Sharing my review from Google - If you love your piano, this is the guy to go to!!…read moreMy baby grand piano is over 100 years old so I didn't think there was anything that could be done to improve how it sounds. It had been tuned before by someone else, and it sounded "ok" for awhile, but there were keys not responding, with some even sticking, and it just didn't have the responsiveness that made playing it enjoyable. And after having just been tuned, it didn't sound like anything more than an old "tinny" piano sound.
So it sat for over a year not getting played. I lost interest because it was just "too hard" to play. After reminding myself that time passes whether we accomplish anything or not (let's not forget 2020), I called Scott to come look it over and see if I could find some enjoyment in playing again, with a piano that sounded better.
He looked it over carefully, determined it could be tuned and serviced, and explained how all the little pieces worked, or didn't work, in my case! It was fascinating to see the inside workings! Scott went about dismantling it, showing me all that it needed, but discussing with me what could/should be done now vs. what could be done later down the road, like replacing the keys or refinishing.
The result - a spectacularly sweet "voice" emerged out of MY piano that I never thought could happen from a piano this old! Who even knew that my piano had a distinct "voice"?? And the "action" of the keys was significantly improved! I couldn't believe it! I spent the whole next day in front of the piano practicing!
If you are concerned about quality service, need an honest assessment, and really care about your piano, call Scott. He emailed appointment details and a reminder, and then a follow up "thank you" email, to check in, and he listed everything that he had done. While at the house, he explained clearly and thoroughly what he was accomplishing, and was very personable, even making friends with my cat, who seemed to want to be a part in the action! Bottom line: Scott can help you with your tuning requirements or really dig deep to making your specific piano everything you want it to be!
