Visited Dr. Kongs for the first time after injuring my neck pretty badly. It was tight for an entire week before I found him. Had gone to another kind of practitioner and it hadn't helped much. Hadn't been to a chiropractor in around 30 years and I wanted someone who did it the old fashioned way. Network chiropractic and other forms designed to be gentle just don't do much for me. I've had good experiences with the kind of chiropractic where you can hear your bones crack. My only concern was that I had been a lot younger then, so I didn't know if it would be equally effective now. But I was in a lot of pain and figured I had more to gain than to lose by trying.
Dr. Kongs is a good old fashioned chiropractor. He knows what he's doing. Cracked me just four times. Each adjustment was gentle and pain free. I walked away feeling a great deal of relief.
He didn't want to do more out of concern that I might be very sore the next day. Truth is there was no soreness at all. With perfect hindsight, I would have asked him to do more because, while we got 80 to 90 percent of the pain, an extra adjustment or two might have taken it even higher. When I was in my 20s, I'd get adjusted 15 or 20 times and felt nothing but relief. Had a feeling I might just be really well suited to this kind of work, but being in my mid-50s now, I didn't want to assume so. Next time I'll know that it's probably safe to do more. Maybe not the 15 to 20 adjustments at a time I'd received in my youth, but 5 to 10 anyway.
Alas, I walked away feeling tremendous relief. And over the next week or so the last of the pain subsided.
I'm very pleased with the quality of Dr. Kongs' work. As stated above, he knows what he's doing. It's obvious he has a great deal of experience. He pinpointed the site of the problem immediately and knew exactly what was needed to create relief. He was also mindful about not inducing pain, either during the session or the following morning when a patient might otherwise be sore. Very glad I found him. Will not wait 30 years to go back for another adjustment. Dr. Kongs will be the first person I call if I find myself in pain again. read more
