For my 11 month old Golden Retriever to get her second grooming appointment, I brought her to Stephan's Tailwaggers on my neighbors recommendation. I wasn't disappointed at all. When I arrived, the receptionist greeted her as much as me. She was so warm and inviting that my dog (who had just been shivering scared in the car just minutes prior) actually started to walk in the back on her own, almost. Less than two hours later, they called and said she was ready. When I picked her up she didn't seem traumatized. She was happy, fluffy and trimmed where I mostly wanted- her ears and feet. I'm fact, I was surprised how small her feet are without all the extra hair. Also, it was $70! She's about 55- 60lbs. A note on the door stated that if you pick up dog more than an hour after getting the call that your dog is ready, you will be charged $20 per additional hour. I imagine that could be issue with people working or trying to get errands or kids managed. I didn't think to ask the name of her groomer. I did notice that there were 4 grooming stations. They commented that today was a slow day but I imagine it can get pretty loud and busy. read more

My dog always comes back fresh, clean, and smelling good! This is my designated location for my dog's haircut!

Just picked up my dogs from this groomer. I usually take them to Petsmart but this place is closer. I picked yellow lab and cockapoo and they were shaved but smelled horrible! They smelled worse than when I dropped them off! I called at 2:40pm . No answer . It says they close at 3pm. I emailed the store. Let's see what happens . Based on the reviews on here , nothing will be done to correct this as it seems from past reviews that the owner is not very friendly or professional when it comes to this place. I won't be back .. i much rather drive further and know that my dogs are clean and not smelling like garbage when I pick them up. I mentioned something about the horrible smell when I walked in but was pretty much ignored . Still no call back and it's 3pm . They only had one dog left when I picked mine up. They probably left early. I'm not happy at all! Update: it's interesting that when I take Murphy to Petsmart he comes back smelling fresh and clean.. don't justify your bad Work by telling me my dog had a bad odor .. he now has been home and the odor he picked up from your establishment is gone because I gave him a bath myself ( he is over 100lbs not an easy task). As for the smell.. I mentioned it BEFORE I dropped he dogs off not after . Do not put words in my mouth. And you stating that u don't clean as you go makes it seem you have everybody that drops their dog off in an unclean environment .. I certainly do not want my dog in that kind place. Instead on placing blame as a business owner you should have apologized and perhaps offered a free cleaning . I may have considered it but now you lost my business and many others . I took my dogs for years to Stephanie for grooming at Tailwaggers when it was owned by another individual. Thankfully Stephanie remained and is still our favorite. She is a hard worker, very willing to accommodate, trustworthy, gives advice and handles dogs with confidence. Her business is comprised of caring individuals who do a great job. read more

I was in a panic to get my recently skunked pups cleaned up and the team at Steph's were up for the challenge! I picked our guys up and they smelled like innocent dogs and not trouble makers. I've been taking my Westie, Scruffy, to Tailwaggers since he was a puppy. He is almost 12 now! Even after moving, I still make the 30 min. drive because I wouldn't take him anywhere else. Scruffy always comes out of there looking like a show dog!! He seems happy and well-cared for, too. read more

I brought my golden doodle here to be groomed around thanksgiving for the first time. She does not like going to the groomer, but she has gone ever since she was a puppy. I explained all of this to them beforehand and they told me they were used to it and able to handle it. I received a call within 90 mins to come pick her up because she was too much to handle and that they were so busy for the holidays. They said she was very fearful of getting her paws cut and the groomers had cut themselves twice. I went to pick her up and she was half groomed. They didn't charge me for the visit which is why I even give one star. My dog was also super timid for several hours after the appointment. So she was distressed and half groomed. I have never heard these "complaints" about her from the two other groomers she has been to, and I have never seen her so upset after going. My impression is they did not give her the time and attention she needed and were too consumed with their holiday schedule. I will never take either of my dogs here, and I have already started telling people in my community to not take their dogs here. read more

We brought our dog here since he was a puppy. Once new ownership happened is when we had a problem. We brought our 11 year old shih tzu in to get his regular grooming. A couple of hours after dropping him off, we get a call from Stephanie saying he was too difficult to groom. When we picked him up, he was half groomed and didn't smell like he'd been washed. Stephanie made it clear that she didn't want him back. She didn't charge us, but insulted our dog by referring to him as old and feeble. So we've be bringing him somewhere else, which by the way the new groomer had no problems while grooming him. We never had problems when Kathy was the owner of this place. Would not recommend tail waggers. read more

I have two dogs, one that needs a hair cut about every 6 weeks and my other dog just needs a bath and nail trim. I am always able to call and get a quick appointment for my dogs. They are usually done within a few hours, which is nice because they don't have to stay there all day. read more

Do not take your pup here!!!! We've been taking our Standard Poodle here for years. He always has the same cut and hasn't been a problem. Today when picking him up, Stephanie told me she increased the price because he was "difficult" today. And, they just shaved his body and tail (NOT his style) without calling us prior!!! Like most other groomers you have to be specific on how much you want cut -- ask what their normal levels of cuts are -- but once you clarify that with them they are great! My golden retriever LOVES to go to the groomers now! She always smells great and her coat is clean and shiny. One hint -- they do get really busy sometimes though with lots of little dogs that bark a lot so if you can pick up your dog right away when they are ready you should just to avoid the stress! read more

Recently took our two Malti-poos in for haircuts - they went in with "puppy cuts" and came out shaved like poodles! Why anyone would give a dog a completely different look than what they came in with is beyond me! Their once fluffy little faces are now shaved down to nothing and they came back to me unrecognizable. I have been asked by several people if I had gotten new dogs, others that know us better have laughed uncontrollably upon seeing this butcher job. I am extremely upset by this, would not recommend this place to anyone! read more

It's unfortunate that it came to his type of online review, however after what happened yesterday to my 7 year old Shih Tzu I do not recommend for anyone to continue to support this business, or trust leaving your dog there to get groomed SAFELY! A typical drop off at Tail Wagger's ended up a nightmare for my baby, and emotional wreck for myself and my family involved when I get a call within the first hour of him being there saying I need to come back to take him to the emergency vet. What angered me the most is instead of Stephanie (the owner who always grooms him) calling with concern and care, and a straight to the point conversation she wanted to be long winded beating around the bush of what the REAL emergency was which led me to be in panic having to be direct asking "DID YOU CUT HIM? IS HE BLEEDING?" to hear her answer YES. I drove so fast back to the Tail Waggers being very angry and upset! Instead of Stephanie being a true woman about the situation with compassion and empathy to want to right her wrong, or sincerely apologize she was more concerned about me yelling and being irate. Yes they were proactive on arranging for his medical treatment to be paid, but to me that wasn't the point. The point is I DROPPED MY DOG OFF TO GET GROOMED NOT TO END UP STRESSED OUT PANTING, BLEEDING, AND IN PAIN! I could not stop crying all day yesterday. My dog ended up having to get 10 staples in the inside part of his ear, on meds, and has to wear that uncomfortable head cone which he hates. By the grace of God the doctor said it won't affect his hearing, but my Shih Tzu is the sweetest, and definitely did not deserve to be injured. Not sure why SHARP OBJECTS are being used inside of dog's ears anyways! I told her in argument we won't be back...Stephanie rudely said "Good!" Support this place at your own risk!
