always hesitant to order nachos because of how many crappy ones I have gotten. Their nachos were fan-friggin-tastic. Plenty for both of us with some left over. We were looking for a really good burger and this place was recommended. What a find! The service was top notch and food was delicious and plentiful. Both of our burgers (Mushroom and Brickyard) were huge, juicy and delicious and we decided we should split something next time or risk overeating again. Second visit here we split a Prime Rib sandwich and fries and it was also very good, but next time we'll order another side of fries to enjoy with the yummy ranch dressing. Might be the worst Reuben Sandwich I Have ever had! There was no Thousand island dressing, the tater tots were under cooked and the corned beef was tough as shoe leather! To make it worst they cut the meat with the grain so when I took a bite all the stringy meat came out(and there is no putting it back). One hunk of 'meat' was all fat and gristle. I apologized to my table mate as I took it out of my mouth and left it on the plate. I kept taking off the crust of the bread to get at any sandwich that was left. I love Stonefront. The only issue is that its so far out south! They always have a really good selection of beer on tap. One of my favorite things to order is the Chicken Malibu Sandwhich. It's loaded with your typical bar decor with neon lights and beer posters, poker machines and pool tables. Its always been clean and the crowd isn't too rowdy, which is nice. I just had a wonderful Rib Eye, rare with a local dark IPA and the fries weren't bad at all. I read the reviews, narrowed to three and started at the farthest place. I was put off when I first walked in, the place was sterile, bright lights and a lot of blue hairs hanging at the tables. The placed seemed too clean and lit too well. I almost walked but I thought a look at the menu was warranted, it made me stay, your choice of New York or Rib Eye. I took to the Rib Eye, Rare. Needless to say I could write you into the place, but if you live in Salem you already know of this place. If you don't know about it, it isn't for you. This would be one of the best places if they would just get a new cook or teach this person. I've tried a lot of food here and so disappointed every time. Learn how to make a club sandwich, also just had a dry breakfast burrito. Most everything is tasteless except the fried food. Drinks are great. Atmosphere great.
