I understand Dr. Barrick here is offering a more comprehensive Doctor for extra cash per year. Does this mean he will read a CT scan, not just order them? Hope this all may not happen to you, but he was my PCP through a Spine Fusion I had with a real piece of work Kenneth B. Kurica. You may have heard of this clown back then, when he was busted with cocaine in his system while he was performing Spine operations. Check it out at (CODORA.com, Disciplinary actions) I also recommend checking your own Drs. out. This surgery is where they take a disc out of your spine and grow the two vertebrae together as one solid piece. Well mine overgrew and overgrew, with bone slowly crushing the nerves going into my legs and feet. Three CT scans were run over a 4-year period, the last one was ordered by Barrick, 6 months before I finally found another Spine Surgeon in Denver that would look at me, "properly". This would be the third surgeon, "that I was told", looked at my films. He found the bone was overgrown, so bad, you couldn't even see an opening for the nerve root by a side view of the spine in the x-ray. The Surgeon pointed out all the other openings for the nerve, but this level was completely white, "no nerve opening", as stated by the Surgeon. The pain "trying" to be covered up with a morphine pain pump going directly in my spine, loaded with Fentanyl. The last days my feet felt like they were being scorched in boiling water, meet with, feel sorry for you, eyes, and by some," and, ya right, smirks" by others, as I told them what the pain went up to, at night. Basically, a nightmare for what, going on 19 years now! Barrick failed to read the third CT scan, or read it fully 6 months prior to the problem being found, that stated "Impinged S1 nerve roots" in it. I was told, "again", "we don't see anything wrong" by Barrick. Now I've had a permanent pain problem for the last, 19 years, total. My feet started an Icy coldness and went to burning with leg pain Oct. 2000, requiring the surgery. Following the surgery, the medications were keeping the leg pain, somewhat tolerable, as long as I stayed still long enough. I had to lay about every 20 minutes for 30 minutes to get strength back in them. I developed a blood clot in 2004 due to all the inactivity. The pain quacks, acted like, "I could just live on pain pills the rest of my life". Well surprise!! You've now heard of the "opioid crisis". I'm given the choice of finding my pain control from the street or live with the pain, these "idiots" put me in. I truly believe, if Barrick didn't have such an "attitude" about pain medication, (like a very many of these creeps automatically have) he would have maybe looked at a CT scan properly. You can now, go ahead and make the decision if he may be worth being bilked out of an extra $4000 a year, for "extra special" medical care!!? ....CASH! read more
