Our first Goldendoodle had to be put down in 2016 and the practice was kind, caring and professional in every way. Sadly, that has all changed. Today, we took our second Goldendoodle (age 7) for a routine annual exam. She had no issues. The technician tried to drag her from the exam room to draw blood and utterly terrified this gentle, well behaved dog. When we addressed this with Dr. Curry, the response was somewhat defensive. Throughout the visit, there was no attempt to make our dog relaxed or comfortable; it felt like the vet and staff were in a hurry to get rid of us. We were floored, as this has, in the past, always been a kind, compassionate practice. Our dog left nervous and ill at ease, as were we. After over 17 years with this practice, we must fine a new vet. On top of all the lack of caring and defensiveness, the office gave the appearance of being very haphazard and disorganized. We had to walk our dog back to a room for drawing blood, passing an open door where another dog was being operated on in plain view. Completely unacceptable. Please think twice about taking your beloved pet to these folks. While there are still some good staff there, left over from Dr. Zehr's era, we strongly recommend against using them. It was an unnecessarily traumatic and unpleasant experience for us and our lovely dog.

She cost me over $2000 because she felt a foreign object in my dog's stomach. Not only was there no mass I drove to Greenville SC to get this diagnosis at a pet hospital that supposedly took my insurance suggested by this vet. They do not accept my insurance and had to come up with money to pay this bill. Let's talk about the INSURANCE she pushes. Trupanion. Supposedly pays the Vet or Hospital directly so no out if pocket expense. Good luck. Not only does she not support that but neither do the hospitals so be prepared to pay out of pocket and wait 4-8 weeks for reimbursement. She also pushes Purina dog chow....total crap! She told me it was advantageous to do an X-ray and bloodwork at her place because it would cost less however they repeated the X-ray when the didn't feel anything at the hospital. If you love your pet do not take them here. They never have time to see your dog and when they do they try and send you to MedVet which charges $1000 for an X-ray which I just found out she actually can do herself. That is another story in itself. Wonder what kick backs this vet gets!! Bottom line AVOID!!!

I am so relieved that we chose to trust Angels with Paws to care for our beloved dog, Clementine, on the hardest day. We will always be grateful to Brian and Roberta for their kindness, compassion, and respect. They were both professional and empathetic. They treated our sweet girl with dignity and allowed us time to say goodbye. I called and emailed to ask questions before needing their services, and they were both so patient, communicative and helpful, which gave me so much comfort. My questions about private individual cremation were addressed promptly and thoroughly by Roberta on the phone, and Brian by email. Although they offer pick up, it was important to us to go to Angels with Paws to ensure we felt comfortable. We were so fortunate to be able to choose in-home euthanasia, and we took our dog for cremation afterward. We arrived later than expected, and Brian was so accommodating, and ensured we did not feel rushed. We appreciated his quiet presence and empathy, and he expressed his condolences several times. Angels with Paws offers a nice selection of urns, memorial jewelry, and other keepsakes, too. The drive through the mountains from Asheville was beautiful, and upon arrival we felt such a sense of peace. They have chosen a lovely, tranquil location, and the crematory itself is located outside. We arrived toward the end of the day, and our amazing girl was wrapped in her blanket and cremated under a starry sky. We were relieved to hear that Clementine's ashes were ready for pickup sooner than expected. Our only regret is that Angels with Paws did not provide cremation services for our previous animals years ago. We have always had suitable experiences in the past, but this was different. Angels with Paws is a locally-owned family business and they genuinely care. They took extra time to honor our wishes, and this meant more than words can express.
