Axe throwing alley

YES! YES! YES! So I went here last night for my first time for axe throwing. I wasn't really sure what to expect. Upon walking in, my friend and I were greeted with smiles and the friendliest of staff. Noah was AMAZING! He walked us through everything and stood there and taught me throwing techniques until I got it down. One of the most fun Friday nights. The place is laid out perfectly. Staff is beyond amazing. And it was a total blast!

We went for a company holiday party and had an absolute blast thanks to Jared and Dom! They were great hosts and we had an amazing time.

At the other one I've been to, we got protective boots to wear, a jumpsuit, hard hat, gloves and a full face mask. Here we got those things except a full face mask and boots. They have regular goggles and you wore your own shoes. I wore tennis shoes because I thought we would be switching out shoes for protective boots. I was wrong. I had to watch everywhere I stepped to make sure I didn't step on shards of glass and a few times, small fragments of glass flew in my face. I left with a small scratch on my forehead and small shards in my hairline. It's like they went under the hard hat. We spent five plus minutes in the parking lot afterwards, trying to remove glass from our shoes and hairlines. We got a private room, which was nice versus sharing with strangers. The room came with a Bluetooth compatible speaker for your personal playlist but it sounded very staticy and the connection kept dropping. While I appreciated this option over them playing whatever songs they wanted overhead, this made me made and I couldn't release my anger and frustrations properly out of fear of stepping on glass or getting hit in my face with it. I had to stop raging every five minutes to turn back on the Bluetooth speaker and to recalibrate it. I don't think I'll come back to this one.

Has designated parking, a neon sign for photo ops. Love how they use "axe" as a pun. The food was great! I had a garlic aoli burger and wings. Comes with pretzel bun and chips but opted to sub for fries which were a little overcooked for my liking but still delicious. They offer a full service bar and mocktails or NA versions of drinks. Our coach was DJ he was very knowledgeable, encouraging, and attentive. He checked in on us to make sure everything was okay. Can't wait to bring friends!

Not too many people were here when we visited, which made the experience even more relaxed and stress free. There is an art to throwing an axe. I can't say that I've mastered it, but I'm a work in progress. Booking online for a group is a little more expensive than if you do a walk-in with a group. I believe it was $10 cheaper per person. Parking isn't the best here, but there are a few parking garages and some street parking within the vicinity. Overall, great experience.

Boys' night out, so we thought that we'd try some manly stuff and throw a few deadly weapons…read moreagainst the wall. What better place to unleash the mayhem than at Faxons. They sanction the controlled chaos, and on top of that, they serve beer! Putting axes in the hands of beer guzzling lumberjack wannabes sounds like a recipe for disaster. But to their credit, Faxons keep a close eye on their patrons. They'll even help with your technique. That's throwing technique. You're on your own with how you tip your glasses. You'll have your choice on who or what to chop up. You can toss a blade into the skull of a zombie or something more woodsy like a duck. You won't even need a hunting license. Just have your significant other fill out the permission slip (aka the waiver) so that you can participate in the carnage. If an axe is a little too extreme, you can try your hand at tossing a different dangerous projectile. They have a couple of dart boards just waiting for you to pierce their numbers. They come complete with chalkboard so that you can keep tally of how many holes you make. I'm guessing they'd prefer the holes in the boards rather than the wall. It's a family-friendly place for all you 12 and olders. That is if your family doesn't lean pacifist. Quick Tip: I wouldn't recommend wearing open toed shoes. There's always the chance of the beer that's lubricating your inside, finding its way onto the axe handle and making it as loose as you. But as I mentioned earlier, Faxons keeps a close eye on the proceedings. You should be able to make your way out with all your appendages still intact. And maybe even a few extra if you're seeing double after swilling down a few.

We got 2 buckets of breakable/shatterable items which was definitely the most satisfying part of the experience. However, there aren't too many items after the shatterables that have the same satisfaction -- many already broken appliances (i.e. rice cooker, TV, keyboards). We called ahead to reserve a spot, and when we arrived, the guy working acted like he had no idea who we were or why we were there. The guy working was also cleaning multiple guns when we walked in, which was very weird and unprofessional. Not to mention it was a riffle- right in the middle of the business?!?! He then gave us lackluster instructions about "safety" and the room. The "safety briefing" was rushed and careless, like they couldn't be bothered. The room itself was tiny and could barely fit two people, let alone 5-6 people. All that you are given is a bucket full of glass that you go through in about 15 min (as two people). For the price, I expected a lot more variety and quantity.
