I came here initially for a routine cleaning and checkup. Debbie, the dental hygienist is awesome! She put me at ease and gave me a handful of different strategies to try while getting my teeth cleaned, to try to suppress my gag reflex. Not once did she become impatient with me. The cleaning was pleasant, quick, and thorough. Paula has also been a tremendous help with all my complicated billing questions. She even knew everything about dental insurance questions/claims for teachers who work for Gwinnett County. I highly recommend coming here, if even to save yourself from the insurance headache questions. Dr. Bae, who I have now gone to for 2 different treatment appointments (once for 3 fillings on the bottom right, once for 2 fillings on the bottom left) and she is just superb. She was also understanding, kind, and patient with my extreme gag reflex. Sorry for hitting you, Dr. Bae!! She and the assistant were so good about letting me try different methods to suppress my gag reflex, take breaks whenever I needed, and asked if I was okay all along the way! These people all have the patience and kindness of a saint and a half! I HIGHLY recommend going to this practice for everything from your basic preventative stuff, all the way to the different treatments. Thank you, Dr. Bae, Paula, and Debbie!

I went a head and scheduled an appointment to see for myself because I really needed someone who can take care of my teeth and not neglect me like my last one. I was a little skeptical because I didn't know what to expect and if these reviews were actually true or not. But let me tell you, everyone in this office was friendly and their customer service was super! As I walked in, I was immediately greeted! It took no time for them to get me inside for my cleaning. They took really good care of me and they walked me thru the X-rays process to the cleaning. I love the fact that they provided me sunglasses during my cleaning so my eyes don't hurt or ache from the lights! Dr. Bae was able to provide me with what I needed to know and her recommendations were very honest. I really recommend this place!

Nothing felt warm friendly when I got to the actual service, especially that it had to do with a bad cavity and drilling, it just was already not a fun experience and they didn't give me time to actually get any of the nitrous oxide before getting stuck with a needle. there was also a very big lack of communication it was already a red flag! .. when it was really hard to get a hold of them. There was always an answering service telling me that this location would call back and they never call back, but because of the lower price is the reason I went there. They said I can pay a yearly fee to get a discount that sounds made up. Hence they said yearly fee and then after that procedure, they said I'd have to pay that yearly fee again, like what? it really hard to trust dental offices already!I didn't understand why they didn't finish the procedure and sent me elsewhere. I have yet to find out why. What a headache

I was referred to the Sage Dental office in Johns Creek by their Tucker location for a root canal,…read morebut the experience felt like price gouging. They quoted me $2,100 for the root canal plus an additional $700 just to "open the tooth." When I asked Marcel, the office manager, if a root canal could be done without that extra charge, I didn't get a clear answer. It became obvious they were trying to charge me $2,800 for a root canal on tooth #30. I decided to shop around and was referred to a true professional on Satellite Boulevard who completed the same procedure for $1,350. I'm very pleased with that experience. I'm scheduled to have additional work done at the Tucker location, so we'll see how that goes. I'll keep you posted.

I was referred to this practice thru my attorney for dental treatment due to a car accident, damaging my current Marilyn bridge. Mind you - I have the EXACT SAME BRIDGE ON THE OTHER SIDE that has been intact for over 20 years. Since DR. Grady himself and his team have "replaced" my damaged Marilyn bridge, the replacement has fallen out at least 8 or more times since 2019. Dr. Grady refuses to compensate or reimburse me for anything and collected thousands of dollars for this work!!! Let's also mention how overpriced this was!! He says because payment was made indirectly, even though it came out of my settlement, he would be unable to reimburse me. He has only offered to do further dental work and try a regular bridge option on my mouth for "almost" free (not including the $300-400 lab charges) to "resolve the issue". Now why would anyone in their right mind want to use this practice again to further do any dental work/damage to their teeth????? I've been so so so patient with this practice and they're not trying to make this right. Now I have further damage to two previously healthy teeth that were intact next to the replacement tooth and have extreme teeth sensitivity to the affected teeth! Now I have to pay thousands of dollars to have another dentist elsewhere fix his botched work!!! Unprofessional! Unethical! If you want to ruin your teeth come here!!!!

Sholota Chris, DDS

July 2017 Update:…read more Today my daughter had three fillings, and I had my crown looked at by Dr. Ross Sholota, Dr. Chris Sholota's son. Dr. Ross just started, and I assume there will be people who are interested in getting someone else's first impression. He made a great first impression on my daughter and me, he seems like a great dentist, and I would recommend him. - - original review below - - I'm conflicted on Dr. Sholota's practice at the moment, but overall, I am a fan. Dr. Sholota is great, as are the hygienists. The front desk staff are very friendly. My concerns come down to dollars and cents. Both in my current job, which brought me to Atlanta, and my previous job, which had us in upstate New York, I had a great dental plan, and tried to find great dentists, regardless of whether or not they were in-network. When I first visited Dr. Sholota earlier this year, all of my family's cleanings were 100% covered by our insurance. The only unpleasant surprises were the cost of my children's fillings. My son's first fillings were two surface composite posterior fillings. My insurance covers up to 80% of the cost, up to $260. However, a two surface at Dr. Sholota's practice is $285.00. That $15 delta per filling may not sounds like a lot, but the $15 from $245 to $260 is only $3 out of pocket. The next $15 is $15 out of my pocket. Before my daughter had her fillings, I called and asked about the cost. They said they could do a pre-auth for future treatments, and if I wanted to reschedule her treatments I could, but that her fillings would be less than $285. Unfortunately, I did not realize that her filings would be subject to a different coverage limit. Those were all one surface composite anterior fillings, covered only up to $194, and Dr. Sholota charges $228.00. Each of those fillings were completely uncovered for the last $24. At this point my wife and I discussed looking at other dentists, but we did have positive experiences with Dr. Sholota, and cleanings were not costing us anything as our coverage did cover cleanings. My wife's next cleaning came with a bill of $47 that we had to pay. The justification was that despite brushing at least twice daily and flossing daily, she needed to undergo the "difficult cleaning" to ensure her teeth were properly cleaned. This lead to a $149 charge for the cleaning with $47 not covered (the separate $58 oral evaluation was fully covered). My cleaning, which was very shortly after this, was just a standard cleaning, but I was responsible for $13. The reason I was given via e-mail when asking about this was, "Metlife reviews/changes their fees once a year and Dr. Sholota does as well." As of this writing, those rates are: $90.00 child cleaning $115.00 adult cleaning $149.00 Difficult cleaning At this point, my family of four, between cleaning and filling charges that were above my coverage limits have cost more than $200 above what we would have paid had our cleanings been fully covered and our fillings split 80:20. Part of that is the "difficult cleaning", but here is the explanation I got around that, "A difficult cleaning is a more detailed cleaning in which the patient has excess plaque/calculus and bleeding. She may not need that type of cleaning every visit but we are unaware until she presents at her appointment." Do I have any complaints about Dr. Sholota's work, or the other people who work here? No. But lack of disclosure around rate increases is frustrating, and a lack of explanation around the different rates and coverage limits for different filling types is frustrating. I had a dentist I *loved* in upstate New York who's pricing was in line with my current coverage limits, and I suspect that if I were to look around, I could find a 5* dentist with pricing inline with the limits of my current coverage plan. The high prices are one thing, perhaps some people would consider service worth the price, but the repeated surprises on unexpected costs are leaving a bad taste in my mouth. I'm on the border between three and four stars, and have decided to leave four stars in hopes that unpleasant surprises are behind me.

I have had the pleasure of getting to know Dr. Sholota outside of his practice for a few years now…read more Since his office is so close to where I live and I have heard such good things about his practice, I figured I would make an appointment. Needless to say, I have found myself a new permanent dental office. I could not have been more pleased with the way his office is set up and the level of care I received. Very prompt service, and was pain free throughout the whole process. He stays very busy, so you often have to schedule months in advance, but it is beyond worth it. I will be recommending his practice to all my friends and family.

I was greeted immediately by Michelle, who I had been speaking with on the phone to set up the appointment. Nice to place a face with a name! She was professional, courteous, and of course, let me know it would only be a couple minutes before I was up. Sure enough, within 4 minutes Beate came out and introduced herself as my hygienist for the day. Pleasant, professional, and super thorough- my cleaning went about as flawlessly as could be expected. She spoke about the things she was doing so that I didn't wonder what was happening. Sometimes in the past, I have been delayed or waited a long time to see the Dr. when the cleaning was wrapping up. Dr. Bowns was in to see me within 2 minutes of finishing with Beate. He is pleasant, easy to talk with, and I found it refreshing that I was in and out of the office in less than one hour. They will bill my insurance company, and if there is anything I have extra I'll get a call. I cannot say this enough- when you have a new service provider and it works out this well, it's a great feeling!
