Fantastic place to bring kids up to 5 years old on a rainy day in McMinnville…read more We're visiting from out of town and we aren't used to all this rainy Oregon weather. So we tried to go to the other indoor playground, but they were closed. We were loitering in the parking lot and I asked a mom if there was any other place we could go. She suggested the Community Center and she took off super quick; I think she suspicioned that I was hitting on her. Anyway, we came here to find a friendly statue of Abraham Lincoln on a welcoming bench. Then we went inside to find friendly customer service at the front desk. It seems they have a lot of other facilities in the building, but we were there just for the toddlers playroom. It's for kids up to 5 years old. They welcomed us for our one-year-old and also let in our 6-year-old as long as she respected the other kids and the toys. It's a small fee for all-day use, with come-and-go privileges. They have a bunch of different kinds of toys that are best suited for kids 5 years or less. They have cooking sets, baby sets, toy cars and ride-in cars, balls, play mats, a couple small play structures, and small book shelf. There is a diaper changing table with wipes, bags for dirty diapers, and trash cans. One room has a tiled floor where people can eat snacks. The other, connected room is carpeted with no food allowed. Extra wipes are there for parents to clean toys after use. It seemed like the other clientele were regulars. They were nice enough and outgoing at times. I highly recommend this place on rainy days for locals and visitors alike. I'm sure there are bathrooms, but we didn't check them out. Limited off-street parking on all sides of the building, plus limited free parking on the street. If you choose to give a thumbs-up or not, I hope you found my review helpful!

VERY friendly folks there which isn't all that unusual. But they served up a killer breakfast at dirt cheap prices that was very filling. Great waitress! One of the better posts I've visited. The grass did not appear to have been freshly cut, no fresh mulch and there were some dead bushes near the areas where guests would be attending near the front of the building. The building was wedding ready and everything was functioning well! The day of manager was great to work with and all vendors appeared to know the venue well. The guests also loved the old feel of the building and it gave such a nostalgic and magical theme. Our family will always remember this day at the Old Schoolhouse with such fondness!

We joined the wine club. The setting is wonderful perched on a mountain overlooking vineyards and views of mountains. Ambiance is high end rustic with all the accouterments you might need. Breakfast every morning and wine tasting each evening. No lunch or dinner but we went into town when we needed meals McMinnville, Dayton and other smaller towns are all within 30 min drive. The gal behind the counter was very kind and explained to each wine to us and how it was named after the three daughters of the owners of the winery. The view is beautiful and the wine was tasty. Since it is after harvest, they had sheep wandering around the vineyard, it is an organic winery so they said the sheep were fertilizing. I believe it is also woman owned. They also have hairy coo cows. My friends are in the area for a few months and really like this winery a lot. I'm glad they shared it with me.

The location could not get any better. It is so convenient to all of the stores and restaurants. Our unit was like a small apartment. One small room with a couch, high bar table, small fridge, sink and microwave. That small room led to a pass through toilet/shower room. The shower was tiny and the doors to the toilet/shower room were just sliding barn doors so you literally hear everything in there (not sure if I'm a fan of that part). After walking through the shower/toilet room, you hit your bedroom. It was a nice size. For those with mobility issues, there is no elevator and the units are all on the second floor so you will need to climb stairs. Communication with Douglas on Third was excellent. They had very detailed email information on how to access the building, how to access your room, parking, etc. You may also text them to communicate. I would absolutely stay here again!

Douglas on Third is in a great location close to restaurants, wine tasting rooms, and everything…read moreelse on 3rd street. Major issue - there is no front desk or housekeeping staff. They do respond to complaints, but otherwise it is a DIY operation. Access is with coded door locks. They have excellent free self-parking, but they do not have an elevator to reach the rooms on the second floor. It's actually a flight and a half to the top of the stairs. Decent size guest rooms although ours was an unusual layout. Bathroom sink is in a tiny closet. Unexpected small steps between bedroom and entry area guaranteed to trip the unsuspecting guest on the way to the toilet - in the dark. Their excellent plush towels make up for the tiny shower stall with a shower curtain instead of a glass door. Room #3 has a view of a partially enclose narrow space between the building exterior wall. Somewhere inside this space there is an exhaust fan, probably from the Thai restaurant, that pumps out incredibly strong cooking odors beginning at 6am. Fortunately, they are closed Sundays, so we had one night of relief. They have a small lobby halfway between the ground floor and the guest rooms. Sometimes they have background music and coffee available, sometimes not. Overall, I think the room rates, ours was $300-$330 / night are too high. However, there are not a lot of options in McMinnville near 3rd street.
