Lots of things have changed in terms of process and aftercare, so I had a LOT of questions (not to mention, this was a four hour session to finally complete a tattoo outline that I gave up on a long time ago - double what I was used to sitting through). I had stumbled upon Ash's work through Google, and their style was exactly what I was looking for to finally complete this piece. I am so glad I did! Right off the bat, the studio was such a cool space, clean and welcoming. Ash was so understanding, and went above and beyond to ensure I was comfortable and informed throughout the process. They took time to understand my vision (what I didn't like about the existing work, offering suggestions and solutions), checked in frequently throughout the tattoo (making sure I was handling it ok, explaining what they were doing to transform it, what to expect in terms of healing - shading will lighten, etc). They were so patient with all of my questions, and so easy to talk to; aside from the tattoo, we had some great conversation about books, movies and more. They put me at ease and the time went by much faster than I thought it would! Last but certainly not least... I could not believe my eyes at the end of the appointment. Absolutely gorgeous, detailed work! I am going back for another session (or two) to complete it, but it already looks AMAZING. It is so much better than I could have ever imagined. Everything about the experience at Out Of Ink was positive. John was super knowledgeable and very upfront about everything. He was very detailed during the consultation portion and light years from pushy. The process was easy, it was not comfortable but it was not terribly painful, certainly easier than getting tattooed. Only took maybe 10 minutes start to finish. I do not know what other places charge but his pricing seemed perfectly reasonable to me. Erica was very honest and informative about what could be done with the tattoo I currently have. I was dead set on getting water color added to a current tattoo, but after speaking with Erica who gave me her professional and honest opinion on how water color works I realized it was not the best option. She never once tried to upsell me or tried to steer me in a bad direction. In fact she hit the nail right on the head suggesting that I get an addition, one which I was already planning on doing, to complete the piece.
