I had previously gone to another optometrist but felt his diagnosis of my problem was not right. There was no comparison between the two optometrists. At FYI, my exam lasted an hour and she took the time to explain in detail about my vision problems. I would highly recommend FYI Doctors if you would like a honest and thorough exam.

They refunded the cost and Alana kept my glasses. I paid close to $300.00 dollars just for the frames! "Lauren Hutton" black frames. I remember the last technician complimenting on them, and he is no longer there. As the years past...I had received another pair of glasses from another optometry but this optometry was in another province. No problems with the glasses. It was two years until I needed another eye exam....thought I would try them again...thinking people will change and giving Alana another opportunity to correct the situation. I gave them my glasses for the updated prescription again ...and again they were giving me headaches...so went back in, complained, refunded and had to demand to receive my glasses back...she replaced the old lenses with some ones that were in the garbage can. The staff here go out of their way to be kind, patient, and accommodating--without making a big deal out of it or singling anyone out. The environment is calm and thoughtfully set up, which makes a big difference if you're sensitive to noise, light, or busy spaces. I never feel rushed, and they always take the time to explain things in a way that feels clear and respectful. I have since heard negative feedback from several Kamloops people that had been to see her, but I decided that because my experience was a good one the first time I saw her, so I ignored their negative feedback and decided to go have my eyes tested. Over the years things have sure changed, and not in a good way! I would have to agree with all the negative feedback unfortunately, and wished I'd listened to the people who had tried to warn me. I found her to be very abrasive, rude and it was not a pleasant experience at all. I would not recommend her if you would like to have someone who is compassionate, and has a nice "bedside manner" that you would hope for and come to expect when visiting a "professional" in the medical field. The office is clean and on the surface appears to be a place you would feel comfortable in, state of the art equipment - until the moment you come in contact with Dr. R. Saunders. She seems to be a person who doesn't enjoy her job anymore, and either needs a nice long vacation or to retire from the profession she clearly no longer enjoys.

If you are there with an injury you are expected to be dressed and or undressed in less than 10 seconds. I had a number of apointments that day including three at the office. 1 for massage, 1 sauna, and 1 with chyropractor. When i came from the steam room i was told that i had missed my chyropractic appointment. She set the sauna to 1 hour, instead of half an hour and did not see fit to walk down the hall to tell me my time was up. Apparently, while in the same building u are supposed to keep your own time. She was rather angry with me, when i told her she could have knocked on the door and snottily told me that there was a clock on the wall and i should learn to use it. I cannot speak for all the masseus's in the place but i would not see Jenna. She is brutally agressive. She recommended a treatment that she knows nothing about, in my case a cleanse. Being familiar with cleanses i inquired of what type she felt was nessisary in my case and she showed no knowledge of product or what type of cleanse i needed. I have been to her for 3 massages. The first one went well the 2 after i felt more pain than i did when the injury first occured. When i complimented her about the first one she came defensive, when it was meant as a compliment.
