He was very amazed I talked to a retired retina specialist friend of mine and he told me that the injections aren't trying to make the eye dry again but just to manage the leaking and inflammation. He didn't quite believe it went from wet to dry. That just doesn't happen he inferred. Now 6 weeks later, went back to the retina specialist and he said it has remained dry. I have been to many chiropractors over the past 10 years. I recently moved to the Bellingham area…read moreand a local friend recommended Dr. Sather when I told them I was having back pain and headaches. The initial consultation included an extensive discussion about my symptoms and explanation of factors that would contribute to them. Other chiros I have been to in the past had an "assembly line" feel where they did minimal interaction and discussion with their patients and then did 1-2 quick adjustments and then sent you on your way. So, I was impressed with the care and time he devoted to educating me on how to improve my condition and prevent further aggravation. Note: Because of the time it takes, I do not recommend scheduling this extensive first time consultation if you are in a hurry or already have a severe headache. The adjustment portion of my visit is why I selected 5 stars. He did not just do a 1-2 adjustments, but did over 8 adjustments -- to my neck, my back, my hips and even my legs. I'd never had such a thorough adjusting before and never walked out of a chiro with so much relief. During my first visit at a DIFFERENT chiro (that I went to prior to Dr Sather), the chiro cheerfully said "It looks like I am going to be seeing a LOT of you here!" after just a few minutes into our first appointment. I never went back. Who wants to go to a chiro who is content with having you pay for tons of visits with seemingly no concern for the financial and time impact on their patients? So, I was surprised when Dr Sather ended our visit by giving me a printout with diagrams of stretches that I could do at home, as well as a recommendation for a brace that I could wear during my recovery to help reduce future strain and to lessen the amount of future trips I would need to make to a chiro. I've been back 2 additional times in the 4 months since then and was impressed enough that I decided to give him a shout out on Yelp.
