They helped me when I was first injured on the job, and are back to helping me again as my flareups have gotten worse. Not only do I get some much needed adjustments, but we've discussed what I need to do to help my body get back to healing. The cost is very very reasonable for cash patients and unlike many places, Dr. Wasserman never advises anything unnecessary - he formulates a plan and will adjust from there based on how I respond to treatments. I've never felt more welcomed or cared for anywhere else. And I'm not the only one! My parents and sister have all been patients at one time or another as needed and Dr. Wasserman has helped us all (and again, both he and Johanna remember my family as well and ask after them). So I'm kind of obsessed with chiropractic care... and I was really not looking forward to having to find a new one once I moved back to So Cal. After a horrendous move and weeks of sleeping on air mattresses, I was pretty done in and decided to take my parents' recommendation and see Dr. Wasserman. I have to say - he does not disappoint! In the beginning, we had to do the electrostimulation on my neck (I was so messed up!), which freaked me out a bit but he talked me through it. Now, each adjustment starts with about 10 minutes under a heat pack, which definitely helps the adjustment go smoother. He's clearly very good at what he does, and I've always had the best adjustments. And if I ever had any doubts... his commentary (Oh, boy that was a GREAT ONE! All in one try!), definitely keeps things lively. Dr. W's wife, Johanna, runs the front desk. They take most insurances, and even have a pay-in-advance package for folks without insurance or who have a high deductible. Dr. Wasserman has been my chiropractor since 1992! Before he became a chiropractor, he was a Registered Nurse. He does way more than crack and manipulate. He takes the time to listen to his patients to find out not only the problem, but the reason for the problem. He employs many techniques to alleviate pain and he works on more than just backs and necks. He constantly attends seminars to keep his techniques current. Over the years he has treated me for whiplash, every back and neck problem imaginable, tennis elbow, bursitis in my knee, tendonitis in my wrist, pain in my ankles, and so many more ailments. He uses many tools other than manual manipulation. He uses an activator, ultrasound, cold lasers, and more. One very recent example of a successful treatment is when I got Tennis Elbow. I made an appointment with an orthopedist specializing in elbows. I had an xray and the doctor thoroughly examined me. He told me that it would take 6-12 months to heal, to wear the brace, and don't do anything that hurts. If I couldn't stand the pain (I could) they could give me a cortisone shot. He offered no other healing solutions. At that point I'd already been doing exactly what that doctor ordered for three months. I finally talked to Dr. Wasserman and I began having ultrasound and cold laser treatments. I began to feel improvement IMMEDIATELY! Another wonderful thing about Dr. Wasserman's office is Johanna, his wife and office manager. She is pleasant, fun, warm, and extremely professional. If you call her and you are in pain, she will GET YOU IN! There is no game playing at this office. Dr. Wasserman takes every patient seriously and with a great amount of caring. This review is long overdue!! When I travel to Orange County for business, I make it a point to see Dr. Wasserman! A number of years ago, I injured my back and neck while on a business trip. Happened to be on a weekend, and I was desperate for help. Called the office and left a message with extreme urgency. Got a call back shortly thereafter. Dr. Wasserman made a special trip to see me on a Saturday late afternoon. Excellent bedside manner, gets into the crux of the problem, and takes his work seriously! After an (elaborate) examination and his evaluation (he precisely reviews everything), we did a series of manipulations to my neck and back. Just amazing and gratifying experience. This doctor is gentle but precise, he gets the job done! Also offers a variety of physical therapy treatment options as well. He even has a digital x-ray machine, yet another great perk when needed. I make a point of seeing Dr. Wasserman every time I am down south, regardless of whether I am in pain or not. The alignments he provides are amazing! Very nice office, clean and efficient. I have seen Dr. Steve for several years, after escaping another practitioner who changed his method to one that caused me to fear for any adjustments my neck. (I have fused cervical discs, so need to be careful.) Initially, he treated my dachshunds at VCA and when I saw the kindness and consideration he showed them, I had to see him, too. His exams are very thorough and his treatments always stem from your symptoms on that day, not what may have been adjusted in the past. Dr. Steve is also an R.N. and this additional education, training, and knowledge enhances his points of reference so each treatment is the best it can be.
