I highly Paul for any of your DJ needs! We found him on Yelp and Weddingwire and asked if we could…read morewatch him DJ locally to see how he performs and he provided us details on the time and location. He has a very simple and efficient set up with lights and sound systems. What was really impressive for us were the music videos that he played that went with the music. Once we saw that and saw/heard his transitions we knew he was the DJ we wanted. We had an unusual theme for our wedding, we did a costume theme "Talk Nerdy to Me" and Paul was not only happy to work with us, but he also had some awesome ideas on how to truly make it our own. With the video screen package, he was able to do movie/you tube clips and a slide show. When it came to getting strange and unusual music, Paul was able to do it with no issues. We asked for quite a few songs that were not in his database including traditional Chinese and Estonian Country music and he was able to get it with no issues. His online planning system made it really easy for us to put our Ceremony and Reception plan together. All of my guests LOVED the music choices. Part of it was our doing in putting together a song list, and part of it was Paul reading the party and playing accordingly. He even accommodated my niece's request for the Hokie Pokie. Don't take my word for it, Weddings are not the gigs he does in the DC area. Watch him in action and see for yourself. I feel that if other businesses book him on a regular basis, he is probably a good choice for your wedding. I am really glad I acted on this assumption, and had a chance to work with Paul. He has my highest recommendations.

At the last minute, he wasn't going to be able to get his equipment out to us in time so I found Paul and reached out to him. Paul told me he was available and met with us in person. He was reasonably priced and we couldn't have lucked out better for a last minute booking. Even though our friend couldn't DJ, Paul let him do all of the introductions which was really sweet. He even let our friend take the reigns and do a couple songs! Paul never felt like our friend was stepping on his toes and we really appreciated that he let us do that. Paul kept the party going from the beginning. I've had so many people since the end of our wedding telling me how great our DJ was. We had a weird mix of twenty somethings and sixty somethings with not much in between. Even still, Paul was able to judge the crowd and keep people dancing. I don't think there was a second all night long that people weren't all over the dance floor! His online portal is very straight forward and easy to use. I was able to put in many details and everything we wanted to hear was played at our wedding. Paul is also not one of those DJs that keeps interrupting songs to talk. He knew when it was appropriate to interject and when it wasn't. My husband commented that this was one of his favorite things about Paul: his professionalism on and off the dance floor. Definitely consider Paul Surreal Entertainment for your next event - you won't regret it!

Park on the left and walk along the back of the house to come up on a deep landscape of rolling hills with sparse fall colored foliage peaking behind some. Separating the property is an almost never-ending white fence that sweeps off and to the right. 2 large wide trees stand close to the house on the left. The brick walk that leads you to the back of the mansion follows into an almost covered bridge style gazebo which then escorts you into a large heated permanent white tent with a light wooden floor and tiny strung globe lights that create outward rays from the top center, almost 20 feet up. Damn, this venue is as cute as a muf! I wanna have my wedding up this in B. At the ceremony space that stands in front of one of the large hawthorne trees, are 2 brightly colored shining barrels for massive floral arrangements to hug the happy couple. Beside the tent is a raised brick patio where guests can enjoy a cocktail or 5, and if you step into the house, you'll find treasures of those described on Portabello Road #BedknobsAndBroomsticks My eye catches an old cabinet-style victrola, a baby grand piano, and rugs from around the world. Everyone who attended raved about the beauty and character of the house, the historic elements, the pond and the hedge maze! The attention to detail is exquisite! No detail went unnoticed by them and you can tell they put so much time and effort into making sure their guests were comfortable and enjoyed their stay. I couldn't have dreamed of a better blend of historic elements and modern comforts. Being in the house took me straight back to the 1700s in the best way possible! Now for the details: The bed, sheets and down comforter were the best I've ever slept on! The kitchen came fully stocked with everything we needed to host a party! The Edison lights and fire pit were the scene of many good times with friends and family. Some of our guests even fished the pond (catch and release). The library was by far my favorite room. We could hardly count the fireplaces also! The sunroom was a lovely addition to overlook the back of the property. Even the art on the walls made me smile. The furniture and decor were clearly picked out with an artistic eye that overlooked no small detail. The historic doorbell was the cherry on top! It's impossible to list all the things we loved about the property, we could go on for days! We are so grateful to have had the opportunity to make so many memories here at your estate! Sometimes I forget they are right in our back yard. We made reservations because I saw online that they highly recommend to make them. However, when we got in, it was totally empty, I guess we were one of the first reservations, but it didn't matter we like it like that. We were seated and then offered drinks to start. The menu was set up a course meal. That day, we have a 4 course meal. Appetizer, Soup, Entree and Dessert. We started off with bread that came with a chive dip. Usually you get butter but this was better. Bread was crispy and the dip was tangy and almost ricotta flavored & textured, paired great together. We then got our cocktails of the month, and old fashioned and blackberry margarita. It was very tasty and strong! Then we got soup, we had broccoli cheddar soup. The soup surprised us because it was green instead of yellow like other places make. Regardless of color, the soup was delicious. Then our entree came. I had the scallops and my husband had the Filet Mignon. Now these portions are huge!!! The steak was perfection! Pink throughout and seasoning out of this world! The steak soaking in the sauce with potatoes and veggies, was phenomenal! My scallops was made perfect! Not too chewy or hard, was very flavorful and just delicious! Then after digesting we found the strength to eat our desserts. I have a mixed berry with a myers sabayon and hubby got sticky rice with mangos. Let's just say this put into a food coma! Everything was beyond what I expected and definitely had me talking about this meal for months. I am truly happy that this place isn't too far from our house because we will be going back again! My thanks to the staff and chef for making our first time experience the best!
