Ridiculous, right? Right. We've had halibut, tuna, swordfish, fluke, scallops and even sapper from their icy stand at the local farmers' market. The inform you about what you're buying, are more than happy to help you select your fish and then make sure to pack it up nice and cold for the journey home. What I really love is their mission: local fishermen who practice sustainability so our waters continue to yield such a beautiful bounty. So, there you have it: fresh-caught, local seafood that is incredibly delicious and mindfully procured. You can order from them online, find them at farmers' markets or you can create a special agreement with them akin to a CSA (they call it a CFA). This is what I plan to do once the farmers' markets shut down for the season so I can get the goods all year 'round.

I called (Saturday, May 10, 2025) and asked for a call back on Monday to discuss their driver safety programs. Here we are on Friday, May 16, and there has been no response. If this company cannot be bothered to train their drivers about traffic rules or safety; and if they cannot bother to respond to a call; I would fear to buy anything from them.

Sadly, the RI fisherman quickly felt the downfall of all the restaurant closures and so the state allowed the fishermen to sell directly to the public. They set it up drivethru style so you don't even have to get out of your car. You pull up to the next available fisherman and they had lobsters and crabs. We went several times this summer and only missed out once, we went a bit too late and they had just sold out. There is nothing quite like ordering lobsters and watching them pull them directly out of the ocean in front of you. Talk about fresh. The lobstermen said that its great since they are able to recoup some of their losses however the downside is that they have to now stay at the dock and sell their product slowly, whereas before, they would dock and unload and head home. The guy I was talking to mentioned that they plan to sell lobster for as long as they can so he was thinking thru November at least, but that may change just like everything else does.

The business owners…read moreoriginally distributed their delicious oysters to restaurants, and due to their popularity, they have opened their own little raw oyster shack near the harbor where the boats come in. We got half "Dutchies" and half "Original" which is served on ice with lemon, hot sauce, and an apple mignonette. So fresh, so delicious, I honestly could have ate 12 more but there was a line (for a good reason)! This place is a must if you're boating or hanging out in Beavertail State Park. Included with it were french fries which were actually quite good along with coleslaw, which was a tad on the dry side, but overall good. Good experience, good service, a bit on the pricey side, but that's what you get when you're right on the ocean.
