Care Plus..... oh how low medical care has stooped…read more..... I've visited Care Plus twice, and I have to say that the last time will be the last time. I think I would rather self-treat for whatever unfortunately illness or accident I manage to find myself in. I only went here when my primary physician was unavailable. He moved about 2 years ago, and I haven't been able to find a decent general practitioner since. The first time I was at Care Plus, it was for an unfortunate lawn mowing accident that left scissors through my hand. The wait time (15 minutes) for this was okay given my injury, and the treatment was decent. I had a female doctor I had was relatively knowledgeable, and personable. I can't remember her name for the life of me. They washed out my wound, patched me up, and I was on my way. My complaint with about Care Plus at the time was that they would not file with my secondary insurance. Not a huge ordeal, but filing with the any insurance can be a pain in the butt. Gotta download the form, print the form, look up random numbers, make sure you have diagnosis codes, and so on. It would have been easier if the staff could do that for me. I like filing forms with insurance like I like filing out tax forms. The second time I came here was in the Summer of 2008, I had an urgent case. I had to wait 3 hours. I was so fed up, I decided to just lay in the middle of the hall of the physician's center. Apparently, that doesn't do much good either. Medical services here are the pits. I finally got in 3 hours later, and Dr. Roquet started treating me like a child. I may not have an MD, but I've worked in the medical field long enough to know what was up. He kept trying to diagnosis my symptom, incorrectly at that, instead of finding the root cause. He started to say that I had a condition that I obviously didn't have. You can't wake up one day with a chronic illness. Several times, I felt like saying "@&#(%@! Let me help you with your job. Apparently, you aren't very good at it." Twice during the visit, his cell phone went off, and he had the audacity to leave the room and answer it. He would come back 10 minutes later and say something like, "It's part of the job." I wanted to snap back, "You are at your job!" Did he really think I was that gullible that he had to answer his cell about work, when he was clearly at work? It was very apparent that it was a personal call from his wife. To make a long story short, I felt like I was being talked down to the entire visit. The wait was entirely too long. The physician was incapable of higher thinking skills. The doctor had no social skills, and he rudely accepted personal calls when I was on my death bed. I hate this place. This place sucks. The facility is cramped. The equipment is old and dated. I would only go back if this was the last medical center in Texas. Wait, I take that back. I would rather pop a few pain killers and patch myself up. I could probably do a better job of open heart surgery than this place.

I have used care plus for over 20+ years as both an urgent care facility and as a family medicine…read morecenter. The wait is a little long but you do get to walk in with out an appointment and when you factor in that most docs make you wait anyhow, it evens out. Dr Roquet is very kind and listens to each patient. He has stitched us up and taken care of each member of my family. I would rather wait for him than deal with the ers in town. As someone with chronic health issues, I appreciate he sees each person's problem as an individual. He also is one of the few docs who still believe in pain management. Curious as someone who is "dying" is going to an urgent care facility. That is why they have ers. I think an office visit runs 90 bucks which is about half the price of other drs office visits.
