They sanction the controlled chaos, and on top of that, they serve beer! Putting axes in the hands of beer guzzling lumberjack wannabes sounds like a recipe for disaster. But to their credit, Faxons keep a close eye on their patrons. They'll even help with your technique. That's throwing technique. You're on your own with how you tip your glasses. You'll have your choice on who or what to chop up. You can toss a blade into the skull of a zombie or something more woodsy like a duck. You won't even need a hunting license. Just have your significant other fill out the permission slip (aka the waiver) so that you can participate in the carnage. If an axe is a little too extreme, you can try your hand at tossing a different dangerous projectile. They have a couple of dart boards just waiting for you to pierce their numbers. They come complete with chalkboard so that you can keep tally of how many holes you make. I'm guessing they'd prefer the holes in the boards rather than the wall. It's a family-friendly place for all you 12 and olders. That is if your family doesn't lean pacifist. Quick Tip: I wouldn't recommend wearing open toed shoes. There's always the chance of the beer that's lubricating your inside, finding its way onto the axe handle and making it as loose as you. But as I mentioned earlier, Faxons keeps a close eye on the proceedings. You should be able to make your way out with all your appendages still intact. And maybe even a few extra if you're seeing double after swilling down a few.

Weekday specials (yes they all have them) but the Monday $1.50 games and $1.50 shoe rentals are one of the best specials I've found. Keith, one of the resident pros (yes, he was on the PBA tour) has helped both of us improve our games and I still haven't figured out what days are his days off because he seems to be there every day! He's patient, easy-going and easy to talk to. Everything is clean and well-maintained and I will say I will return...and return...and return!

The Crag Nashville is clean, the employees are friendly, and they're very reasonably priced…read more I recently started a membership at the Crag, and me and my husband have been thoroughly enjoying learning the ropes (literally) of climbing and bouldering. The staff are always so helpful, and private instruction has been useful. Everyone is always willing to cheer for you and lend tips and beta when asked. We especially love being able to visit later on weeknights after work and have the gym largely to ourselves. I highly recommend to anyone looking to try climbing for the first time or join a climbing community.

We assumed the wait was either going to be really long or they'd turn us away all together because the place was full. Instead, the man behind the counter processed everyone super fast. A young man behind the counter cleaned and sent out shoes quickly and we got a lane in just a few minutes. When we got to our lane it was clean and an attendant was putting away the balls the previous group used. Drinks and snacks were inexpensive, not usual "bowling alley prices". I think it was $20 for a bucket of 5 or 6 beers. Full bar after 6 pm. They have bumper options, food, drinks, TV screens, pool tables, arcade games. All cleaned and maintained. I was so impressed. Life doesn't lead us to bowl often, but this is definitely a great spot to visit when it does.

The staff clearly hates their jobs. Came with my family for my sister in laws birthday, Tuesday mid morning. It wasn't very busy. Our initial lane broke down, they switched us to the lane next to our original lane, that one broke down as well and they took their time looking into the balls not returning. We went to tell the front desk guy more than twice about it, he didn't seem too interested in looking up from his phone and kept telling us the mechanic was looking into it. When the mechanic actually came to our lane (after checking the back when we told the front our problem was the ball return right by us), he got grumpy with us like it was our fault his co-worker didn't communicate clearly. He was very grumpy to be doing his job. Then took a phone call while trying to fix the ball return. There was maybe 6 total lanes in use, not sure why they didn't just move us. After a minimum of 20 minutes, they finally moved us to a new lane. After moving to a working lane, we enjoyed the rest of our game. We did have a fun time bowling and our kids did it for the first time and keep talking about going back, which we would love to, but because of the grouchy, unkind, crazy apathetic employees, we will be taking them to another bowling alley.
