What came after was worse. They owed a refund. They said it would be ACH. They said it could take up to 30 days. I told them that timeline was a problem because it was delaying her follow-up care. I told them a check was not a viable option because we are traveling RV'ers. I said that more than once. Clear. Repeated. Not ambiguous. They cut a check and did not inform me. That is not a mix-up. That is the office doing the one thing I already said would not work, after I asked them to expedite an electronic refund so a 15-year-old was not stuck waiting in discomfort on their accounting department.

The people don't care about the patients. You will never get in for a cleaning either. They will give you an appointment 6mo out, then call the week before to reschedule for 6mo out over and over. They called and canceled multiple appointments I had scheduled due to never having anyone in the office able to perform a deep clean. This happened at least 4-5 times! Well because of the deep cleaning that took so long to finally have done they ruined a part of my gums. During the actual process of them removing the tartar from my teeth, tartar was pushed down further into my gums which over time irritated my gums and caused infection. This eventually lead to my gums receding and now I have to get a skin graft to fix the area that was damaged. I would not recommend this dentist to anyone as I feel like they really don't care about the patients and more about what benefits them.

He is so kind, patient, friendly so positive and is always genuinely happy to see you. He is extremely knowledgeable and always takes the time to educate you, and explain where your teeth are in the journey. He has the biggest heart and truly wants all of his patients to be successful in their orthodontic journey. Dr. Peterson is also a perfectionist when it comes to the end result of your orthodontic journey. He wants your teeth to be perfect, and in my experience good enough wasn't good enough...they had to be perfect. I love all the little extra thoughtful touches that his office provides you like Chapstick, chew sticks (which help lock Invisalign in place) and they even send you a birthday card with a free coffee coupon. Dr. Peterson and his office staff go above and beyond and if you are searching for the best Orthodontist in Douglas County, look no further. I would highly recommend Current Orthodontics

Palate expansion and braces have helped reduce mouth breathing and oral sensitivity, and correct misalignment. My son initially had a severe gag reflex, and they were compassionate and creative in their responsiveness and ability to find ways to continue providing care. Every step of the experience there has been positive! The front desk staff is warm, welcoming, and so accommodating, and the waiting room is comfortable and has toys and books to entertain my other kids. The assistants are friendly, knowledgeable, and somehow create a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere even when every chair in the office is filled and i know they've been booked solid all day, we're running late, my 4 year old is dysregulated, and my 10 year old is gagging and throwing up on them. That last part only happened once and then they skillfully pivoted and have provided alternate options for impressions, etc., since then. Dr. Ward takes the time to listen not just to me, but to my son, and to work together on treatment planning. It is clear that he is a parent in the way that he is unphased by developmentally appropriate behavior that some adults find difficult - hyper kids, unresponsive shy kids, super sensitive kids, etc. He takes everything in stride and seems to really care that each patient is comfortable and has the best outcome. He's also been conservative in his approach, not over treating and waiting for necessary development to occur before each next step of treatment. My son has been really motivated to earn coins, and stayed committed to his oral hygiene as a result, despite tooth brushing having been a struggle for him previously. We are so grateful to all the providers and staff at Ward Family Orthodontics!

My teeth turned out beautiful and it was always a joy to come to the appointments as the entire staff are friendly and good at keeping busy adults and kids on schedule without drama. I later sent my daughter to Dr. Thorton for braces and to fix a tooth that was stuck in the wrong position. She is now 16 with a fantastic smile. She was always happy with her treatment. We have one more teen who will need some minor treatment soon. I wouldn't consider anyone else. Kids who attend Roosevelt and South can easily walk to appointments after school.
