Adding my complaint here since they have decided to fraudulently send me to collections and sold…read morethe "debt"... Again quoted very low, started work, EOB from insurance informed me they were not, forced into payment plan to finish work. BAIT AND SWITCH Now I'm having to file a suit with the CFPB (Consumer Financial Protection Bureau) for them to investigate... ORIGINAL FACEBOOK COMPLAINT: DO NOT USE THIS PROVIDER!!!! I will try to get this out as best as possible. I chose this provider because they had almost nothing but 5 star reviews. However, my experience has been nothing but a 1-star as of lately. I first went in on Feb 7th 2024 for a full consultation as I needed 23 teeth pulled and dentures. My teeth were horrible!! I have UHC with 5k yearly spending so it's a very good plan. They did my exam and gave me a statement / quote saying the full work would be around $3200, but that sometimes that amount varies by a few hundred. Okay no big deal Fast forward to the appointment. I had to wait until April 2nd due to saving up the money. I go in and pay my $50 deductible, and the estimated cost of $2500 for the work being done that day. Well, everything goes well outside normal issues with teeth removal, and I go home. 2 Weeks later I get the EOB from insurance informing me that they are NOT in network as they told me several times they were and that my cost was already 5k + for only half the work being done. I call in as it must be a mistake and I'm told that there has to be an issue that the Dentist will call UHC and find out why they are no longer in network and get it fixed, but in the meantime to keep getting services lets setup a payment arrangement and you can be reimbursed. So, I agreed to 1k monthly thinking this would be resolved. Well May 24th I go get the rest of the work done, and insurance kicks back again and bam another 6k I owe. At this point insurance has paid 4.5k to the provider and the provider is billing me another 12k. 16.5k in and all I've had done is 23 teeth pulled and immediate dentures. I still need perm dentures. On top of this, I have been unable to wear my dentures and have been losing weight due to not being able to eat as there are complications I cant get fixed due to the cost..... This is a very clear switch and bait. Quoting 3k and it being over 14k is not a minor quoting mistake. I am now looking into lawyers and know there will be a fight on my hands. Please save yourselves from this trouble.

My daughter had what we think was an infection caused by a broken tooth. Mind you she is anxious…read moreand extremely fearful of dentists and needles. I appreciate that Dr. Gutya was kind and gentle with her. As of today she is on the mend after what could have been a much more traumatic experience and doing well! Thank you for the patience and understanding of my fearful lady child and making sure we don't have to go through this again!

I've been a patient of Dr Gutta twice now, the first time at his Midland office and the second time…read moreat his Odessa office. He removed an impacted wisdom tooth for me in 2015, and he removed a broken molar, did a bone graft, and installed a post for a future implant in December of 2020. He also removed a second (thankfully I only developed two) impacted wisdom tooth that was trying to dig its way into my sinus cavity on the same visit in December 2020. Both times, he has been happy to explain in detail what he was doing and why it was needed, what medications he was prescribing or not prescribing and why, and what he recommended for future treatment. He hasn't tried to push for any additional procedures, with the exception of a letter letting me know that he had started offering cosmetic surgery such as face lifts in 2016, about a year after my original visit. Yes, his work is expensive. So is every other oral surgeon out there. My first extraction with him, in 2015, cost a little less than $1200. My second set of extractions, bone graft, and post, in 2020, cost a little over $4300. The abutment that he'll do before it's ready for a crown is set to cost $220, and then another dentist will take over to do the crown. All of my visits have been done under anesthesia, since local anesthetics don't work well for me, so that's contributed to my costs. All of my dental work has been paid out of pocket as well, since I don't have dental insurance. Yes, he can be a little bit abrupt, and he is very blunt- he doesn't pull punches when explaining what's wrong or how you've contributed to the problem. I can see how some people might interpret that as rude, but he's never been rude to me. He told me flat out that if I don't take better care of my teeth, I'll end up needing more pulled or replaced, and it'll be sooner rather than later. I've never heard him yell at anyone, cuss at anyone, or berate anyone. Most surgeons have a degree of arrogance, so maybe I've just written it off as that, but I've had someone with me to drive me home after each appointment, and they didn't see any rudeness from him either. All in all, I feel that I've gotten solid care from Dr Gutta and his staff. Obviously I hope not to need his care often, but I have absolutely no hesitation recommending him to others, and I intend to use his practice in future if and when I need an oral surgeon again.
