    Cigars

We have been going to cigar bars for years and before moving we would be at our local cigar bar a few times a week so we made it a priority to check out the local cigar spots. Out of all the local spots we visited we agreed that Stix was now "our spot". The owner is friendly and knowledgeable on all things cigars. There is a wide selection of cigars to choose from, comfortable seating inside, and excellent priceParking is easy and free behind the building with plenty of spots and a second door so you don't have to walk around the building.

Cigars by Felix Assouline…read more Perfecto! The cigars are all amazing =D =D =D As for this location, It is not a lounge. They are the manufacturer and you can purchase through their website or other retailers. Felix Assouline is the actual manufacturer of the amazing cigars they craft. Price range minus the French Puro is between $5 - $12. The cigars I had the privilege of tasting: -Two Saints -Ego -Ringo -Habana Sunrise -Something Special -CSB TWO SAINTS (II Saints): This is my favorite cigar for 2014. Wowzers. Just like the Brickhouse Maduro hit my palates in 2012 and I stuck with it for this long as my go to cigar until two saints rolled along. Two Saints is my go to cigar especially for the evening and after lunch or any time after a hearty meal. DO NOT smoke this on an empty stomach!!! The two sizes i frequently eat are the 6x54 and 6.5x56. They are box pressed. Two Saints is a very rich cigar with overtones of mocha (bittersweet coffee chocolate), floral annd earthy overtones. Two Saints is beyond full bodied and consistent throughout. Majority of full body cigars get heavier towards the last third but Two Saints hold the consistency throughout the whole experience. I have not had a problem with this any Two Saints so far, but my friend had the smaller ones and it didn't stay lit consistently with a small draw issue. Cigar Rating: 10/10 EGO This is also a full bodied smoke but not as heavy and thick like the Two Saints. Ego doesn't lack too much kick, but I'm a full bodied smoker so smokers beware. Ego has a bit of spice, nice kick, to it. With heavy undertones of spice, on the back palette you can taste hints of bittersweet chocolate (chocolate without the sugar + milk) and some rich cream/butter flavor that are common with Cubans. Since the Two Saints are my cup o tea, Egos are perfect during warmer temperatures or after a light lunch. Also good when there are no more Two Saints to smoke... The Egos I've had were also box pressed. Cigar Rating: 9/10 RINGO Ringo is a medium to full smoke more on the medium side. This is perfect lunch cigar but definitely doesn't cut it for post-dinner smokes. The flavors are a bit illusive. There is definitely some spice to it, but it's not spicy or mildly spiced. It's somewhere in the middle however the floral/fruity attributes are apparent. It has a weird orangey/lemoney taste to it. Like a bit sweet and sour. I smoked this cigar drinking ice tea. it's perfect with some kind of lighter tea blend. Maybe Earl Grey with Lavender or Bergamont will compliment this cigar well. Cigar Rating: 7/10 (Too mild for me). But this might be a good cigar for those who like medium to full bodied smokes (not super strong cigars but not too weak either). Perfect in between. SOMETHING SPECIAL This is a very very very mild cigar. It's pretty much weak for my boat. This is the perfect starter cigar or cigars for friends who do not smoke often. Just cause it's weak/mild does not mean it sucks. This cigar has a strong woody attribute. It would be an awesome cigar when I or anyone wakes up in the morning surrounded by trees and mountain. Like during husky season (Southern California's winters). Considering, I don't need to eat anything to smoke this, I would smoke this in the morning while reading the newspaper and drinking hot coffee on a chilly morning. The morning dew and mist compliments the woody attributes well. I just don;t smoke in the morning often except Sundays. My cigar rating: 5/10 (biased towards full bodied smokes) Overall cigar rating: 8/10 HABANA ESPECIAL (Havanna Special) This cigar is similar to the Something Special. Rather than have a woody flavor, this cigar is more.. spicy and bittersweet chocolate-ish. Very mild, smooth and the spicyness is up there. Like someone put tabasco on the wrapper or inside. I would also say this is a good starter cigar or for those who don't smoke often but the spiciness might be overwhelming for the un-prepared. Hence Something Special's woodiness might be a better fit for the overall public. This cigar is also perfect in the morning but not when exploring the outdoors. I'd smoke this for a far morning commute since food consumption isn't necessary. Perhaps smoking this with green, black or oolong tea in the morning will compliment the flavors well. My cigar rating: 5/10 (biased) Overall cigar rating: 8/10 I love their line of smokes and can not wait to taste this French Puro coming to shelves soon. I think many of you Cigar folks will like it. =D =D =D =D =Q =Q =Q =Q

We walk in and were greeted by a cloud of sweet cigar smoke and viewed floor to ceiling cigars on both sides of this thin shop. A woman and a man were at the center of the shop sitting at a tiny bar top with several liquor bottles against the wall in display - both were smoking big fat cigars. They had an expresso coffee machine at the bar. When you Check-In to the shop on YELP you receive a Free Cappucino Coffee. At the rear of the shop there was a small glass door room with the higher end cigars in display. A man, we think he was either a manager or family of the owner - not sure though, asked us if we wanted a tour, we thought, "theres more?" He walked us next door and it was a separate room with one elderly man smoking a cigar and watching sports on a wall monitor. At the rear of the room were several personal safes to store your coveted cigars for a fee of $400 a year. He even showed us a bathroom with beautiful decor, and I'm a big fan of a clean bathroom. We walked to the rear outside where there was a full bar and a poker table for friendly games. This cigar shop is a definite must see is visiting downtown Hollywood.
