I thought my life was over when I loss…read moremy dearest Grandma to Covid but Morris Funerals and Cremation Services made the whole funeral process seamless from start to finish. Marche is very professional and was extremely patient with my mother and I who both were emotional going through this funeral planning experience for the first time. It definitely feels weird actually writing a Yelp review for a Funeral Home but if my recommendations are used for valuable opinion of my taste in food, amenities, and more happy services... please take my advice for a funeral home. In the event that you ever need one I wouldn't look any further than Morris Funerals and Cremation Services. Everything was reasonably priced and lower than other funeral homes in Maryland that quite frankly to me seemed to be "milking" patrons due the surge in deaths from this killer Coronavirus. They went above and beyond considering the circumstances all while following state mandates and social distancing. Hopefully I personally won't have to visit them anytime soon but I know where to direct someone when they do.

Humor to help decide: I came across the site by mistake…read morewhile searching Yelp! So, because they responded so quickly, I decided to give them my yelp! So, I could tell it was going to be "one of those days" Did they provide a good value for their service? Yes, cause it's only money, and you cant take it with you. Did they respond quickly? Hope so! Were they reliable? Not my problem anymore... M.

Pay attention and watch this R.N. Horton funeral Service they will try and do take advantage of the…read morefamily and charge your love ones an additional 1,000.00 to have your love one service on a Saturday after the arrangements have been already fully paid for in advance of your love one passing. Examine the prepaid contract if they insist on getting the additional $1,000.00 well pay them for what they have done and have your love one picked up from Hortons by the new funeral home and taken to the other funeral home that will respect you get a refund from Hortons and this part is "important" get the new funeral home to order your casket. Remember "You" are in charge of your deceased family member not the funeral home. It's totally unnecessary to rip off family members handling the arrangements for an additional 1,000.00 pocket money for the funeral home to handle your loved ones after prearrangements has already been made and "paid for". Also if the removal person shows up to your residence to remove your loved one dressed inappropriately with a hoodie on and casual baggy pants like he's going to a ball game "as a representative of the funeral home" send him away call the funeral Home or another funeral home and "demand" someone that will respect your home and your family that will show up dressed appropriately with at least dress slacks and a decent shirt casual or dress shoes and don't accept them requesting your help to remove your loved one from your residence they should come prepared with two people remember you're paying for this proper service and you tell the funeral home what time to come to your residence to pick up your loved one if you're waiting for other family members to come to your home before your love one is removed from your residence generally they come automatically within 90 minutes but if you need more time let them know when you call to notify them of the passing of your loved one. .

I do recommend this place because of the ease of planning as it relates to services. They provide…read moreyou with several options. The only thing that was a issue for me was that when first sitting down to meet with someone a piece of paper was just sat in front of my face with no real directions or questions being asked to what I would like to see. If you are helping someone with planning while they are grieving or suffered a loss it is very confusing to just sit down and look at a paper with no real guidance or direction. The other issue I had was we paid for a service and it wasn't provided in the time that we previously discussed. Other than that the workers are very respectful upbeat and polite. A little on the pricey side but still decent.

My mom died in May in a memory care facility in Charlotte, NC. Our family has lived in Potomac, MD…read moresince the early 1960's, so both of my parents had made pre-arrangements with Pumphrey's Funeral Home in Rockville a decade ago. Thank goodness, because I cannot even begin to express my gratitude and appreciation to Pumphrey's for everything that they did to help me bring mom home and give her a proper, dignified burial next to my Dad. I had no idea how to get her home or what to do...Pumphrey's did it all for me. They arranged to transport her to a funeral home in Charlotte. They arranged to ensure death certificates were sent to me. They arranged a flight home for mom. They picked her up at the airport and brought her to the Rockville funeral home. They dressed her in her best and favorite gown, and they made her look beautiful. Will Pumphrey himself even took a photo of mom for me, looking lovely and at peace, so that I wouldn't have to come to the funeral home amid the height of COVID. Losing your parent(s) is tough enough, let alone the extra challenges I had to face in taking proper care of my mom. Pumphrey's took all of the stress and challenges out of my hands and handled everything for me. I am eternally grateful to these kind, supportive, caring professionals.

When your loved one passes, go ANYWHERE ELSE but here. My father passed very suddenly and I thought…read morePumphrey would be a good place to host services and I was sadly mistaken. We had family at the house, so we gave a courtesy call to reschedule the appointment, and he said "absolutely not". We only wanted to push the appointment back 30 minutes to an hour as it's been less than 48 hours since we received the tragic news and our big family is grieving a tragic loss. Mr. Pumphrey was not accommodating. This is very interesting because we still arrived to the appointment (about 15 mins late) and they did not have any other appointments that day. At the appointment (took about 2.5 hours) we were not offered water or anything to drink. Mr. Pumphrey would not even come to talk to my family, instead he sent his colleague to deliver the news that he would not take the time to come talk to us although he was in the building. I've never been to any business where I've asked for the manager and they blatantly declined.. especially when you're about to spend about $20,000! Pumphrey is more like DUMP-HREY as the way he treats his clientele is absolute trash. I'm pretty sure he is racist to anyone who isn't of Caucasian descent, so keep that in mind too.. Save your time and energy and go elsewhere to send your loved one to heaven in peace The only nice person who works there is Shelby, and I personally think she's out of place at such a mean-spirited environment. God help this place, it is very much needed.
