For the size of the counter, you can't ask for more from a meat market with prices that make shopping there a good value. I like that it's possible to get most everything you need and don't feel like making multiple stops. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. It's a bonus that on Saturday mornings there's an Amish family selling baked goods and canned goods in their parking lot. read more

Two different times I have bought rib eye slabs. The first one was tough and had a lot of fat. The second slab had a bad taste and was tough. My wife figures it was from an old milk cow. We're hoping it will taste better if we cut it up and use it for stew meat. The meat counter is nice but I would not recommend buying meat in slabs. read more

This is a great store. Not so much for regular grocery items but they have an amazing meat section. They sell whole slabs of New York strips and ribeye that are awesome. They will cut them for you at whatever size you want. They also have brats there that they make themselves. They make tons of different kinds of the brats so you can always find something for everyone and they are priced really well. One of my favorite things that they have at Steve's though are the dog bones in the freezer section. My dog goes absolutely crazy for them. read more

Yes, I do like this store. Great deli fried chicken and other goodies too.Nice staff@ Best fresh whole chickens arond the state actually...But...The last 2 years their pricing on meats is SLOWLY creeping up.This is an "up northday town, and most residents are low income"...Bring those prices down .There's no reason for your bef" to be as high or "higher than I can get it driving to Mt.Pleasant (Meijers) when they have their weekly "sales". I used to drive from Mt.Pleasant to Harrison as Steves beef was ,lets say $5.99 a pound for Porterhouse(sales) now it is never "lower than $8.99 on sales...No reason for this, as "its just "average quality beef".Now, we travel there(over a hour once a month) but end up with whole fresh chickens and "maybe" some pork meat(IF on sale) The "last year" the grade of pork has "not been as "tender" as years before".Bacon is fair priced and good...brats good...but "also getting higher....So, we "spend our dollars elsewhere, when for over 10 years we made the trip to "steves" because "both quality and pricing was so "below Meijers". the Steves'Staff is "remarkable"! always ready with a good happy attitude to help . read more
