The engine would not run for more than 5 seconds. I do not believe there is any way they did not know it wasn't working when we picked it up. When we called from the dock they said to bring it back and they would look at it again. Over a week later they finally called saying it would be another $1800 and they still couldn't quarentee it would work. If you want something fixed correctly the first time go somewhere else.

They always have the best green crabs during tautog season... good bait makes a big difference. Any time I need to stock up in fishing supplies I make sure to do it around lunch time so I have an excuse to grab a bite to eat. They have everything from breakfast to lobster BLTs. Do yourself a favor and pay them a visit!

The new manger raised our rates this season promising many improvements…read more Yes, half of the main dock was replaced which looks nice. Yet each board is only held down by 2 screws each rather than at least 6 to 8 causing them to warp already. Water isn't hooked up at half the slips on the new dock. Circuit breakers are popping for many of the boats on the new dock. Restaurant access from the docks has been cut off. Wifi doesn't work on the docks, only in the office. No ice machine as promised or advertised on the web site. Same for kayak, dingy, SUP storage. The new manager is very arrogant and has a know it all attitude. He does not care for or respect his paying customers. His response to any complaint or request is if you don't like it go somewhere else. Sadly the previous owner passed away and her business partner that took over is very nice but may want to consider a new manager or have a talk to him about his attitude. This used to be a fun affordable marina where customers were like family, not anymore.

They left out half the bolts on the front end, a couple gaskets, and never secured the reed block. Then when I tried to discuss the issues with the manager he was conveniently out of town for three months and has yet to return my phone call. This was my first and only dealing with this marina... Just deal with them cautiously.

Clean facilities, nice people, incredible location. Many of the members have been at GI for 10-20 years. There is a great bar and grill next door- good food and drinks. Newport is very accessible by foot or harbor taxi.
