We recently hired Zachariah of Stillwater Cinematography to film our wedding and make a highlight film. To say we are happy and impressed with his work is an understatement. Zachariah was caring and thoughtful in the lead up to our big day, he made thoughtful suggestions and was flexible with our needs. He was timely, easy, and joyful to work with. All of that combined with his technical talent lead to a beautiful film that really captured the vibe of our wedding. He arrived the day before our wedding to capture aerial sunset footage of our venue. We were unsure whether to get the aerial footage, but Zachariah encouraged us to and in the end we are so happy we did! His drone footage was incredible and seriously added to the filming of our event. On the day of our wedding, he arrived early and worked really well with our photographer who he'd never met. He directed us well during necessary moments, but mostly went with the flow of the wedding. His expertise was clear when he knew where to place his many cameras and move them accordingly as the night went on. Additionally, his music background makes for wonderful audio to complement his video. We were lucky to have him also take pictures and delivered us a sneak-peek picture the day after the wedding! He then sent our wedding highlight film under a month after the wedding (honestly the only reason it took him that long is because we were slow in giving him the music suggestions)! The video is incredible. We have watched our wedding film multiple times already and know that it will be cherished for the rest of our lives. After being referred by a friend to use Zachariah for our wedding, we couldn't have been happier. In the weeks building up to the wedding, he was very attentive and accommodating to our needs and wishes for the big day. He was very quick to respond to any questions we had and provided us with invaluable advice as to how to capture the day. After reviewing some wedding videos I knew instantly that Zachariah was the person to go with. After all, he was the only one that got me to laugh/cry at a stranger's wedding video. What I didn't expect from him was he got some of the best photos from our day. Zachariah was easy to communicate with, friendly, on time, had a great easy-going vibe, got along well with the photographers, sent us a photo even before our wedding was over, and he picked the BEST music for our video! He creates a great 10 min (ish) video of your day (which we got only 10 days after our wedding) and sends along a external hard drive you hook up with a USB drive and can play the full ceremony & speeches easily. So glad we went with Zachariah - after going through our wedding we realized that while it's important to have professionals that do good work it's even more important to have professionals who are easy to work with - Zachariah is definitely that! read more

This is a really REALLY late review but after watching a friends wedding video recently, I couldn't remember if I ever gave Zachariah a review (I thought I had, but apparently not!). We hired Zachariah for our 2018 wedding in Lake Tahoe and he did not disappoint! We not only loved our video so much but I have to say that he had a very calming and caring presence on the day of. I remember I wanted to get some shots down by the water and on the rocks (which did require some slight hiking down) and he was all for it! He didn't rush us, he seemed genuinely excited to film us and he was really patient. He was hands down one of the best vendors we had that day. If you're debating, don't. Hire him! Figuring out which DJ to go with is kind of hard because of limited samples, but choosing videographer and photographer is much easier because you can see all their work online. Suffice it to say, after going through 30+ videographers in our search online, my wife and I were pretty convinced we have to go with Zachariah. One thing we noticed is that most wedding videos produced by 95%+ of videographers out there are so similarly... cheesy. And just very typical. But Zachariah's style is slightly different so it's really refreshing. You can see for yourself, but you can tell he's got that artistic sense. I'm not sure how to properly describe it, but it's more like a movie than a video. On the day of the wedding, he was so professional yet so fun to work with -- a low-key, calming influence in a day filled with many anxious moments. It also helps that he worked so well with other vendors. I've heard some interesting stories for some weddings but everything went so smoothly. Zachariah brought such a great joy and sense of peace to the wedding day for my little sister. As the Matron of Honor my biggest desire for my sister- the bride- was to enjoy her day. We could not be happier with our wedding video! My husband and I were absolutely over the moon with it. Initially, it was an exhausting task to try and figure out which videography team we should choose. Our wedding planner sent us more than two dozen videographers in the Bay Area, and it was nearly impossible to tell any of the different choices apart. Finally, I came across Stillwater Videographers, and immediately saw a stylistic difference.. the couple's on Zachariah's website were all individually genuine and several of the wedding video's brought me to tears. We got lucky that he was available and decided to stretch our budget because his work and creativity speaks for itself and we really felt that his style matched our own. From the onset, working with Zachariah was seamless. On phone calls with our wedding planner and photographer, he was easy to work with. He came a day early to the wedding venue to scout out the site and took areal footage as well. I'm a California gal but have spent the last 11 years living in NYC, working in finance. I'd say that my expectations as a 'type A' bride are pretty high and all about 1) quick responses to any questions we come across 2) a real commitment to working with us and understanding what focal points really matter 3) ease of working together. Zachariah excelled in each of these areas and we just love love love our wedding video! Our wedding had unlimited mistakes .. from the ceremony .. to one of the speeches .. and the fact that it should have been 90 degrees on our wedding day, but instead turned out freezing! Zachariah is a creative GENIUS was able to gloss over some of the less desirable aspects of our wedding and help us focus on the things that matter - our love for one another, all the little details we worked hard to incorporate for our big day, and all the fun and jokes we shared with our guests! Book them! I searched for months trying to find the best possible videographer, and I truly did. Zachariah is incredible. Not only did he work with my budget and last minute (a day before the wedding) change in timeline, but he added to the joy of the day. I worked with some high quality vendors that did good work, but Zachariah's positive attitude, sincere joy, and signature blend of professionalism and true enjoyment added to the joy and excitement of my day instead of taking away from it. Not only all of that, but our wedding video turned out UNBELIEVABLY INCREDIBLE! He managed to capture my husband and I in a way that showed our true "dork factor" and love for each other while making me look beautiful and showing us so happily in love- and our family and friends enjoying themselves tremendously. It is by far the best wedding film I've seen, and I watched at least 60 in search for our videographer. The first night we had the film, I watched it maybe 10 times. I cannot express how grateful I am to Zachariah for being so diligent throughout the entire process- skyping with me to introduce himself and meet my fiance and I, answering ALL of my detailed questions, putting up with my OCD timelines, working with my budget, using the songs we chose perfectly and even helping us pick the best songs while he was editing the film, making tweaks after the finished project and then fixing them, creating stills possibly better than our photographer, etc. I urge you with the highest sincerity to hire them if you can. Working with Zachariah is more equivalent to working with a caring and kind friend or family member who happens to be a professional videographer. I will love our film forever- it is unimaginably stunning and I can't believe how beautiful, moving, fun, high quality, and perfect it is. Even my husband cried while watching it.
