Definitely one of the most carefully crafted yoga studios I have ever been to. You sort of feel like you've been transported to somewhere in Southeast Asia. I love that there are heat lamps, blankets, and other accessories for use during the class. Although, the space is epic I didn't really find enjoyment in the class. It was supposed to be a relaxing low impact yoga class focusing on slow movements but I didn't really feel that at all. The instructor was nice but I found her transitions were confusing and sometimes didn't make sense. She wasn't really saying the name of the poses either. To me the instructions felt like I was taking a Pilates class. We were also holding the poses in my opinion way too long to the point I was actually feeling pain. And some poses were really advanced and didn't make me feel relaxed at all. I personally do not like it when there are lyrics in the music when I do yoga. Although it was more mellow indie songs I found it extremely hard to focus and it was kind of loud too. I would prefer just non lyrical relaxing music. At least for the part where we just sit/lay down towards the end. In summary, I don't think I would come back. I am used to donation based yoga around San Diego. If you want more traditional yoga I would just stick to the free classes around town.

It's in a super cute neighborhood (lots of coffee shops near by to try after class!). Everyone at the front desk is super nice and welcoming. I've taken a few of the classes in the main studio (which are "regular" yoga and slow flows). I've also taken a few of the hot flows, which are at their studio that's next door/across the street. The studio is not that hot compared to other hot classes I've been to, but for those that like a warm flow it's perfect. I've really enjoyed these classes. And then in my opinion the star of the show is their outdoor space, I've only been able to take 1 flow there in an evening, I really wish there were more classes offered there.

The studio is clean and light, and they have a lot of nice equipment to use as far as blocks, bolsters, and blankets. I've been to a variety of types of classes here, but most recently I did a deep healing class taught by Tiffinie. It was pure magic and my body needed that. 75 minutes of slow postures that are held for a little bit longer, mobility exercises, and breathing. I will definitely return and I'd like to make it more of a habit to visit the studio. Plus, there's a great smoothie shop next-door and tasty coffee available at the brewery just down the street!

I have tried everything but nothing was clicking or made sense or felt like it was beneficial. I learned finally "why yoga". There are so many variations. In this short time, I truly feel the difference. I haven't been consistent with going before, until now. Each class ends with Toosdhi providing sound healing and wow, she is a delight to hear. It's heavenly! I wish Yogabox would do this for every class and not wait for instructors to use their own money to add this feature. It's a value added touch that I've seen in other studios out of state and it's so appreciated because of how hot we get after the class. I hope management listens to this before other studios catch on!

He provides modifications and allows you to go at your pace that you are comfortable with, all while encouraging you to push yourself to the best of your abilities. His playlist is also amazing with music that will get you flowing! I was dripping in sweat after his workout, which is a great indicator to how amazing the sets were! Yoga box in Hillcrest is always clean, organized, and has the most friendly staff. They provide mats and towels (free for first time) and $2 thereafter. The room is heated to around 90 degrees and it feels like a warm hug whilst you are working out. Occasionally, the instructors will open the doors to allow fresh air in during the classes. They have cold filtered water as well as a bathroom inside the studio. They have weights and blocks for you to use depending on what class you're taking. There is free parking, but it's shared with other establishments in the plaza, so make sure to get there early enough to secure your spot. They recommend you come 10 Minutes earlier than your scheduled class to settle in. That feeling you get after finishing a tough workout does wonders for the soul! Careful what you bring into the actual yoga studio if you don't want the puppies chewing it. They chewed my slides and my water bottle, but it didn't bother me. If you have stuff, there are some little cubby spaces available. It wasn't super hard to find parking; it took us maybe 5 minutes to park (street parking) and then we walked about 2 blocks. Erica was teaching the C2 class and did an incredible job. She kept the class flowing without overly explaining the postures. Which I really appreciated being a seasoned yogi. In addition her soundtrack was awesome & she was a super kind instructor. All things combined made for a wonderful experience as a first timer at this particular studio. I did luck out with street parking in front. I'd say that's the only thing to plan ahead for as they mentioned there's $4 validated parking in the lot beneath the building & only street parking so just make sure to plan ahead & give yourself enough time to park and make it into class on time.
