If I could give 0 stars I would. Program is run by mostly ex addicts who print out NA, CA, or AA material and read from it (could get same treatment free at a meeting). One staff member assaulted me twice, sent hooker pamphlet to another staff accidentally, walked into woman's rooms without knocking, and finally drove customers whilst intoxicated to the facility before being fired. Everybody complained about him but staff didn't care until he drove people whilst intoxicated and refused a drug test. Drug testing is a joke. I was singled out for drug testing. Multiple people I spoke with said they haven't been tested for weeks but I was every week and multiple times some weeks. Many people there have entered or are in psychosis. One female entering psychosis and refusing to take meds. Staff was aware of her but kept her there for days as she spiraled yelling at staff, annoying customers, and causing havoc throughout the entire facility. Also facility is barely cleaned with trash remaining on floor for days. The microwave also doesn't work so good luck heating food. Staff is also uncoordinated as was told by counselor to go into big room, then by Steve to go back, and then finally by my counselor to go back to big room. If you want to go to the gym it probably will never happen. I was told multiple people need to ask in order to go so I never ended up going. Had to pay for a gym membership plus Ubers back and forth. Staff sometimes helped with rides but was often turned down because most are extremely lazy and unhelpful. You'll also have boatloads of ego trips by staff who have nothing better to do with their time. Group therapy is a joke as people barely talk to one another. People there are also super judgmental and enjoy gossiping about one another since there is nothing else to do. Individual therapy becomes burdensome quick as you run out of things to talk about after a couple sessions. They also play movies instead of treatment, often the same movie over and over. I have seen flight with Denzel Washington a total of 3-4 times. When I told Steve we had already watched it, he replied "I will get to see it again" sarcastically. If you haven't met Steve once you get to know him you'll realize he's a narcissist with some psychopathic traits. He once told a bus full of people "everyone is awful". One guy called him out and he laughed it off, as a narcissist would do. Housing is the worst part. I was stuck with a bunch of old people. One that was gay and should have been in LGBTQ house. Half of people in my house weren't even in the program. My bedroom was freezing and the curtains were cut (as shown in pictures). The basement stairs are steep and someone fell down them causing a visit to the ICU for a week. The upstairs bathroom reeked so I used the downstairs one which was filled with black mold (as shown in photos). They also force you to go to 4 meetings a week if in PHP program even though it's 6 hours a day, 6 days a week which is enough treatment already. You'll also face ego trips by manic people at housing. Mostly older guys who don't want to do anything with their lives but sit around and bully others. Keep in mind house is also run by these people as staff don't want to do anything. Was singled out multiple times at a house meeting for "using too many paper towels" by someone not even in program who was leaving. You'll also be asked to pick up after other people and do their chores. You are also only given $25 for food in a week which is unlivable. Food orders are also improperly handled as you end up with wrong items or don't get what you ordered. Last but not least the house ran out of paper towels and was about to run out of toilet paper before I left. And as mentioned above I was blamed for it for no reason. Essentially a bunch of people who aren't in program anymore force others around at house and create drama for no reason. If you want the same treatment for $0 and without all the hassle just stop whatever your doing and get to some NA/CA/ or AA meetings a few times a week. read more

Treatment is a joke they just print out documents from NA/ CA/ or AA meetings and read them while asking stupid questions they force you to answer. Staff is mostly ex drug addicts. One physically assaulted me twice but he wasn't fired then. It only took him sending hooker pamphlets to staff, walking into woman's doors whilst changing, being reported by dozens of clients, and finally driving under the influence and almost hitting construction workers to be fired. Would NOT recommend housing either as you are with mostly mentally ill people that have messed up brain via hard drug usage. You'll be forced to do chores and clean up after others. Houses also are supposed to be run by STR but are actually run by the people living there. You'll face multiple power trips from multiple people. Especially older guys who aren't even in program and have nothing better to do. If I didn't mention yet they allow people to stay for months after leaving program, so it's essentially a sober home not an STR home. Room I stayed in was freezing and the window was missing panels so I could barely sleep. The upstairs shower at NOV reeks so I used downstairs one but I discovered black mold growing a few weeks in. I developed headaches and a cough from this. If you don't smoke also be prepared to be around smokers 24/7 that reek of cigarettes and also blow smoke in face. You're also only given $25 a week for food which is unlivable. Food orders typically messed up as well so good luck getting all $25 worth. I purchased my own food but it was stolen several times by people living there. A lot of people in house have no $ since they spent it all on drugs, and enjoy using their last brain cells to steal other peoples food. Facility is also never cleaned. Microwave is broken and place is generally dirty. Staff are mostly brain dead and only enjoy going on ego trips or telling you to take UA. I was the only person who had to take one weekly or multiple times a week for the lightest substance possible. Every hard drug addict only had to take them every few weeks. So staff also is very biased about who they abuse. There are also some narcissistic staff members such as Steve who once told me "everybody is evil". When a client told him he was wrong he just laughed it off. They also play movies on repeat. When I asked Steve to play a different one he just told me "you'll get to see it again" and laughed. Steve thinks he's a 20 year old due to his decades of drug usage and has developed a narcissistic personality with some psychotic traits. Clients range from people trying to get out of DUI all the way up to fully manic hardcore drug addicts. One female went into psychosis; refusing to take antipsychotic meds prescribed. Staff knew and kept here there for days letting her scream at them, annoy clients, and cause chaos. Multiple other people there have psychotic traits from years of chronic hard drug use. Overall if you want treatment just do it yourself. If you're a hard drug addict the chances of recovery are low depending on substance, so there's some hope but not a lot. Most people in the program are chronic relapsers and I don't think they'll ever stop. However if you are an alcoholic or addicted to a lighter substance that doesn't damage brain I would just go to local meetings and face the problem head on rather than have a bunch of egotistical narcissist tell you what to do for weeks in a filthy program and house. read more

Steps to recovery has a great program. I have never been to a treatment program where the staff actually cares about the clients like family. They get to know you and help cater to each person's needs individually. Your more then just a number. At str your life matters and it's not just about the money like other places. The owner and everyone on the team tries their best to get to know everybody. Str has become my family. I owe my life to them. I have been struggling with addiction for years and have never been serious about getting help untill I entered this facility, and now I want nothing more. They gave my my life back and if you know someone struggling with addiction hopefully they will give it a chance here at steps to recovery and they can help save their life aswell. read more

I just celebrated a personal milestone in my recovery and I would not be saying this if it wasn't for the team at Steps to Recovery. I went there not really wanting treatment because of the places I have been before but my mother and sister convinced me. The first weeks were tough. I hurt a lot. They gave me a safe place where I was able to really open up about my addiction and the pain I have suffered for years. Even when I wasn't that nice they never gave up on me. :) I had to work hard but I still feel that if I can do this (I've been to 3 prior treatment facilities and relapsed shortly after each one) then anyone can. I am currently embracing recovery and working full time. So happy!! Thank you! read more

Steps to Recovery saved my life. I am so grateful for everything they did for me. Almost every StR employee from this amazing facility can understand drug and alcohol addiction first hand from their own experiences with addiction and recovery. All of their centers are beautiful and top notch. They give the up most best care to every client and I can't even begin to thank them enough for teaching me how to live a normal life. If anyone is suffering from addiction I highly recommend steps to recovery. They will go above and beyond for each individual addict and save your life. read more

There are other better options out there. This place is run by a group of uneducated people who only want your money. All drug abuse is not the same. Taking someone who is abusing alcohol to a narcotics anonymous meeting and saying all drugs are the same only to save money is unethical. They say that they will personalize treatment it is a lie. They have a residential house in Levittown which is not far from their office they claim it is for all age groups - we found mostly people in their 20's. read more

After going to 14 rehabs 23 detox centers I've never met a staff that's cares more about there clients then Steps to recovery did. I was greeted with open arms at the door by all the staff. My clinician Manny Junior showed support in my decision to tryin to get help and genially cared about my well being. StR is the greatest addiction treatment center that I've ever placed myself into. Admissions were nothin but nice and caring towards me and my needs for trying to get clean. When arriving to StR I was greeted by a ladie named Lauren in admisssions who was so welcoming and made me feel comfortable coming into my first treatment center. read more
