Just as another parent on here wrote in their review, "the owner takes any feedback as you bullying her". I couldn't agree more. Yelp was established to be a safe place for open, fair, and free speech, without fear of retribution from business owners for telling the truth. I'm not sure someone this volatile should be in the child care business. And any business owner, in any line of work, trying to "shut up" anyone who dares to give a negative review shouldn't be in business, period.

Also make sure you get all of your paperwork in the beginning because after you've attended for a while and then she pops up with a $275 admin fee and oh yes you have to pay for a vacation that she takes yearly, while you still have to pay for your child to be taken care of by someone else while she's on vacation! Definitely question her about who is watching your child because she will tell you about all these incidents that have been happening after the fact not when they actually have happened again who is watching your child for these ongoing incidents to happen? How are you to correct the behavior if the provider never tells you that it actually is happening? She will tell you she has pictures of these incidents - hmmm you have time to take pictures instead of correcting the behavior ‍ Overall I wouldn't recommend her definitely doesn't have experience with special needs as she states doesn't help with potty training.

My husband and I appreciated the individualized attention to each of my children's different learning styles and personalities. The school makes homemade, hot lunches and snacks for the children. We've experienced two classrooms and loved them both equally. One of the things we appreciate most is how much time the kids get to spend outdoors, exploring and learning in the beautiful natural setting the school provides. From nature walks and the children's garden to discovering bugs and lizards, the environment fosters curiosity, independence, and hands-on learning. The school places a strong emphasis on social-emotional growth, which we value deeply. In the Butterfly Room, Ms. Hilda and Ms. Noemi create an environment that encourages problem-solving, critical thinking, and curiosity. They guide children with thoughtful questions, nurture resourcefulness, and celebrate diversity, all while helping kids develop a love for nature and the earth. In the Sunshine Room, Ms. Judy and Ms. Jessi are a dynamic, nurturing pair who bring fun, creativity, and compassion to every day. Through singing, dancing, and play, they spark imagination and help the younger children begin forming their first friendships in a safe and joyful environment. We saw our daughter's independent and creative play truly flourish during her time in this class, and it was wonderful to watch her confidence and imagination grow. We often say we wish school could always be like this for our kids. Anne Sullivan has given them a wonderful first classroom experience and instilled in them a genuine love for learning. The entire staff is warm, welcoming, and truly caring toward both the children and their families. We couldn't recommend this preschool more highly--it's truly a gem.

I've watched my kids blossom here in ways that truly amaze me. They go above and beyond, from serving healthy snacks and lunch to helping both of my twins through potty training (which was such a blessing!). The small class size with three teachers makes such a difference, every child is truly seen, heard, and nurtured. One of my favorite parts is getting photos and videos throughout the day. It makes me feel connected and reassured, and I love being able to see the joy on my kids' faces while they learn and play. This school has been such a gift for our family, and I'm beyond grateful for the incredible care and love they give every single day. From the…read moremoment she started, it's been clear that this is more than just a preschool, it's a nurturing, supportive community that truly sees and celebrates each child for who they are. Our daughter has grown so much emotionally and developmentally since attending, and we credit so much of that to the warm, intentional environment the staff has created. She was incredibly shy and the first couple weeks were tough getting her used to the drop offs (she had been solely at home with me for the first 2.5 years of her life) but Ms Nichole was so patient and helped us slowly ease into everything and met my daughter where she was at. Now my daughter gets excited to go to school! Ms Nichole and Ms April and Ms Crystal go above and beyond not only to support the children, but to make families feel welcomed and cared for as well. We feel that our daughter is genuinely known and loved here for who she is and that's a gift beyond words. As parents, especially with a new baby at home, it's such a comfort knowing our daughter is in a place where she's safe, thriving, and surrounded by people who truly care. We were new to the area and Ms Nichole has gone and above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and supported and cared for, not only with our move but welcoming a new little one recently. We're so thankful to be part of the TLLC family!

One thing I appreciate most is how welcoming and friendly the staff is overall. I've had a lot of interaction with Miss Michelle, the director, and she's always warm and present. She greets families in the morning, says goodbye at the end of the day, and genuinely interacts with the children. The kids love her, especially when she brings out fun little toys or prizes at pickup time. It creates such a positive environment. Miss R is also incredibly kind and bubbly. She's one of the first people you see in the morning and one of the last people you speak to before leaving, and it's always nice having someone so pleasant to chat with. I don't get a ton of face-to-face time with my children's teachers during drop-off & pick up because they're usually already inside the classrooms, but my kids absolutely adore them. They constantly come home talking about their teachers in such a positive way. I'll hear things like, "Miss Sandra helped me with this," or "Miss Sandra helped me solve a problem today." Hearing those stories makes me feel very comfortable and safe leaving my children there because I know they're being cared for with patience and kindness. I also appreciate how clean the school is. One thing I personally love is that they don't use sand in the play areas. As a parent of young children with textured hair, not having to wash sand out every single day is honestly a huge plus. The school uses a digital app to keep parents updated throughout the day. While I do wish the app was a little more detailed, it still gives me a good idea of my children's daily routine, like meal times, naps, and activities. Another thing I really appreciate is that all of my children's schoolwork comes home weekly. It allows me to actually see their progress; whether it's coloring, writing letters, or other developmental skills and helps me understand where I can continue helping them at home. Each classroom also has a monthly itinerary explaining what the children will be learning and focusing on. Whether it's science, math, or another subject, it's always very clear. I love that because it helps me stay involved and continue reinforcing those lessons at home. I also think it's really sweet how the school celebrates holidays and includes parents in activities. Things like making Mother's Day or Father's Day crafts, writing letters to Santa, or doing art projects together create really special memories for families. Overall, Children's Lighthouse has felt clean, safe, friendly, and structured. Most importantly, my kids are happy there and are genuinely learning, and that gives me a lot of peace as a parent.
