Structural integration is like no other type of physical medicine I've ever experienced. It's kind of like shiatsu massage, but working with the structural fascia tissue. My expectations were as high as Steve's prices, but unfortunately I was greatly underwhelmed with the massage I received. The touch was gentle, a lot of the time was spent getting off the table to walk back and forth and be assessed (then told, rather than asked, that I was better). I didn't feel the problem areas were addressed, and I left feeling no better than when I came in. The massage, far from being therapeutic, wasn't relaxing either, due to the short and random seeming touch and the frequent breaks to get off the table. I finally finished my series of 10 sessions. I really wish I found this earlier. So much has changed in my body it's actually a miracle. I am standing upright and feel completely balanced when I stand and walk. I had a very difficult time just walking and now it's like I'm gliding and it's easy. I can breath more deeply and don't feel restricted when I breath. My sinuses are more clear. I can walk downhill without feeling like I'm loosing control. I can go deeper in my Yoga poses than I could before. Each session has brought me something of value to healing my body. I can't wait to start up again to see the additional benefits. You can get body work done for less but, in my experience, what you end up getting with Steve, as far as lasting results, more then makes up for any difference in price. Steve is truely a talented and very effective bodyworker. Working with him was the only thing I've done to help my persistantly painful and problematic hip (and some other body problems) that has been long lasting. I've done massage, chiropracting, and acupuncture too. I'd heard that rolfing, his method of bodywork, was painful, and I know everyone is different, but I only found a few instances of brief pain. It was so worth it! He did a series of 10 sessions with me, and I was walking, moving, and feeling so much better than I have in quite a long time. I would reccomend him to anyone. I'm writing this review as a physician first and then as a client of Steve's for nearly 10 years. Meeting him has inspired me to reach on my journey towards wellness. I have a hereditary arthritic condition that could have left me crippled years ago already if it wasn't for what Steve has shown me and encouraged in my own body's ability to self regulate. Steve's work is not a traditional massage, it is a radical rebalancing of the fascial tension in the body such that the body itself reorients to gravity more optimally and frees up compression/subluxation of EVERY joint in the body. From a structural integration, Rolfing standpoint, Steve is among the best. He's gone on to do additional training in biodynamic craniosacral therapy in the last few years from a true master and recently, my body's been anti-aging, becoming lighter, impossibly integrated, and overall in better condition. I started with Steve in 2015 to do The Rolfing Ten Series. I did not have any specific ailments at the time but I was curious about what Rolfing could offer, as I had heard of its many benefits. After the first session, I remember I was taken aback by how different my body felt. Immediately, it was evident that my bones felt more aligned and that it took less effort to stand upright. I felt a great surge in the amount of energy I had available to me. The rest of the Ten Series was just an amazing experience to witness. I had no idea there were so many areas of held tension that was compromising the structure of my body. I have been back to see Steve over the years for when something does feel like it is awry. My most recent issue was that I had bought a new pair of hiking shoes and within one day of hiking, one of my legs felt like it was longer than the other. I hobbled around for a few weeks, tolerating the sense of imbalance before I reached out to Steve. He assessed the issue as a three-series and sure enough within three sessions, my leg and my gait feels completely normal! I've managed severe back pain for 18 years, since my herniated disc. I've also wrecked my body through non-stop travel, sitting for long hours, and largely have had the whole spectrum of problems like - herniated L4/L5, TMJ, severe neck pain, tingling and numbness down my arm and and fingers, sciatica... the works. And I've rotated through many treatments and professionals over the years. One of my most trusted doctors recommended Steve's Rolfing technique to address my TMJ issues (which I'd already sunk thousands of dollars into). My doc has a very discerning eye, so I was immediately interested in trying Rolfing via Steve. I can't believe what a difference these 10 sessions have made! Even within the first few sessions, I couldn't believe how I was holding my body differently. The premise seemed too good to be true, but the impact speaks for itself. The old tingling, numbness, and TMJ issues are largely extinct. I go in for tune-ups, when my body feels out of whack. But an even bigger testament is that it feels like a waste of time and energy to go into other bodywork masseuses/professionals. They do cute rub downs, but it's not precise, it's not productive, it doesn't feel like the same investment as time with Steve. I cannot say enough good things about Steve as a body worker. I've seen him only a few times and my years of back pain is dissapearing. He is a true healer. I first saw Steve in early 2017. I had an injury six years prior that caused me to seek all kinds of treatment for chronic pain in my hips. Each type of therapy got me to a better place but never pain free. I started to hear about Rolfing as I worked with more advanced therapists, and finally someone referred me to Steve. I have been curious about rolfing for years. I have an old sports injury that has negatively affected my back and spine. I have been hesitant to try rolfing because so many people have mentioned that it is painful and I have fibromyalgia and need a lighter touch when it comes to massage. I met Steve at the New Living Expo and told him my story. He assured me that he has worked on people with fibromyalgia before. Well, the next day I came with cash to try him out. Steve was very friendly and we had a comfortable conversation while he worked on me. The pressure was a little uncomfortable, but not at all painful. He told me that he was working at a medium pressure for me. It was a pretty amazing experience! With only 30-minutes of work on me, I got off the table with my shoulders settled lower and more back and my pelvis shifted slightly more forward. Suddenly it was easy for me to stand with the 'correct' posture that had been painful to attempt before. I was also pleased with how long the effects lasted. I was mindful of my posture to try to build good habits back into the way I was holding myself so I'm sure that's a factor. I've been so excited about it that I've told many of my friends. I've even asked, "See how much lower my shoulders are?" I guess it's less obvious to them, but I've felt the difference. I hope to get a full treatment from Steve soon. read more

I've waited almost a year to write a review. I'm just going to describe my session and leave judgement aside. I was first patient of the day. I waited about 15 minutes in a very cold waiting room it was November. He came in on his bike and showed me to our room and asked me to undress. Right here I asked. He nodded yes. No dressing room? So I left my jog top and underwear on. There was no heat in the room and his hands were very cold throughout the session He asked me to stand before him about 3 feet away. No conversation. He asked me to turn around and walk away. Then stand in front while he fiddled with my hips. Then I was asked to lay on the table ...no blanket. He stroked my hip and lower back rather like sliding finger over the skin almost like rubbing something off like if you were rubbing an ink mark off your skin...there was no change in technique the 50 min session. He asked me to walk in front of him again and that was my $200 session. I have been too sick to write a review and don't like to write a negative review but this was the way it went. Not sure what the problem was but felt ver unsatisfied to say the least. read more

Steve really helped me a few years back. I had been struggling for a while in my pilates and yoga practice because I kept felling that my abs weren't holding me up right for certain moves, and it felt very unnatural from one side to another. I didn't really know what was going on, but it was really bothersome. When I went to see Steve, he was really patient and thorough: He educated me about fascia, posture, and put me back in balance. My nervous system (as in my ability to relax during movements and tenseness in my body), aches, and spasm during the moves stopped, and I noticed the change immediately. I felt like I gained 2 inches WITHOUT effort, and for the first time I felt aligned, I couldn't believe it! I thought the body was suppose to naturally fall back into place in life, little did I know that some good bodywork is what the body needs to get back to it's proper and best functioning position. In the past, I only knew of therapies like massage, which was good at reliving tension, but I found unhelpful in any structural changes. I didn't even know structural changes were possible, without surgery or some kind of special reinforced clothing. Now I see how body work can impact me on a far deeper level. Thanks Steve! Oh, plus, he's one of the few Rolfers who will be attentive to your pain level, Rolfing can be uncomfortable at times, but it's really liberating, and he let me have the benefits without the more uncomfortable levels of soreness/tenderness when being put straight=). read more

Rolfing is an amazing healing practice and Steve is a master.  As someone with a preexisting condition that inhibits my natural gate which causes lingering soreness and tightness throughout my body, I have incorporated rolfing along with stretching and exercise to maintain my overall fitness for over 15 years - the last 10 with Steve.  Initial sessions are about realigning balance and working to relieve tension in your body.  It's not for the faint of heart as it can be quite painful, but Steve is very in tune with his patience and works with them to get the most of their sessions.  For me, the value is in the monthly or bimonthly sessions where you work out any minor issues and continue improvement.   Steve is a master at understanding the core physical issues and working through them.  He is very personable and understanding of the changes he can make to the people he works with.  To be clear, Rolfing is not massage -  the sessions are not relaxing.  Just this week I went to see him with some serious knee pain.  After ninety minutes or so, without touching my knee but focusing parts of my body that were misaligned, I walked out tall and ready to hit the gym.  Give him a chance, he is the best. read more

Steve Kraft is a great and the best healer. I fell down some stairs, twisting my ankle badly, and saw Steve for a rolfing session. He made me feel 100 times better and he was able to calm the tremors I had with his amazing hands. Steve is simply the best, like Tina said . . . better than all the rest, better than anyone, anyone I've ever met. One other time in my life, I could not stop shaking was after I had been hit at full-speed by a large male skier. I was taken to the mountain resort clinic by a toboggan by ski patrol after the collision, and I was put on a cold hospital bed as my body shook uncontrollably. Unlike Steve who was able to calm my nerves nearly immediately, the M.D.s instead gave me a steroid which made my condition worse. Steve has a very soothing and calming voice and a very calm demeanor. He does crossfit, so he has extremely strong hands and arms. Steve is an excellent practitioner of Structural Integration. I have had work with many excellent Structural Integration Practitioners and Rolfers over the last four decades and Steve's work ranks right up there with the best of them. He has a highly sensitive touch which is very attuned. Because of this he is not working from a recipe but with you and what your body/self needs in the moment. This is what makes for a very fine practitioner verses a good one. He will never override what is right for you and is highly responsive to feedback. He is able to be respectfully present with you and does not need to fill the quiet with talk, judgment or advise. I've suffered chronic back pain due to scoliosis since puberty.
