She always works with me to make sure I have the correct contact lenses, and she explains what's going on with my vision and any issues I ever have. She makes sure I understand when I have vision changes and works hard to make sure my contacts work and are comfortable for me to wear daily. The receptionist and front office staff are wonderful as well. They work hard to be sure we are getting the most out of my insurance. I have a particularly special prescription in one of my eyes, and this makes my yearly lenses rather pricey, so any help I can get on making sure my insurance pays what it is supposed to pay is great. Making appointments are easy and hassle free as well. Highly recommended! I wouldn't trust my vision to anyone but Dr. Sharon Billingsley, and I haven't for over 2 decades.

Very excited for the next eye. In my opinion, the staff were very kind and professional. Negative: The patient is given a date for their surgery well before the procedure; however, they are not given the appointment time until TWO DAYS before surgery. The patient is told the procedure only lasts 8 minutes. Upon arrival, there is a sign posted on the door. It says driver's must stay on the premises throughout the surgery. My friend was not told that. When she checked in, she was told the ENTIRE procedure would take 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Glad I don't have plans. This means patients who use ETHRA, or a similar service, need to make alternative plans. After she went back for her surgery, I realized the chairs were very uncomfortable. If people are required to sit in those for two hours they should at least be somewhat cushier. I was getting thirsty and all I could see was a water fountain. I asked if there was a coke machine or cafe in the building. I am not a morning person and needed some caffeine. I was told there was not anything in the building to eat or drink. I was able to get a granola bar, meant for recovering patients, from the nice lady at the front desk. Also, while standing there, I saw a sign saying when the patient is ready to go, you will receive a call from a specific phone number. Nice to know. It was summer. I was in shorts. I almost froze to death. For two hours. In summary, your friend or loved one is in good hands. As a driver you should plan on a long stay, bring snacks and drinks, a pillow and blanket or coat.

I didn't have to wait long before being taken back to the examination room. Dr. O'Brien has a very calm and soothing way about him. I must admit I was very anxious, as this was my first eye injury. Dr. O'Brien was very thorough in making sure I understood his procedure, and what was about to happen. A steady hand, with a bit of reassurance, and the Dr. O'Brian had finished. The assistant scheduled my follow up, and I was on my way. I even received a phone from Center of Sight to check in, and to see if I was planning on keeping the follow up appointment. I will definitely continue to use Dr. O'Brien, and would recommend him to anyone in need of an ophthalmologist.

I told him the VA authorized it, then he (as well as front desk personnel) stated that the VA usually does not pay it. I am 100% Disabled Combat Veteran and the VA provides for all my healthcare needs. Then the front desks personnel stated I could always forward their bill to the VA. NOTE: The VA does not pay for anything that was not preauthorized. As I have already had three surgeries on my left eye and received eyeglass prescriptions the past two years through VA authorization to Baptist Eye Surgeons, I asked to speak with the Doctor. After all, I had an appointment to see him. Carter replied, "No, he is busy". To top off the complete waste of time, I asked for a copy of the VA authorization. Cherokee Health Systems Clinic Review…read more I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised by how wonderful this little clinic was! It's a hundred times better than the typical roadside walk-in clinics, where the staff can be rude, the environment feels unclean, and the doctors don't seem to know what they're doing. From the moment we walked in, the friendliness of the entire staff--from the receptionist to the nurses--was outstanding. Everyone was thoughtful, kind, and incredibly welcoming to both myself and my daughter. I was also blown away by the technology they use. We were taken to our room and had a virtual consultation with the doctor, while a nurse checked my vitals in person. The doctor could hear everything in real-time, right from her office--wherever that was! I was seriously impressed. Thank you so much for getting me in without an appointment and for treating us with such kindness. I highly recommend this Cherokee Health Systems clinic--it truly exceeded my expectations.

She would always make sure I had that meds I needed especially when it come to my breathing and retaining fluid. But Jewel Birdwell only cares about money. I should not have to go in or be told to go to another clinic in order to get that meds I need. In only told I have to go in so they get paid. I hate it there and I feel so uncared about in that place. I had a CT scan done through them free yrs ago. Was never told I had a hernia until I went for another ct scan regarding something else. They are chewy negligent there, and they sure don't care about their patients. This is the second time she's done me like this and I was well swelled up and having trouble breathing and it was all over a inhaler. I started to report her last time but I didn't but first thing Monday morning I'm reporting it. They know I have no transportation but tell me to go somewhere else when I was just seen there two weeks ago. It's all about the money. Deborah Allen always phones the meds in I needed so to tell me she can't unless I'm seen is a crock and I have emailed to prove it. Deborah even has on my chart how much this medicine helped me lose fluid and breathe better IDK what it is about her and me but I'm tired of being told I have to come in or go be seen somewhere else when she's my dang doctor. If that's what you wanna call her. I'm taking a stand and I'm reporting this. I feel like I'm being discriminated due to my past and this medicine isn't even narcotic. 8 her the medicine and start breathing better and losing fluid, and she just stops giving it to me. To me that ight a doctor that cares. But I knowi don't have to be seen again in order to get my medication. Nurse only lied to me. I pray God helps me find another doctor cause this place is unreal. And very judgemental. But it's all good cause God sees me and that's all that matters So I recommend if your planning on going there too the 5th avenue location reconsider and try Somewhere else Maybe the Western Ave location or The Faith health clinic. I've heard nothing but good things about them Cause this place rather watch you be at risk then to help you if you don't go in so they can get they money
