Geographic distance does not matter when a dentist is as awesome as Dr. Valdinoto. He does a thorough and gentle job and I always leave his office with a bright smile. Dr. Valdinoto, his receptionist, and his assistants are warm, friendly and welcoming. I always feel like I'm getting personalized care, down to the flavored tooth paste that is used during my cleanings and the pink toothbrush I'm given in my take-home back. I actually look forward to my appointments, because I feel like I'm visiting with four very dear friends. The office, itself is clean, bright, and cheerful, and it's located within walking distance to the Great Neck LIRR station, a lovely park, an excellent diner, and a nice shopping area. I highly recommend Dr. Valdinoto to anyone who is looking for an awesome dentist!

Everything in my previous review still stands, and I continue to be a happy patient, mostly going for my semi-annual check-up and cleanings, as I haven't needed any major dental work done since that time I cracked my tooth and had to get a crown put in. Dr. Bass gives advice on preventative care at each visit, so I'm conscientious about maintaining my dental health. I've never had a bad experience here in all the years, for any sort of work. The fact that it's all held up well so far is a testament to the quality of his work. Dr. Bass is kind, patient, expert, sensible, communicative, with gentle hands and technique so I've never had a painful procedure - he's very mindful of and responsive to your pain reaction. Monica in the office is always lovely, warm, and a pleasure to speak with. Dr. Bass has unanimous all 5-star reviews on Google but I don't use that platform as Yelp is my jam, so I'm singing his praises here. The office is located near Bryant Park, close to all the major subway lines and commuter trains (Grand Central, Penn Station, PATH), so very convenient to get to wherever you're coming from.

It has been wonderful to move on to another dentist who I find much more professional and engaged compared with Josh Wilges. By way of background, I was a patient of Dr. Josh Wilges for several years - until about two years ago when I sought out another dentist because of the profound unprofessionalism with which this practice operates. Let me enumerate the salient problems I encountered: #1 Insurance Issues: I found out from the office during the first week of January 202_ that they would no longer accept my insurance, that they had accepted for the past several years. I could have switched insurances to another provider who they do take had they only informed me a couple of weeks earlier in December of the prior year. I attempted on multiple occasions to phone and email the "manager" Adam (he is actually just Josh Wilges' husband and seems at best minimally competent and does not respond to phone calls) to figure out a resolution or a preferred insurance plan for the future. He would not return calls or emails or provide the necessary information. #2 Dr. Joshua Wilges as a No-Show: For three different appointments, I would book them with "Dr Joshua Wilges," who had been my dentist for several years at the point. When I would show up, Dr. Joshua Wilges was always in Texas not New York and it was a subcontractor providing services; the office would never let me know ahead of time about this "switcheroo" but it was a constant tactic for move than a year form what I heard from other patients and based on my own experiences. As someone who works in medical care, I can say that it is PROFOUNDLY unethical to advertise that you will provide services, while subcontracting out to another provider who is cheaper and collecting a profit. This is dental/medical ethics 101. Please know that if you book an appointment with Dr. Josh Wilges, you will likely never see the man. #3 Names: In medicine and dentistry, naming conventions should be parallel. If Josh Wilges is going to be "Dr. Wilges" then address me as "Mr. H_______." The office staff, however, will repeatedly and resolutely address you only by first name as if you are in kindergarten, while making a huge deal out of you calling Josh "Dr. Wilges" --- this is yet again totally unprofessional. This was at one point an excellent practice. It is not now. Dr. Josh Wilges is totally checked out and you will likely never see him for services you book with him. Furthermore, the manager Adam will refuse to contact you or discuss problems or other issues. Run from this unprofessional, unethical dentist's practice.

They wasted my time, showed zero accountability, and acted like it was somehow my fault for not agreeing to something I was never told about in the first place. If this is how they handle routine cleanings, I wouldn't trust them with anything more serious. They may care more about insurance billing than about actual patient care or informed consent. Avoid this practice unless you enjoy being blindsided and dismissed. NYC has better options--go find one.

This dentist performed nine root canals and a placed nine porcelain fused metal crowns in a patient with autism, the patient went in asking for dental sealant and implants, Pannu recommended 11 root canals and crowns. The doctor also refused to do the implants until his recommended treatment was complete, and after his recommended treatment was completed he abandoned the patient and refused to admit that he had put porcelain fused to metal crowns in the patient even though the patient tried to verify half a dozen times that the right material was used. The patient initially said no to root canals, then Pannu disguise that treatment and recommended nerve treatment with a protective coating. The dentist milk Medicaid for $27,000 fraudulently, and the reason he would not use full ceramic crowns which is what the patient consented to in the end, is because he discriminated against the form of payment which was Medicaid, because he was selling cubic zirconia crowns for $3,000 a tooth. Do not go here, do not take your children here, this man committed intentionally negligent torts putting the patient at risk to line his own pocket while submitting this claim to the government and getting paid after falsifying the x-rays that he sent to the insurance.

After I filled out the paperwork since I was a new patient, I was quickly whisked into a room to be seen. Dr. Strachan listened to everything I had to say and did a very thorough check-up. His technology seems to be very up to date (getting x-rays with him was a breeze). He was not rough and I wasn't in any pain throughout my entire teeth cleaning. He was very professional and had given me tips on things to look out for (I naturally don't have wisdom teeth on my lower jaw and he told me the wisdom teeth, although not impacted, may start to come down over time). I felt like he took a genuine interest in my health and am happy to be his patient!
