November 14, 2022 is a day I will always remember. . .  My husband, my son, my two dogs and I were…read moreon our way up north to see my mom.  Unfortunately I never made it there.  We were at a stop sign on Bruce Road.  I was in the back seat of our truck and I heard my husband swear just before the impact of being hit from behind.  The impact propelled our truck in the air, we did a 360 and we came down, upside down, in a field.  When I came to, I was hanging upside down from my seat belt.  The dogs, my husband and son had crawled out of the windows in front with the help of those that helped. I struggled with the seat belt and dropped to the top of our vehicle before I was able to get out. Thankfully, after being checked out at the hospital, my husband had the presence of mind to find an attorney--Albrecht Law.  We met with Evan Schneider and Melanie Evans.  My mind was a blur, but I remember feeling welcome. This duo made this life-altering event easier. They gathered as much information as they could, and I continued to live and try to heal.  At this time, we moved out of state where a job was waiting for me.  Every time I had a question, I would contact them and they would respond, calming my anxiety, contact the medical providers (as bills were piling up), and dealing with the insurance companies.  Often they would call me just to check on me. I went through many ups and downs--I have a traumatic brain injury and PTSD.  This accident has changed my life forever.  I am shocked at how much Evan and Melanie did behind the scenes. Never did they accept first offers as they knew how much medical help I needed and would continue to need.  Bottom line, I would not have nor could not have gone through this horrible experience without the friendship and guidance of these amazing people at Albrecht Law office.  I am grateful to them for helping me. Pretty damned convenient! His firm is part of the Brown, Justh & Romero group of lawyers. I was a victim of a crime and had several questions regarding liability, negligence and a clear legal perspective of my rights as I do not have a working knowledge of the criminal justice system. Mr Romero spoke with me in detail, answering every question I presented and reviewed several options from tapping into the dead great uncle's trust fund to how to present your evidence 101 for those budget minded folks like myself. I wish I had a trust fund :0( Mr Romero does not work on personal injury cases, but it seems that he does everything else within our friendly community. He could have simply wooshed me from his office within 5 minutes, and referred me to a personal injury attorney--instead he took a half an hour to review my case, clarify my concerns and address my questions. I would have gladly paid his anticipated wage of $210.00 for the legal consultation--and he was kind enough to waive the fee as I had done business with him in the past (living will, power of atty, medical directives). However, we both now have dropped Lucent Law due too poor communication. They do not respond to emails, phone calls, or your needs. They will let you know they will call or email you and you never receive anything. I have been waiting 3 weeks for an email I never received. They also did this to the person who recommended them to me. The lack of communication is indicative that they will not put your needs first, and that breaches trust that whatever you hire them for will not be taken care of in your best interest. I suggest looking elsewhere.
