My youngest (in primary) suffered educationally throughout the Covid Lockdowns, especially in…read moreEnglish. His personal confidence was at an all time low, and I felt with the limited resources available at primary school, I needed to do something different. He started Kip McGrath requiring additional support with English, within six months of working with Sarah, his reading ability had improved so much that he became a free reader, he has a better understanding of the basics of the English language, works independently during big write tasks, has improved his understanding of grammar and his ability to spell - but most importantly, the confidence he has in his personal ability has improved beyond all recognition and this has had a lasting change on his personal mental health and wellbeing. My eldest (at senior school) also struggles with English, most of the assessments in his year at senior school are creative writing tasks. He is just not naturally creative. Kip McGrath has helped my son more than he will ever realise, Sarah has provided the tools so he can tackle the challenge of analysing big pieces of text; whether Shakespeare or in a Gothic style for example, so he can confidentially critique and draft his answer to test questions. Sarah has assisted by concentrating on the basics, which has aided his ability to correct his understanding of grammar, tenses, and his ability to spell complex words has improved. My eldest has always loathed English with a passion, and only this morning he stated that he is enjoying English lessons at school - I almost fell off my chair! I wholeheartedly recommend Kip McGrath to everyone. It's so much more than education, Sarah enables children to feel confident in their personal abilities, and their mental health and wellbeing is critical in helping children thrive educationally.

She is a bright girl but Luke has showed her lots of new methods of learning and given her great confidence with speaking in a small group and dealing with exams etc speedily and accurately. My other daughter aged 8 also started classes with Luke in January 2011 to build up her confidence with Maths and English because she was behind on her grades at school. She is easily distracted and sometimes lacked motivation. Luke has been absolutely brilliant with her, her grades have improved along with her confidence. We would sometimes spend a whole afternoon going through her homework with her and she would be crying because she just didn't understand the maths questions. She now whizzes through them in no time. I have found Luke easy to talk with any problems my children are having with their learning and he has out of his way to give advice/guidance when needed. The girls are always keen to go to classes and enjoy getting rewards through a stamp system that he uses at the end of the class. I would have not hesitation in recommending Genie Tutors to you.

The restored, beautiful old Llanthewy Road Baptist Church is home to the Burleigh Academy, a performing arts organisation set up by a former touring soul/rock singer to teaching dance and music. There are various spaces and studios, but the building's main area is Burleigh Hall, a 300-capacity room with a small, functional bar.
