With all of the field hockey I've watched over the past six years you'd think all of the fields and…read morevenues would all just get jumbled in my head..but that's not the case and I tend to remember them all pretty well-the good and the bad. This review is for the venue during this camp only...it's run by outside people who are very good a running these camps and has nothing to do with the programming offered by Superdome. So, for the second year in a row my daughter had a weekend college showcase camp at Superdome and both years we've had a great time. The flow for 160+ kids and many of their parents is tight since there is one revolving door between the lobby and the playing surface, but we made it work. The surface itself is sport turf and not an AstroTurf type field (preferred by field hockey players), but it makes sense for such a multi-use facility. They also keep the temperature in the playing area cold enough to freeze meat so if you are watching and not playing bring a jacket or blanket. The lobby and meeting rooms are fine, but could use a little more air flow...chairs could use an upgrade for those of us whose butts are a little older. The food here is a little pricey, but the counter people seem nice and moved people through quickly. People tend to eat and then loiter at their tables so be prepared to ask someone to sit with them. Parking was no problem here either. I don't know what the place is like for their own programming, but for this event it's perfectly acceptable. I'd be happy to come here again, but I hope by this time next year there's no reason to return.

Superdome Sports in Waldwick has AWFUL customer service. I emailed them to see if I could register…read moremy child for a clinic. They responded it wouldn't be a problem. I registered and paid for the clinic immediately. When I showed up for the first day, they first told me we were late and that I had the wrong time. When I showed them my invoice and their website they then said I couldn't have registered for that clinic because it doesn't exist. It is STILL on the website. They are refusing to refund me. They refuse to admit their mistake. They never informed me of any potential changes or that what I had paid for would not be offered. They took my money and did not provide the service that I paid for. Everyone should avoid this place for their shady business practices.

All my questions and concerns have been addressed almost immediately, via email or phone call. My youngest has several food allergies, severe (anaphylaxis) the staff is fully trained, they are an inclusive camp, meaning she can eat and participate in EVERY activity. This is extremely important for any kid of any age, to feel included and part of everything and something. I highly highly recommend this. Thank you to Camp Wekeela for making this a truly memorable summer for my girls. They will be back next year!

I used to have really bad experiences at camps, but when I went to Wekeela, that all changed. Wekeela also is great because you can extend your time there easily, and if you hate it (which I really doubt you will) you will probably be allowed to un-extend. Last summer I went to camp for four weeks, and even in my second year I was still making friends and looking forward to meeting new people! I can't say enough good things about Wekeela. On the last day I was crying my eyes out from dinner to the end of campfire and after camp ended every night I facetimed my friends and became extremely camp sick. I love camp so much that I am going for seven weeks next summer; and considering my past experiences with camps, that's a big deal. If you want a carefree, fun, socialized summer, come to camp Wekeela. Trust me.

Our son attended The Little School of Waldwick from the ages of 2 to 5, and we couldn't be more…read moregrateful for the experience. During his time there, he grew tremendously--socially, emotionally, and academically. We found The Little School after making the difficult decision to withdraw him from another local preschool that wasn't providing the extra TLC he needed. From our very first meeting with the owner, Maria, we knew this was something special. It wasn't just a daycare--it was a true home away from home. The love, patience, and individualized care our son received allowed him to thrive in ways we had hoped for. The nurturing environment and genuine dedication of the staff gave him the confidence to grow, learn, and develop a true love of school. If you're looking for a place where your child will not only be safe and receive an excellent early education, but also be loved and cared for like family, look no further than The Little School of Waldwick. We wholeheartedly recommend it to any family seeking a warm, supportive, and enriching environment for their child.

Maria (who runs the center) just flat out cares. She is incredibly thorough in how she and her team look over the kids. She doesn't look at this as "babysitting", she looks at this as a proper school. She highly emphasizes education and constant broadening of the childrens' horizons, and she knows all of the kids in the school very well. Even more, as our son was starting their program she actively encouraged us to stop by with him after hours multiple times, to acclimate him to the environment before starting up. She did everything she could to make sure our child had the smoothest startup possible, and as a result he adjusted really quickly all things considered. I cannot recommend this school enough, it has been an entirely positive experience and I feel my child is being cared for so much more than at some of the local franchised daycares we visited. (Also regarding cost, interestingly they're on the better value side of tuition rates for the area)

He said they went into detail on how to draw the figures by learning body parts and skeletal system and muscles etc. It went from an art class to science class somewhat but he totally appreciated it! Not yet a 55 location phenomenon like its musical counterpart, One River is a growing franchise on the East Coast. The modern and upscale facility in Allendale offers a variety of children's, tween, teen and adult art classes that are taught by a young and hip faculty. The staff is helpful and informative. Our tween enjoyed the digital art classes he tried and the "teen shuffle" class he now enjoys -- which teaches in multiple media and fairly large groups. That said, I'm not sure the curriculum is on the same level as some traditional art schools we've experienced in the past -- that are usually focused on more one on one training. However the large number of choices, an energetic faculty and flexibility to switch between programs and instructors on short notice is a plus. This place is pricey but classes are about market for the area and the service offered. Depending on your expectations and the skill set you bring to the program -- One River might be a good choice. Top Tip: Take a trial class or two before you commit. The rolling admissions policy requires that you commit for at least 4 classes in a 30 day period -- and that you give a 30 days notice of cancellation.
