    So, I'm not in the habit of writing negative reviews. I will here, though. This insurer is…read moredangerously incompetent. Let me explain how I went from paying customer of 12 years to uninsured motorist over the course of numerous preventable mistakes. 1) Bought a new car. There was some mistake in the transfer, and my insurance went from autopay to manual pay. Not a huge problem in itself, standard office mistake. 2) My insurance policy goes unpaid - no one successfully alerted me of this. OK, now this is in 'serious problem' territory. 3) My insurance policy is canceled - no one successfully alerted me of the cancellation, despite having my phone number on hand. Again, customer of 12 years, you'd think it would merit a call or text. 4) I needed emergency roadside assistance months later - the phone operators had no idea who I was. Luckily, I wasn't in an accident where either my fiance or I were injured, which could have left me financially ruined. 5) Adding insult to injury - I call the office to re-set my insurance. I liked doing business with State Farm, and I don't like switching insurers. My rate increased from $250 to $1250. The local agent was even kind enough to inform me that the price would probably be bad at their competitors, because I had been driving uninsured. Talk about salt in the wound! There you have it. I am now happily insured by a State Farm competitor at around $300. I don't appreciate being left uninsured, and I doubly don't appreciate having my rate massively hiked above the going market rate.

He's aways provided excellent service and has kept an exceptionally good office staff. I've no trouble with insuring nine different autos during that time. Quick, easy and accurate transactions. They are very responsive and helped with a handful of accidents over the years. One stands out, I was at Michigan Tech and wrecked the front end fo my car. They helped a great deal with the extended rental and transport of my car. I also use him for a college investment fund. I recommend Bernie wholeheartedly.

    I've only gone to this location a few times. I never had any issued with this branch at all…read more The credit union itself is pretty good. I have my mortgage and auto loan through Consumers. They have a very good interest rate for your checking account, but it can be a little difficult to reach the numbers you need to get the highest percentage. The only issue I have is my auto loan is suppose to be on auto pay, but I have to manually pay it from time to time, not sure what the bug is. All in all, it's a good credit union, and blows the water out of any bank around.

I have FOUR business cards in my file for CCU for people with whom we've been very pleased at the GRAND AVEGurnee location...and NONE of them are still there! Have to talk with some know-nothing at their main number who can't seem to use all kinds of personal info provided for BOTH my husband and I to move forward with the RENEWAL:...on our JOINT CD's.... that's BULLSH*T. 2.) We're experiencing some serious injury/illness extenuating circumstances and I requested to RENEW TWO CD's over the phone. She wanted a 'password' to identify me. WE don't have ANY **** passwords!!! Was REFUSED because the less than 'stellar' person on the phone couldn't 'find' and/or use any of the SS#'s, THREE phone numbers, address we've had for 35 years, and birthdates of both of us associated with those CD accounts INCLUDING the ACCOUNT numbers I gave her to verify the CD's I wanted to RENEW. I was RENEWING not withdrawing $$$.... this BS made NO SENSE!!! 3) Have been a member for well over 30 YEARS !!!! and was told I'd just have to 'come in' to renew... WELL I CAN'T right now!!! and needed to get these renewed before they rolled over at some piddly A$$ rate. 4.) I've grown to hate this place..... This is just ONE of SEVERAL...and I do mean SEVERAL various incidents of idiocy I've experienced with CCU. THIS is the worst financial institution with which I've ever had dealings.
