I was referred to Stern Cardiovascular by my former primary doctor from BMG due to issues with shortness of breath, discomfort in the chest area, fatigue, cramping and pain in my right leg, etc. On 12/13/2023, I was scheduled for a cardiac catheterization and Dr. Zafarullah stated that it couldn't be done and he recommended a double bypass and said that I should recover quickly because I'm still a young man. The bypass was scheduled for 2/5/24 and released from the hospital on 2/9/24. After going to Baptist ER on 2/10/24 from complications and pain. I was instructed to follow up with my cardiologist. On that next visit to Dr. Zafarullah, I was informed by him that everything was normal and okay. He told me that if I continue to have any more issues to go to Methodist ED. On March 2024, I was informed by my HR department that my insurance had been cancelled, and I had been terminated due to the doctor not informing me how much estimated time I would be off for this procedure. Due to that, it caused my Cardiac Rehab and further testing to be cancelled. On October 17, 2024, I went to Methodist ED with all the same complaints that I had before on 2/10/24. Methodist diagnosed me with heart papulations and PAD and to follow up immediately with my cardiologist. On the next visit Dr. Zafarullah was informed of my visit and results with the Methodist ED doctors and stated that everything was okay and to keep pushing and keep up with my normal routine that he suggested for me. After further issues and reviews, I fill that I have been misdiagnosed and still having the same issues, shortness of breath, discomfort in the chest area, fatigue, cramping and pain in my right leg and now PAD, papulations and now informed on 3/18/26 I was informed from my surgeon doctor that I have an aortic aneurysm and that a test needed to be done to make sure that it hadn't enlarged. Why was I not notified by my cardiologist of this issue. Honestly, I'm really disappointed with Dr. Zafarullah because I feel my concerns and physical issues weren't being addressed properly by his former nurse Jessica and my benefit representative. Now, his new nurse is Karen. I haven't still received any paperwork that I can or cannot return to work, with all my health issues that I'm experiencing. I am no longer a patient with Stern and now, I have a new cardiologist that listened to my issues and they are being addressed now. If anyone values your life and recovery stay away from Dr. Zafarullah and Stern. read more

I specifically want to recognize the diagnostic and imaging staff with this review. On 3/9 I was scheduled for an Echo Cardiograph and nuclear stress test. Each and every staff member I dealt with was professional, friendly, compassionate, patient, and highly skilled. The entire process was timely and very informative. I've taken both of my parents to their appts with Dr Kraus. Wait times can be long, but MD is very straight forward and his nurse (NP) has been available by phone when needed. Great doctor, so/so on the office flow. read more

They are usually very good at being on time, at least at the Collierville location. The Germantown location is terrible about waiting times. The appointment times are just a suggestion for the doctors, not the patients who are held to a time frame. I was there at the Collierville location and waited for 30 minutes in a small waiting room with at least 1 person coughing. There were about 6 people ahead of me and I had a 9:45 appointment. I rescheduled after waiting 30 minutes. Unacceptable today. Giving it another chance next month before I move on to another doctors office. After this next appointment, I may be revising stars up or down. I scheduled the first appointment for the day. Live and learn. read more

Had first appt with a very nice knowledgeable physician and was so pleased with his demeanor and the tests needed to ascertain my condition. Previously I had been dissatisfied by just seeing a nurse practitioner. Not to criticize that profession but it's my heart and I wanted a cardiologist . If you value your health, avoid this place. I spent over 90 days trying to get a heart failure medication authorized--calling weekly, chasing updates, and getting nowhere. After filing a complaint, they fired me as a patient. That's not care, that's retaliation. I've worked in healthcare for 30 years and never seen anything so disgraceful. I liked it here. Dr Armardian was wonderful. The staff was nice to me as well. During this pandemic they wore PPE. Temps taken and questions at the entrance to the building. Hand sanitizer stations placed everywhere. Seating was spaced to practice Social Distancing. The treatment plan was complete and thorough. There is a digital board in the patient rooms with all kind of health info popping up with scannable QR code's, so that I could look up on my phone for more info and to save for later. This will be my cardiovascular Dr. from now on, if anything arises. read more

The doctors at this location are very likely amazing but this office is extremely poorly run. Brought direct to this office from a stress test for my mom to see the doctor early and yet have been sitting here for close to 3 hours without seeing anyone. If it were my personal decision i would see a witch doctor before I came to this location again. Meanwhile the staff are having a birthday party for one of the doctors while my mom hasn't eaten in 3 hours. read more

I was referred there for a checkup as I transitioned to a new doctor. They wanted to do a whole series of tests. I had no symptoms of heart irregularities. I asked "Why are we doing a particular test?" And "How much does it cost?" They would not or could not answer either question. They were just getting into ablation and they talked up how well they could smooth out heart arythmias. No one had examined me and I had no symptoms! It struck me that they had an expensive "hammer" in their equipment and everything and everyone looks like a nail! I said goodbye and will never return. read more

I wanted to change cardiologist too one that was closer to where I lived so I found stern cardiology and doctor Yedaplati. On my first visit without having reviewed my medical records the doctor started to prescribe new medicine. I told the doctor I would be more comfortable if she would review my records before adding additional medicines to my regimen. I waited for some time and Corresponded Thru the portal and was told they were reviewing my records. I finally got tired of waiting and got a little snippy with banners so when I had my next general practitioner visit my Blood Pressure was very low and he told me to call my cardiologist. I called doctor y and she berated me for how I talked to her nurse and was more concerned with that than with my medical Dilemma at the time. the last conversation I had was for me to stop taking all heart medication. She continued to get on to me about my Conversation with her nurse rather than worry about my heart issue that was ongoing. The next message I sent was to apologize to her nurse. after that I was removed from the portal apparently fired from being a patient without being told and now the records that they said they were waiting for they do not have. I would strongly research the Stern group and doctor Yed before ever using these people read more

Awful business. The staff is rude and never calls you back. They lie(intentionally mislead) about the price of the office visit, and then refuse to respond to you to answer questions as to why the bill was over a $1,000 more than you were told it would be. And then, I received ANOTHER bill from ANOTHER hospital because the doctor apparently works for both places? So I had to pay both businesses. For one visit. Find another doctor and stay as far away from this place as possible. read more

I had a good experience here with Dr. Morrow. The staff was friendly, especially the medical assistant, and Dr. Morrow was very down to earth and knowledgeable. She talked to me as a fellow woman who had medical questions instead of the conveyor belt treatment I have received at other medical offices. read more

I have no problem with the medical care I have received at Stern; however, my 1 star review is about the difficulty in getting an appointment. With this group priding itself on being the largest cardiology group in the Memphis area, it is unreal that they have no live persons who man the telephones for appointment scheduling. Instead, one has to leave a call back number and *hope* to actually receive a call back. read more

The Help, is the problem. Never got an appointment. Let's say a Reception name B, called and left message, I return call daily for 3 days, never made contact. This is sad , maybe B was off and no one took over her duties, to follow up with me, to ensure I get and appt. this tells me Stern, Not Concern About My Heart Issue, I felt I would probably get same type of care. read more

Everyone was nice but I gave it two stars because Everytime I come for a visit they always want blood work which is crazy.. EVERY VISIT! Then it doesn't matter what time my appointment is I'm going to be there for a minimum of 3 hours like wow! Also I was talking to one of the workers and she stated she's always the last to leave that is sad. Stern should do better not only for the patients but there employees as well! read more

I highly recommend this group to anyone with Heart problems. I have been a patient of Dr. Eric Johnson's since 2008 and he has always been there when a problem came up. If there is a problem he will do everything possible to fix it and have you feeling better in no time. read more

I have seen Dr. Stacey Smith 3 times in the last 18 months, following my previous Doctor's change of business, and am now on an annual maintenance program, instead of six monthly. She isn't interested in making the extra money off of the insurance or myself, but what treatment is appropriate. Since retirement of my endocrinologist, she has offered to take on the monitoring of my cholesterol, saving me an additional, separate doctor's visit. She is insistent that her team keep to time for appointments. My maximum wait has been only 15 minutes. The whole turn around time for the appointment, being around an hour. Do-able in the lunch hour. She is interested in all aspects of your life, but also does not hang around chatting. Great doctor and time manager. read more

I had an echocardiogram and then CT to get a better look at my dilated aorta. I called multiple times for two days, and they never told me the results of the CT when they knew I was anxious about a trip. A simple "go" or "don't go" would have sufficed. Looking for a new cardio. read more

From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a smile and every person I interacted with was friendly and courteous. When I had to visit the LAB, the stick was nothing, I didn't even feel it. After experiencing service at The Stern Cardiovascular Foundation, I finally realized why everyone believes that Haven is up and Hell is down. When you go to this clinic on the second floor where doctors have their offices, everyone is nice and professional, and their performance is truly Heavenly. However, when you go to the first floor for lab work, most everyone is extremely mean and careless about you or your feeling as a patient. The saddest part is that the doctors and their staff manager admit of their problem and know these individuals, but they do not seem as a concern to them. I went for my stress test, during Jan 2018 and there was a team of a white man and a black woman. I really have a hard time to say which one was meaner. I have done this test and countless of another test before but never was subject to such arrogance and unnecessarily pain. Despite my constant complaint and unjust severe pain that they induced me to, they simply act as if I was not even there, to the point that I almost passed out from the pain. It was then by the act of God and help of one of their nice young associate where I received some comforts. The next time that I need to do any test for this clinic, I will either find a different clinic or travel out of town, if I have to, just to bypass this facility altogether. read more

This was the worst experience I have ever had with a healthcare facility! They booked me an appt with their office the morning of for a stress test due to the fact that I had a visit to the ER and was referred to them! When I was called about appt I informed them I was still having chest discomfort!! I traveled one hour and fifteen minutes to get there. They informed me they could not do test because I was still having pain! They said I had to see doctor first!! After waiting for an hour and a half I was informed I had to wait additional hour!! Ridiculous!! Will go elsewhere, where my money and time is valuable!! read more

I have been seeing Dr. Russo for 20+ years. He is an excellent doctor with a wonderful bedside manner. His dedication to his patients is 100%. I would highly suggest when you visit Stern, be sure to get all your meds because to get a refill is the worst experience possible. Luckily, Stern has a department that handles your refills if the medication is on your most recent chart. If not, then just be forewarned. His nurse, Tiffany is rude and hateful. She is who you speak with about refills and she is the most unprofessional nurse. I just called to get a refill on my Nexium prescription that had expired. I was transferred to the refill department, who transferred me back to Tiffany. I begged the refill department to explain to her the prescription had expired. I was told she would not answer the phone for them. I called and she answered, but told me she was too busy to deal with me or my problems. Now, I would like to tell Dr. Russo myself, and I will on my next visit which should be soon. Stern is a class A cardiology clinic. It is a disgrace that one hateful person can destroy years of hard work establishing an exemplary reputation with her bad attitude. She is so hateful, even her co-workers cannot speak with her. I would hate to cause her to lose her job, but every time I have ever spoken with her, the experience has been the same. I will continue to see Dr. William Russo until I die, but he WILL KNOW ABOUT THIS EMPLOYEE. read more

my first visit, ten years ago, would have garnered 3 stars, only b/c the cardiologist kept cancelling follow up appts. this time around everything was tickity boo. from the tech who did the initial screening to the nurse who followed up to dr. Stacey smith. I was scheduled for a stress test and carotid artery test. all went well. everyone I came in contact with was just terrific, professional, but relaxed; they laughed at my jokes. follow up call the next week confirmed that all was well. highly recommended. 2 heart caths was ordered 1 year apart ,,first one shown 50 percent blockage,nothing was done,,my chest pain got worse,,,was told it was something differrent than my heart,,than 1 year later another heart cath ,,,showed a 70 percent blockage and a 90 percentblockage,,still nothing done,,sterns doc said nothing he could do while in my heart,,still have never heard anything from stern,,Stern is to over worked to do anyone any good,,, read more
